Dividing Larger mods in Smaller parts?

Recommended Posts

I have the habit to create large mods over large landscapes.

The mod in question is Hammerfell WIP

No matter what I do it doesn't work in the long run.

Planning to start all over and work on smaller parts.

It is also cleaned all the way - I guess you are familiar with the tool.

I have also removed objects that I don't concider necessary at this stage - hair styles among others.

I sincerely hope there is a solution to this. I really want to fullfill the mod.

I get this message in GECK:

Adding stuff to mods is easy, getting rid of them is another issue that can cause crashes.

I managed to clean my current mod from a lot of dependencies I added by misstek, well it was not esy as the version from 28th Jan crashed but I had a version from 26th that I managed to clean and get to work but I also did loose some stuff from COBL and the Luggage went bad, so I had to make a complete new Luggage, copied the script that refused to work on my old container, saving the stuff from that main container by activated it on player with prid it, activate player and managed to save the stuff, add new chests with the new script...

Well... I am sorry to say, there is no way really. I bet you worked a lot on that mod and if you worked on it for lets a month only well, start all over as it might 2 years or so to make such a project or mor if you are alone. Make an esm where you add all objects, not the references and an esp where you work in the preview window with the references. Olblivion.esm is a mod, nothing else. So if they managed to make that one, you will manage to make the entire Hammerfell really but do it in an esm. I would say the landscape, should be in the esm but I hope other wise readers here will make a better suggestion as maybe all stuff you see like landskape and all references should be in the esp. If you make to many different esp, well maybe the players will get pissed but maybe a West and a East esp or 3? West, middle and east.

Hamherfell looks like a pear, so west, North and South parts would be best. :D 4 files. esm and 3 esp

To make it short, check if the objects you plan to delete are used by a script or a scripted result of dialogue and once you updated those elements accordingly delete the objects in the CS then open your esp/esm in TES4Edit and check for errors.
