Scrapping stuff

Ok, I have ran into a situation whereas I cannot disable or scrap items. In your house in Sanctuary Hills, I normally scrap all the trash, breakfast bar, lights, kitchen units and all the bathroom stuff, to do this as I do not use any mods that scrap all items, I normally press the INS key while in build mode, this let's me select the item I want to scrap, click it and it scraps it. The other method while in build mode was to select the tidal key while in build mode, click on the item I wanted to disable and accept, now while I do this mode it tells me that I have selected an no AV item, so it will not disable. In the INS mode, I cannot highlight the items I want to scrap. Any ideas why?

Did you change any of your mods?

I deleted all mods, deleted all files, uninstalled the game, cleared the registry files, then installed all mods again with the exception of some quest mods that was causing a ctd. So a complete and new fresh install

I think the 'ins" select is from Place Everywhere, isn't it?

I have ran into things that I couldn't even select in the console...... or, the point you have to click to select it is REALLY hard to find...... Also, I think if an object is part of a 'combined mesh', that'll give ya trouble too.

Yes it is, and I actually have that installed, I will uninstall it and reinstall it again to see if that fixes the issue. Also giving me trouble because its part of a combined mesh, I have never ran into issues deleting these items from the house. I do not touch any other item outside the house as I have read that deleting precombines causes CTD's, but the ones in the house, I have never ran into any CTD's once deleted. All my CTD's are caused by incompatible mods or mods that delete precombines in the world space.

Well uninstalling and reinstalling the mod did not solve the issue. Restarting a brand new game to see if it works now that I downloaded it again.

just a recommendation:

broken precombined objects can not be simply healed after destroying them. if this mess is baked in a save the only way to heal it is to find and start with a previous save not containing the broken static combined object. it does not matter if it happens within settlement boundaries or not. strictly do not disable the built in default precombined objects protection to avoid any performance drops due to creating unintentionally a draw call and rendering optimization mess and visual glitches. it has a reason why scapping is deactivated with standard settings.

that means if the protection is activated that many static objects are not available for scrapping for a good reason (to protect perfomance).

if you scrap any static object be sure not to harm the built in game performance and draw call optimization, especially not in already dense areas with lower fps. always backup before such changes to be able to correct any performance mess. if you like playing 4k or with high fov settings this precaution is essential!
