Delayed Responce Issues

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've only just recently gotten Skyrim, and I've been having an irritating issue with it, I'd very much appreciate the help.

I've been having this problem with the game, where my interaction with the world seems to have a nasty delay, levers and the pull chains tend to take a couple seconds to respond. Getting and completing quests is rather slow and often I have to tab out of the conversation when I'm done, on some occasions I couldn't buy a house or recruit a follwer at all. The very worst though is when I go to transform into a Werewolf, doing that takes up to 10 minuets most times.

I've tried several things, from resetting my .ini's up through disabling all of my mods, and I even reinstalled once. I just got done trying to put PCB ino the console and resting for a few days , that got the Amazing Follower Tweaks to work, but NPC conversations, quests, and Werewolf transformations are still taking annoyingly long to work.

I'm using BOSS and I fixed what I knew how:

I don't understand why it's telling me about the Realistic Lighting Overhaul, as I deleted that quite a while ago, and I do only have one each of the SoS - Wilds and Civilization patches.

I did try to fix the issues with the NavMesh's but I didn't completely understand the tutorial that I was linked to, since it never told me what 'CK' was?

Thanks in advance for any help.

What you are describing is latency. basically how long it takes for the game to react and respond to your action.

It is affected by how many scripts you have the game running, but also by your computer's resources.

Although you aren't running a ton of mods, or that many at all, you are using a bunch that affect scripts.

What are your computer specs (Processor, RAM, Graphics Card, VRAM, ) If you don't know this, you can find it by going to the help tab on Steam and clicking on system information.

Also what are your game settings (Game version, game settings, any changes to your ini files or driver game profile)

The things you are not clear on iin the BOSS log--the stuff about RLO and SOS are notes, not warnings. Just info that is important for people to know, not a problem you need to fix. CK=Creation Kit. BOSS is telling you that the mod author needs to fix navmesh issues. In many cases you really don't have to worry about that. If you find you are always crashing at a specific place, that may be related to a mod's navmesh, but not related to the problem you are having now.

Thanks for the quick replies.

The only changes to the ini's that I have working right now is that I upped the Field of View to 90, and I set bDeferredShadows=0 since with that on, my shadows flickered real awful.

My computer set up is this,

Ah. The main problem is that your processor and RAM are not adequate for the game.

The lagging is caused by your computer having to clear memory in order for you to use it.

I suggest that you reconsider your mods if you are not willing to put up with the lag.

I would personally suggest a clean install, no mods at all, see how the game works. If it is ok, then very slowly add one or two mods at a time, run BOSS, and see how it goes until you reach your computer's limit.

I suggest you do not use the increased FOV, as that will increase the burden on your driver card, but really you are just going to have to make some hard choices about what you really want, and you will probably just not get a lot of it.
