  1. Does anyone know of a mod that would allow me to return to the pure chocolate covered bliss that was Morrowind's barter system? Specifically, I would like to be able to plot out what I will be purchasing, and which of my hard-won treasures I will be giving up for sale before I actually complete the transaction. Something more like at the supermarket; I line up my purchases and am given a price for the whole lot, as opposed to Oblivion's system where I must pay piece by piece for the goods that I want. Does this mod exist? And, if it does not, does anyone possess the necessary knowledge and skill to craft it themselves?
  2. While trying to make the NPCs more life-like is an admirable goal, it really won't do all that much for the player. Sure, you could give each NPC an elaborate schedule with various deep and meaningful interactions with others, but most of these interactions would not be noticed unless they take place in an easily visible place; like in the middle of the street, or in a crowded inn (which would bring up Oblivion's problems with large numbers of NPCs onscreen at one time). Think of it this way: when you play, do you follow various NPCs around just to see what they are doing?
  3. A goblin. I want to charge into battle, perched on the back of a green, leathery skinned humanoid. After all, what better way to celebrate my subjugation of the various gobbos across Cyrodil than by taking one as a mount?
  4. The models are likely too high-poly for your computer.
  5. Does the game run fine when you are in 1st person view-mode?
  6. Of course I wouldn't simply slap the arrows into just anyone's shop, as that would be ridiculous. The racist (I can't think of a better way to describe them) arrows would likely be purchasable from that rude Khajiit in the DB sanctuary (just a few), and some Argonian-bane arrows would be in the Leyawiin castle, for obvious reasons. Some Vampire-bane arrows would likely be found with the members of the Order of the Virtuous Blood, which would make sense.
  7. I usually open up mods to look at how they did something. If they have some crazy effect, or really nice room or something, I really can't resist the temptation to see how they did it.
  8. I've recently started thinking about making a 'Bane Arrows' mod, and I frankly don't know that anyone would actually download such a thing. Simply put, the arrows would be enchanted with a modified version of the Turpentine script. Rather than killing painted trolls, they would kill creatures (goblins or whatever, it would depend on the arrows themselves) with a corresponding faction added to them. The faction would not interact with other factions, and would just be there to ensure that the right kind of creature was 'messed the hell up'. Also, there is the possibility of Racist Arrows; arrows that kill/seriously damage just wood elves or orcs or whatever. With these, I would likely add a script to the arrows that if the player is carrying them, the members of the accompanying faction would dislike them a bit. Not much, but just enough to reflect a sort of "I don't feel right around this person. They might be some sort of racist." feeling due to the faint but hateful aura of the arrows themselves. If this were to be made, would you download it? Do you have any suggestions? Is there a better way to do this than having to resort to factions? Because I really don't want to have to add factions to every last goblin.
  9. I've always enjoyed downloading mods that add new foods to the game. Yep. My character likes variety in his diet.
  10. Did you create a normal map for the texture?
  11. Two words: Damage Attribute. With a few of these poisons, you can cut down your enemy's effectiveness by a good chunk, all before they strike you (provided you are Sneaky or using an Invisibility potion to line up that shot). Damage Intelligence drops the magicka pool that a mage has to draw from, damage Strength leaves enemies barely able to swing their weapons (damage it enough, and they become over-encumbered, and you can pick them off at your leisure), damage Speed leaves your enemy slow in coming after you. Even if you don't make them, use any poisons you find to give you that extra edge in battle.
  12. When people post screens for their mods, they often fiddle with the image in Photoshop or something similar. Chances are, they aren't getting those graphics in-game either.
  13. My character, as an alchemy enthusiast, collects ingredients. I even set up kitchens in my houses where he can do a little cooking!
  14. The only way I could see it working is if the 'defensive weapons' were scripted to add a spell to the player that, when cast, would pose the character in such a way that it looks like the 'defensive weapon' is sheathed. However, this would be a lot of work, as each weapon would have to have it's own pose animation to account for size, shape, 'weapon' type, etc. Good luck, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
  15. Search for At Home Alchemy. That mod makes it so you can use any apparatus without having to put it in your enormous pockets first.
