Terinaguy1 Posted May 6, 2021 Share Posted May 6, 2021 I keep getting a message saying, "Vortex needs to access "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data" but doesn't have permission to. If your account has admin rights Vortex can try to unlock the file for you." and when I try to hit give permission it keeps coming up and won't let me access that folder with Vortex. Solution Pickysaurus Posted May 6, 2021 Solution Share Posted May 6, 2021 It's probably best if you reinstall Skyrim outside of the Program Files directory. Installing games you want to mod to a protected system folder can cause these issues depending on your PC security/AV settings. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
