ForgotMyPassword42069
Probably been suggested 100s of times already. Upvote/Downvote buttons would be nice. And maybe an option to "hide mods I've downvoted". Not even to publicly show vote count because that would hurt the community, but to individualize content to a user. Tagging system only works if users tag files. Despite blocking face presets and obscene massive tiddy mods, people fail to tag them and I still see them from time to time. Blocking authors isn't effective as some authors have other content that I wish to see. Being able to hover over a mod thumbnail and press a "I never want to see this ever again" button would make my nexus experience immensely better.Along with the downvote button, the upvote button could be added to sync with a "suggested mods" category that suggest mods that match tags you've downloaded and endorsed. Many popular adult video websites have this feature, videos you dislike are no longer shown in your feed or searches, and videos you Like or Favorite are included in the algorithm that shows you suggestions. Druuler
Up and down voting was removed from the site years ago, due to rampant abuse of the system. I doubt you will find much support for it from mod authors. Edit: And no.
Zaldir
Guys, you gotta read the post and not just the title before you say no to this. This suggestion is not about a public up/down-vote button.
Ethreon
Wouldn't blocking tags and the authors you don't want to see their content from already do that?
DoctorKaizeld
I support this idea. Having a proper tool instead of a work around and relying on users to properly tag their mods would be fantastic.
Guest deleted34304850
i like it. for years i've fought with the tag system, and have quite a lot of content blocked at the mod author level when i have hit limitations of the tag system. i have learned to live with the fact that some mods simply wont come into my pages.this would offer another method to help me remove mods i dont want to see without impacting other mods from the same authors. DoctorKaizeld
Yeah. A good example of the current limitations is that of Niro. He makes gun and armor mods. If someone just wants to not see his armor mods they will lose the guns by blocking him. If Niro failed to properly tag his mods then it won't filter all of them correctly. Not to mention hide other armor mods the user may actually want.
Pickysaurus
I do agree this would be a nice feature, but it presents all kinds of technical challenges we need to address. We've made some changes to the site to offset it, but querying mods for users with a tonne of blocked tags/authors is an incredibly heavy request. Allowing individual mods to be blocked would make the request more specific and increase the time it takes to process. We can move the filter controls to the "front end" meaning that the search will load all results and your browser will figure out which items to actually show, but this would prevent mod results from being properly paginated - so you'd ask for the "first 20 mods for New Vegas" and after filters that page may have 12 mods on it, moving to page 2 you may have 3 results, etc. In short, it's something that would be super cool, but to do it well at the scale of this site requires significant planning. You make it sound like you guys don't have a super mega awesome supercomputer control room for managing this stuff! Almost as if its just an office full of dedicated, hard-working British nerds or something.
