Army recruitment

ive got a little idea for a mod.

what i thought was that there could be a recruitment office where you could join the impiral army, when you do you could be awarded say about 500gold pieces for joining. you can choose to join the infrantry as a foot soilder, archer or if your high level you could join the cavarly. you carry on as normall in oblivion but sometimes you will be called up to the frontline to fight in a battle, if you dont get to the recruitment office to be shiped of in around 2 days, you will be arrrested for not going, if you refuse thay will kill you. anyway, when you get to the office you will turn up in a battleground where you will be with other soilders. in the battles you will heve to, kill a certain amount of enimies, capture a objective or defend a certain area, once you have completed the battles you will go back to the office and if you fought well, you might get a medal. you can rise in ranks to become a captain or something even higher maybe.

what do other people think? is this possible?

I think this would be a great mod for a beginning modder, most of it could be done with the writing of the quest. Having to report to the office within two days could be a problem when in an Oblivion plain but that could be worked around. Other than a few locations and some NPC creation and placement, this mod would be fairly easy to make. You should continue with this, come up with a plan and try your hand with the CS. I believe that if you did some of the work and had something to show, you could probably get someone interested in helping you finish it. I haven't seen many reasonable mod requests lately, most are either something near imposable or someone wanting another sword. Kudo's for being original.

This is a great idea, not to menchion its kinda of like a guild (with all the rewards and ranks). Plus it sounds interesting enough. You might even be able to make custom items for rewards (For more difficult quests withing said guild.) Not only is this a great idea but you would get alot of respect with the community for A.) not making a sword request, lol and B.) for acctualy trying to do this yourself. If only would could get more people like you around here.

this would be great add on to Elder Council, Fort Akatosh and become the Emperor mods. Instead of doing patrols to get rank.op for the battle instead. Elder Council is a base to build off of, something I have always wished for was I higher military rank in that mod higher than captain. You have that great HQ in the Fort Akatosh which has very roman feel to it.

instead of captain Centurion

Primus Pilus: The senior centurion of the legion and commander of the first cohort was called the primus pilus a career soldier and advisor to the legate. While every normal cohort was composed of 5 to 8 centuries, the one that was led by the primus pilus (the first) had about 10 centuries, or 800 men.

Praefectus Castrorum The camp Prefect. Generally he was a long-serving veteran who had been promoted through the ranks of the centurions and was third in overall command.

Tribuni Angusticlavii: Each legion had 5 military tribunes of equestrian (knight) class citizens. They were in many cases career officers and served many of the important administrative tasks of the Legion, but still served in a full tactical command function during engagements. Not rank for the player, mission, the ability to make the rank of Praefectus

The Legati: senior commanders under the supremo. Generally they were of senatorial rank and were commissioned by the Senate. Not a rank for player but maybe mission based off of it

The Quaestor: Served as a type of quartermaster general, in charge of purchasing, finance, the collection and distribution of booty, etc. Again, these might perform similar functions on the civilian side. yet another NPC maybe that could give out mission and what not
