CK refuses to have anything to do with scripting

I'm following a tutorial, and when I try to do Add New Script I get the message "The parent script doesn't exist, please choose one that does"

Parent script? This is brand new, there shouldn't be a parent.

Alright, here's what I've tried.

Go to Data/Scripts/Source. Go into each subdirectory and extract the source files from the zip into that subdirectory. So sources are in Data/Scripts/Source/Base, /DLC01, etc.

Do I need to move all the source files up one level, so everything is in Data/Scripts/Source?

Also, I checked the preferences in CK, and the Scripts tab says "Source: C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Source\Scripts\". WTF? And I can't change it?

So, just to be sure, I copied the Fallout Source directory to that directory. Didn't help.

What am I doing wrong, that the CK refused to do scripting in any way?

FIXED: I had to go back into the Bethesda.net Launcher, go back to the Creation Kit page, and in Game Options tell it to scan and repair. That fixed the issue. Started CK, it unpacked Base.zip again, and now the CK Preferences tab points to the correct location.
