  1. Hey guys, So I've been creating a fairly complicated set of items that essentially apply various chems to the player depending on stats, skills, in or out of combat, number of items remaining, etc. I've managed to get everything working just fine except for the very last piece. It figures that the last little thing would be the one I can't seem to figure out... Anyway, here's my problem: My items are ARMO objects (Armor) and they're craftable (upgradable) at a workbench. The recipes, the requirements and the output are all fine. The only thing that doesn't work is the image that is displayed when the given recipe is selected. I expected the image of the Slave Collar to be displayed since that is the image that the outputted item uses, but instead I get the Pipboy UI image. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the wrong image is being displayed and I've poked around for several hours already. My only thoughts would be that the item I'm creating is an ARMO object. Workbenches have recipes for every category (Misc, Ammo, Aid, NONE, etc), but there isn't a category for Armor (ARMO) and that is the only thing that I can think of that may be causing it to have issues finding the image file. At any rate I would really appreciate some feedback since this mod is closing in on 35 hours of production and this one little thing is the only part stopping me from finishing it. See below for an example of my issue:
  2. Alright so I've been a lifetime premium member for quite a while now and honestly I don't feel like I've contributed enough to such a great site. Even if the lifetime membership were to cost twice as much I would still happily buy into it. Supporting a site that's run by such an honest and hard working man is something I can get behind for the long haul. So I was wondering (and I don't mean to start a huge debate here), but what do people think about having an option to change your username? I understand that this is not something that could or should be done willy-nilly, but it's a thought. I, for one, would be willing to pay somewhere around $10 or so dollars to change my name as my account is old, and I was young when I made it (not so fond of the name now). I realize that this could cause some serious confusion with Mod Authors just appearing and re-appearing with different names, so I think that a few regulations could be made to make it a more feasible idea. Like for instance, only premium members can change their names, and they can only do it every 6months or so. It's a thought, and I'd be willing to pay for this feature not because I think it should cost money, but because I would love an additional, beneficial way to support the Nexus aside from my current lifetime membership. Like I said guys, love the sites, and I don't mean to start up anything here. Just throwing around an idea I've had for a while so take it or leave it, no harm meant. Thanks again for the Nexus guys! -- @Volnaiskra (Above) ^ You. That. Genius. Thanks for the info, but my idea still stands! Regardless I shall see how that goes for me, thank you.
  3. Got myself a lifetime premium membership a few years ago because I loved the sites so much and after hearing this news I'd honestly be very willing to purchase another if I could! Thanks so much for the hard work.
  4. Honestly I haven't even heard of this game before (Chastise me if you want haha), but I'm very impressed at the rate the Nexus is expanding! I'm sure there are a few people out there that detest the thought of the Nexus moving out of the RPG-only world, but I think this is a big step, in the right direction! Some sites get so rapped up in working towards or with one direction that they miss opportunities to expand and become more. The Nexus for example is a great example of the better side of this! This isn't just another Nexus site, but it's proof that the Nexus Modding Community is becoming just that, a Modding Community which comes together to provide mods by everyone, for everyone, and for all types of games. This is the direction I hope to see the sites continue on with to help help support the one-man modder and tweaker! Great work Dark0ne! Just don't go and get yourself rapped up in so much that you throw in towel!! I hope to see more sites added in the future as this tight-nit group of people is fantastic!! Awesome job!
  5. Ahh, well I figured as much, I may have to look around for that mod haha.
  6. Well, as to the "DOES NOT WORK ON x64 SYSTEMS" thing they tell you about...it seems that it still does. I'm running Windows 7 x64, and just downloaded the entire package. The installation process works fine, up until the very, very end. Then it tells you that it cannot run on x64 systems and that it will now exit the setup process. However, it still installed the games fine and NWN1 will load just fine for me (although it does cause my desktop to act as if it has epilepsy while it's loading). I can get through character creation in NWN1 just fine. As for NWN2, I tried to to launch it from the "Games" section of Windows, and it had a few issues...It immediately loads one of the expansions instead of the main game, and when it does this the games loading screen is centered fine, but the active area (where your cursor can go) seems to be the same size only lower on the screen. This meant that I had to put my cursor on the bottom of my screen to highlight the buttons in the center of the screen. Needless to say I forced myself out of that instance and tried it a different way. I tried to load it via the main launcher in the install folder, this seemed to work much better and I was able to adjust graphics options and load the game. It still preloaded one of the DLC's for some reason, but since the main menu was no longer distorted I was able to select the main campaign and was then able to enter and pass through character creation just fine. So that being said, it does seem to work fine on Win7 x64 however, that may just be a lucky occurrence on my laptop. Still, if you're running Win7 x64 I would say buy at your own risk, but it does work fine for me right now. Hope this helped!
  7. There's a reason I don't make watches... **EDIT** Actually I think I found my problem, GMT doesn't stand for what I thought it did lol...I assumed it was General Mountain Time (as that's what everyone around here says) it actually stands for Greenwich Mean Time, I shouldn't even be in college at this rate...let me just go and edit a few words, again...
  8. Maybe...or perhaps their website compensates for the timezone of the connected computer's IP Address? Hmm...I'll get back to on that one haha... **EDIT** Well, the site tells me that the sale ends in just under 8hours...It's just after 6pm here sooo 8 hours from now puts the end of the sale for MDT people (which is me) at 2am...damn I'm an hour off hold on lemme edit that post >.> **EDIT** There, now maybe that's more chronologically accurate haha!
  9. -Just thought I'd list off a few more details about this deal for those of you who would rather not go out on a limb. -First off, this game comes from the listed website digitally, that means it's a direct download to your computer. The good thing about this is that you don't need to pay S&H which is outrageous for trans-Atlantic purchases. The bad thing is that according to the main page it's a 10.25GB download. However, their game downloader says it's 11GB. Anyway that means that if you're running a low connection speed it could take you several days to download. However, if you're like me and have a download speed of about 1.5mbs, you'll get the full package in roughly 2 hours. -Once the download is finished, you'll have to install the game like any other game. That means you'll need the Product Serial Keys. These keys can be found on the page that you initially downloaded the game from. Simply follow the link in Dark0ne's post again, if you're still logged in then look to the left side of your screen and look under My Library then under My Shelf, you'll see a link for "Dungeons and Dragons...", click it. Now click the game again and on the right side of your screen will be details telling you the Product Serial Keys for both NWN1 and NWN2 as well as both games DLC. -Secondly, the exact-ish cost for Americans (According to PayPal) is roughly $8.04 which is a huge deal!! Especially considering the fact that you can easily sink 200 hours into these games (Not including User made content). -Thirdly, even if you already have the games on disc, it couldn't hurt to spend $8 to essentially give yourself a permanent digital backup, seeing as the site allows you to download the game multiple times (much like Amazon). -As for the time remaining on this sale, it's about 8hours. That means that if you live on the West Coast, you'll have until March 15th @ 1am. If you're on MDT (Like me) then you have until March 15th @ 2am. Finally if you live on the East Coast, you have until March 15th @ 4am. And if Google isn't lying to me, then you guys over there in the UK have until 8am...because I believe it's already midnight there lol...Hope that gives you some perspective on time lol ! -I hope this helped a little bit as that's kind of what I was going for lol. Feel free to PM me I guess if you feel you really need to haha.
  10. Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to explain to me how to turn a vanilla resolution texture into a high resolution texture? Do I simply create a higher res texture and rename it to match a vanilla texture and viola? Or do I have to open the textures Mesh object in Blender and export a high res uv map? I've never tried to make a high res texture before and all of the retextures I've done have stayed at the vanilla resolution, but it seems as though people enjoy having variety (ie: high and low res texture options). That being said I would appreciate knowing how to facilitate a larger audience by being able to offer multiple resolutions so any help would be greatly welcomed. I am fairly confident in my abilities to use both Photoshop and it's .dds plugin, but if the process involves exporting a higher res uv map out of Blender than I would need a somewhat detailed set of instructions to do that as I'm not quite as comfortable in Blender yet. So when/if you decide to help me out and post some instructions below please keep in mind that I'm using Photoshop CS5 x64 and the latest stable versions of Blender 2.5x, Python, and Nifskope and they're all installed and running correctly to the best of my knowledge. Thanks in advance to anyone who posts a solution to my dilemma!
  11. I would suggest looking at Digital Storm. I have one of their laptops and it runs everything I've played at max settings (even FNV and Dragon Age 2) It cost me roughly $2500, but it has a 7200rpm i7 intel quad core processor with 8gbs of ram and 1tb of memory with the latest nvidia graphics card available (cant think of the name at the moment). Regardless though all of their systems are up to date and custom built for gaming. I would suggest grabbing something with at least 4gbs of ram and at least 350gbs of memory and a processor of at least 2.6ghz. The Laptops are here. The Desktops are here.
  12. Very helpful ^^ anyway I just thot I'd give my two cents in this topic. I created a mod of my own to add Ghouls as a playable race (yea woo hoo I know lol) but I went a few steps farther and got the stupid purple hands to go away and created a trait to be taken at level 1 that is only available for ghouls. And what does it do? well it does what a ghoul mod should do....it makes ghouls immune to radiation and I did it in a way that makes it easier to see...i guess... anyway I did NOT know that you could change the max player res from 85%...so what I did was simply create a trait that increases players positive radiation regeneration to 10,000. This means that the player so long as they are a ghoul and they take this trait, will regenerate 10,000 points of radiation evey second or so. by doing this not only did the player take no raditaion damage, but it still showed the radiation notification. I like this because then you still know that its radiated, but you take no damage....idk if this helped anyone but hey! every bit counts right?
  13. Ok I've had problems similar to this..I think the Blender Version you posted is the newest with the new UI...The way I fixed most of these "issues" was to open Blender and go to File->User Preferences...when the new window pops up go to the very top and select the INPUT tab...In the middle of this page is pull down menu with, by default, Blender or Maya...Choose Blender and then at the bottom of the window click "Save as Default". This has fixed many of my problems as Blender and Maya have very different controls. Hope it helps
  14. [REMOVED BY ME] This post went unanswered for quite a while and I'm no longer working on the mod. No useful information was listed here either so I don't think anyone will miss it.
