How will PC mods be delivered to consoles

I know that 2016 will see the introduction of a GECK system or something to that effect, and I know mods will them be made or available for Xbox first, then the PS4. My question is, how will all the great mods we like, made by our favorite authors, uploaded to (where?) be made available to console users? Will the developer have their own Nexus like site? Presumably with some kind of for pay format? Will there be x game mods on the X site, and Sony for Sony site? I'm wondering because my system is somewhat low end, and I'm considering playing on a console if F4 bogs down on this system, until I upgrade, when I might actually play on both.

Recall that the One will be running Windows 10. Chances are bethesda will host, but one can manually plug in nexus mods.

The real issue isn't deployment. It's what is going to happen when console peasants try to download a 4k texture mod and mods that add self shadows and hires effects, and realize even a $600 console can't run mods that work with a less expensive PC.

A $ 600 pc can't run 4k smoothly if at all. If the display is almost half the price itself.
Referring to the tower. You don't include tv price for the console, right?

A gtx 960 which is 200.00 in an 8gb box can run it. It will be slow but will still run it. The PS4 uses a card on par with an AMD Radion 7850 which is a similar card. That with a 200.00 barebone kit that includes Windows and you can run mods a One cant.

And that's just right now. PC parts improve and mods grow with them. Console users will always find themselves left in the cold after release year.

Yes, that a fair point. But you need a 4k screen for a 4k build. With xbone or ps4 you can't use every tv all right, but those are rare and old. It the opposite of the pc case where you need a 4k screen that are more that 100 bucks.

Um...no. The difference between a modern tv and a modern monitor is that one of them has a built in TV tuner. You can actually plug your computer into your tv and do it that way as well. That's why in the context of console performance versus PC, you don't count monitor price.

If we are comparing tvs yes. But since both items need the exact same display it's not worth addressing.

My comparison was the hardware of one to the other. And one can use a 4k texture on a mesh object without using a 4k television. It takes the same amount of video memory either way but gets scaled down to the display, in very rough terms.

From what I've heard, my guess is the "official" mod system is going to be similar to the Steam Workshop You upload a mod to that site, and subject to their rules and T'C's they will take full ownership and all rights to it, and host it at their pleasure for distribution to all platforms.

In other words, just like the Steam Workshop, the IP on any mod you give them is going to be transferred completely and irrevocably to them, and you get a big f*** you for your trouble. Even if they use your mod in a paid DLC, you can't do s**t about it, because you transferred all rights to it, when you uploaded it.

Which is why the Nexus is far more popular a mod site than the SW.

And that is fine, because it's their game, their assets (with certain mods) and their mod tools (with certain tools) but it's something to be aware of.
