I had just about thrown in the towel. So many crashes that I was ready to remove the game and Steam and just revert back to my PS3.

But... I turned the automatic updates back on again; went to steam and verified my cache, which as I understand it, forces an update, and defragged my game's cache.

Voila, I'm back in business. No crashes.....so far....

We'll see if I stay 'sucked in' to my PC's game. I have a lot invested in my level 43 destruction mage and her 7 followers...

Hello again, I started a new game and have not removed any mods since starting, and I am getting crashes seemingly everywhere(conversations, combat, just walking around, indoors/outdoors etc). The following is always the last line in my papyrus log-

As I say, I have not uninstalled any mods since I reinstalled the game, so I am not sure what my problem is....if someone has any suggestions, I would be most grateful.

In fact, here is my whole log, if that is any more help(it isn't big...the game only lasts about 20 seconds before crashing-

Pablo, the OP in the 1st page of this thread mentioned this problem i think
he said
"The problem relating to the "-lvlpredatorscript.psc" is that you are using a mod that alters AI behaviour scripts (i.e. SkyTEST) but you have since then uninstalled said mod and are no longer running it, there is no way to solve this issue but to reload a save prior to installing said mod or starting a new game. And don't forget to NOT uninstall this mod otherwise it's CTD-land!"

could that be your problem ?

Thanks for the reply.

Well that is the thing really, I read the OP and the difference for me is that I installed Skyrim+dlc and then installed the mods I wanted. I then started playing and have not uninstalled/installed any mods at all since then(I had a specific list of mods I wanted to use for this playthrough). Also starting new games doesn't do anything as I get crashes sometimes still at Helgen and sometimes around Riverwood.

I think my problem might be a bit more deep-rooted unfortunately :(

As I've mentioned before, the "cannot enable an object with an enable state parent" error is completely harmless, and it simply means that scripts are not allowed to disable objects if they have an "enable parent" linked to them. Trying to disable such objects will simply be ignored by the game and will not cause CTDs. As there is no way in Papyrus to query if a reference has an enable parent, it is not possible to circumvent this error.

"Note that references with an Enable Parent cannot be enabled or disabled independently of their parent, even through script. Their disable/enable state is always determined by their enable parent." - CK wiki.

Unfortunately, those log errors indicate that your savegame is badly corrupted. Revert to an earlier save.

Edit: something may have modified the scripts "LightingBall.psc" and "critterspawn.psc" in an adverse way. Are you using USKP by any chance. If so, that is probably your culprit. If not, then it is probably savegame corruption. I also note that you had previously been using SOS- Civilization mod, which apparently causes savegame bloating.

yes Im using unofficial skyrim patch as I was told that it fixes some bugs that are still not fixed by patches.looks like it didnt.I was using sos but I uninstalled it some while ago.My current quicksave is 9mb big.
So uninstalling uskp will solve my problems probabely ? thank u very much for taking a look at my problem.I have over 100 hours in skyrim and the last time I want to do is starting a new game.

btw I just ran boss looks like a mod modified my update.esm in a bad way ? I replaced it with a fresh one but boss still says its edited.The cleaning guide isnt specific enough

on how to clean the update.esm file in my case.

EDIT: without uskp my game wont even make it to the main menu anymore.it crashes after the bethesda logo.
