bobiscool180
So I recently had my uGridsToLoad set to 7, and decided to reduce it to 5 because I was having some performance issues in exteriors with lots of grass. I have the stable uGridsToLoad mod so I thought it would be fine, and it seemed so at first - my game loaded up fine, and looked fine, and had the desired effect on performance - but after walking a short distance it became clear that the grass was not being continually loaded/buffered. Whatever surrounding area I started in had grass, but then it just stopped. I could force it to load by using the TG command in the console, or by fast-traveling to a new location, but the same problem would occur - it would load for one area and then stop. Everything else so far but the grass is working fine. Here's some of the sections of my .inis that may be affecting this: Skyrim.ini: [General]uGridsToLoad=5uExterior Cell Buffer=36(was previously 7, and 64) [Grass]iGrassCellRadius=3iMinGrassSize=30bAllowCreateGrass=1bAllowLoadGrass=0bGrassPointLighting=1iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7 SkyrimPrefs.ini [Grass]fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=11000.0000bAllowCreateGrass=1bAllowLoadGrass=0b30GrassVS=0fGrassStartFadeDistance=9000.0000fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000 I hope I'm not forgetting anything. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Nyquist
Afaik ugridstoload should not be changed once chosen. By that i mean you cannot got to 7 then 9 and then back to 5. Load a save prior to changing to 7. And play with that.
camaro_69_327
With wrong Ugrids the game will CTD instantly wont load a save so its not that... These are the setting i have in my 2 ini files....you have a few extras ...try commenting them out. a Semi colon ; at the beginning of a line and the game wont read that line. Skyrim.ini[Grass]iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7bAllowCreateGrass=1bAllowLoadGrass=0iMinGrassSize=75 Prefs.ini[Grass]b30GrassVS=1fGrassStartFadeDistance=7000.0000fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=0.0000 See if you get better results. bobiscool180
Thanks for the help camaro, I'm not sure what setting it was exactly but editing out the extra lines from the .inis did the trick. I don't even remember where I got the settings anymore I've edited and combined things so much - it may have been ewi's .ini tweaks?Anyway, you saved my save so thanks!
