Mayh3M14
Hi. I'm running Skyrim at 3440x1440 with two GTX 980 Tis. I followed Realvision ENB's guide, installing most of the recommended mods and am getting 40-60 FPS outside which is OK. The game is running fine except for one problem which is debilitating. I'm getting random large stutter spikes where my FPS drops to single digits causing a brief freeze, and then going back to normal. I find this happens a lot when I'm turning around. After reading up I found this is a VRAM problem. My question is how can I properly optimise my ENB settings to eliminate this troublesome stuttering? I followed most of the basic advice out there and made adjustments to my enblocal.ini but to no avail. korun
Vram tester from EnbDev, it will give you the exact amount of Video Memory available EnableCompression=true »»»»false, it sometimes stop stuttering if you have more than 2 gb Vram, 2 x 980 Ti in Sli = 6 GB so ^^ @@

I ran the tool and got 15840 for DX11 and 4064 for DX9. So I should change the following line from: VideoMemorySizeMb=10240 to VideoMemorySizeMb=4064 ? I thought that this line was supposed to be [VRAM + RAM - 2048] which should be [6144+16000-2048] which equals ~20000? I remember reading that the maximum memory which can be allocated is 10240 which is why I just used that number. I'm curious also why DX9 allows for such a small amount of memory? Also after a brief check I saw others also getting 4064 but they have cards with less VRAM - so I'm confused here. Anyway I'll try this out tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. Thanks. You could changeReservedMemorySizeMb=512to 768. The higher you set this the better is the performance BUT the risk of CTDs is growing also. I have this setting with a much weaker system than you have and I have NO problems. But I must say I doubt that this will do it.
Mayh3M14
Well I did a fresh install of my game and reinstalled all of my mods. I then used a different ENB (Project ENB). Stuttering/freezes no longer happening. Not sure what exactly changed but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the ENB/SKSE ini files. Stuttering/freezes no longer happening. Not sure what exactly changed but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the ENB/SKSE ini files. Glad to hear it's cleared up. I recently found something strange with an ENB I was using. I was getting 16 fps and things were really laggy so I opened the ENB GUI and started fiddling with things. Turns out when I turned off the "FPS Limiter" my FPS shot up to 60. Weird discovery.
