The vanilla meshes are good enough and I'd go as far as saying that anyone presenting a new body mesh, should also modify all in game equipment to fit the new body mesh before releasing it, unless it's a pointless endeavor. My opinion at least.

But I also want a seperate section for non canon mods, so I don't have to search through all the drivel before I find something worth looking at... and I also know that my opinions aren't always popular :P

Well, as an aside, the FemFeet mod is very nice. I also like the vanilla model, but the feet are really terrible if you ever go barefoot in the game. Had to edit the FemFeet texture to make the toenails less bright, but otherwise the feet is very realistic.

So there you have the feet, that's a start :)

dont worry, there are other bodymods coming... Caliente was just one of the fastest to release one.

think back to oblivion and how far along after it was released when some of the (to this day) popular body mods came out... we dont even have a CK for skyrim yet...

the future holds a lot of body mods dont ya worry :)

What looks so bad about it? What is better about the pathetic vanilla? Referring to the smaller breast version in particular, what is your problem with it? Are you maybe talking about v1? Have you seen v2? I just can't fathom why you insist on saying it's horrible. It's already better than anything we got in FO3/NV. If you want it dirty, make a dirty texture. But you actually have huge issues with the shape of the mesh? Really? Tell me why.

there is so much hate going on here XD

personally I like CBBE. (now now, don't go biting my head off for saying this). I like watching how modding is progressing, and you guys seem to forget that this mod was created without CK. this means that once CK is active this mod is only going to evolve for the better. I may not be a big fan of the massive badonkadonks and honestly, they just look silly, but once the slim body came out (you know, the one with the smaller breasts?) i've been all smitten. CBBE is by far the best model to date (personal opinions, you know what those are right? they are like a penis, its ok to have one, but its wrong to try and shove them down people's throats?)

who cares about winning or losing right now. what i like seeing is selection. different things that one can choose from and mod his or her game how they feel best.

this is just my personal opinion, take it with a grain of sand.

PS. type3 was nice. i like the ass swing while walking XD ahahaha.

Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has mixed feelings about CBBE.

When it first came out, I was excited. It was the first to provide a significantly new and high quality body mesh which is presented in a friendly and professional manner, and has the gimmick of variable breast size to boot. But when I started seeing people making armor mods for it, I began to get worried. I'd honestly much rather have the vanilla body mesh, and I don't want to see the so-so CBBE mesh become the community standard.

The people who prefer the CBBE mesh over the surprisingly well done vanilla body, I have to wonder: have they ever seen a real woman nude before? Real women don't look like porn stars, nor do they look like super models, nor do they look like hentai. While I suppose there's nothing wrong with wanting exaggerated women, I can't help but feel like CBBE is a step away from realism and realistic beauty and toward older Oblivion meshes, and their exaggerated hentai-esque shape. (There's a reason HGEC is an acronym with "hentai" in it.)

That's not the only problem I have with CBBE. While I think the idea of adjustable breast and butt size is cute and creative, I also think it's a step backwards. Variation between the bodies of women is a lot more complex than just breast and butt size. I think a bit of variation in the thickness between two sides of a beautiful spectrum, a very light figure and a more curvy hourglass figure, adds a lot to the personality to the game's women.

Honestly, I think the vanilla mesh is pretty spot on already. It's sexy without being too unrealistic. The only thing that needs any significant work are the breasts, as they were never intended to be unrestrained and exposed. (i.e. not in a bra) I'm waiting for someone with a good eye for female beauty to make something very similar to the vanilla body, just a little tweaked up and improved. :)

I do agree the perfect, hentai, model, babe or pornstar body isn't the way to go here.

Bethesda did a great job with the normals, which make the bodies look like they have a layer of fat, are inperfect. However I can't agree that the meshes are spot on, and I don't mean the breasts.

But the chest, it's too barrel-shaped, to volumous wherever the weight slider goes.

Variation is indeed what would spice Skyrim up, I'm all for making humanoids look less like clones. But just tweaking the vanilla mesh isn't going to cut it.

In my understanding, this should be possible, the weight slider/option system needs to be extended, add a slider for body types, breasts, fat/muscularity.

- Bodytypes: this would switch between a few bodymodels:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1b/Bodyshapes.svg/525px-Bodyshapes.svg.png

- Weight slider: does pretty much the same as it does now, but each bodytype (skelleton) behaves slightly differently

- Breast slider: why not?

- Fat/Muscularity: switches between several normal maps, ranging from lean, to bulky muscle and skinny to fat.

If someone wants to make his character look like a double D hourglass figured pornstar, so be it, if you want a skinny lean muscled huntress, or an amazon warrioress, your choice.

Add in preset and random settings for NPC's and mobs, do the same for male bodies, and realism is the user choice.

I'm using it, and it's better then vanilla, It's the best so far imho. Untill the CK is released. I dont think it will take as long as it did with Oblivion for the Skyrim equivalent of HGEC or Roberts to be made, including all the options from A to DDD cup, from skinny women to Rubens women, from muscle to amazone. If the people behind those 2 mods (and/or the people who in turn improved on those), get their hands on the CK and start work on Skyrim, they take all the experience they gained in Oblivion with them to Skyrim. I think we will see the Skyrim equivalent of HGEC & Roberts within months if not weeks instead of years. The Step from modding Morrowind to modding Oblivion was a big step. The step from modding Oblivion to modding Skyrim is a lot smaller, even though nobody knows what will be possible with the CK yet. That is what i so far understand about modding Morrowind > Oblivion > Skyrim at least for as far as "meshes & textures' is concerned.

it's amazing what people are doing without the CK at the moment.

Everything we see now is just modders "practicing" before the CK is released. The quality of some of the mods suggests they know exactly what they are doing and are already bringing the affore mentioned mod experience with them from Oblivion to Skyrim.

I am not a modder at all, so every mod bassically amazes me, i never got beyond placing a shack, some wallpieces & a chest in Oblivion to store my stuff in. Then i lost everything because i forgot chests respawn  :whistling:

I am not sure why people think that the CK is necessary to produce a new body mesh and textures. It isn't. I am sure that there are probably modders working on body mods, but not wanting to get a release out until it is ready. The CK would only come into play if someone wished to attempt to add some more body modification sliders, and even were that possible, it might be tricky to implement.

I think if people are cool with this mesh and they like it, then they should go ahead and use it. I also respect the work of the author Caliente in having a go at this mod. However, I do not think that the body should become the standard, because I would prefer something that still uses the vanilla UV and therefore does not require a whole lot of conversions of even the vanilla armor. And I also wish that advocates of this mod, who do like it as they are entitled to do, would also not trash the work of other modders. Here's an example from Goliatron;-

"It's already better than anything we got in FO3/NV. If you want it dirty, make a dirty texture. But you actually have huge issues with the shape of the mesh? Really? Tell me why."

Well Type 3 was an excellent body mod. And respect the effort of Caliente as I do, speaking as a curvaceous woman myself, my personal opinion is that it is still not for me.

For once I would agree with Ghogiel in that the vanilla body is not at all bad, but I personally feel that the boobs are a weird shape when nude.

Incidentally, I am never sure where the stereotype in gaming of the "skinny lean muscled huntress" ever came from. The term "huntress" suggests someone who is an accomplished archer. It has been referred to by another poster in a thread about armor, and I can confirm that from experiences from participating in archaeological projects, that archers in fact were beefy individuals. Examination of the skeleton of an archer from the battle of Towton in the earlier English Civil War (the 15th C one)confirms that. I am experienced in modern archery and a strapping lass, but I can tell you that a medieval longbow requires about 90lbs force to draw it, not easy. Therefore, your huntresses really should be pretty Amazonian.
