Caravan traders disappearing from routes

So, this is my second play-through. In my first game, after unlocking everything to do with Bunker Hill and becoming allied, the caravan traders stopped appearing anywhere. Trashcan Carla, Lucas, etc. I have no mods affecting them at all, or Bunker Hill, and could not find any answers no matter where I looked. ('net, forums, etc.)

 

I eventually gave up and just dealt with it. Now, on my second go 'round, I did a quest for Kessler, which did not ally me with the settlement, but did unlock trading posts. I didn't care about either this time, but once again the trader caravans have disappeared! I know they aren't dead, I could console Trashcan Carla to my player in Sanctuary, and even interact with her, and then she rushed away. I've played and waited for more than long enough for any of them to show up, but they aren't anywhere that I can find.

 

I could find no bug info on this, does anyone have any ideas to get them back on track? It's really annoying and changes the 'feel' of the game.

 

Edit: No trading post mods either, and no trader mods.

Caravans stop appearing in the vanilla game as well when you don't interact with them enough. It's like the game has kind of a "low interest detector" and stops sending traderes around when you don't buy/sell enough times.

Well that bites. I almost always had trade with Carla and Lucas though, so don't know why they would disappear. I suppose I'll keep searching, though that info is disheartening. Thanks Jimmy!

Well, once you discovered Bunker Hill, you can often find Carla, Doc Weathers and Lucas there as they have their own sales counters at Bunker Hill. I've only encountered Carla at Sanctuary, Lucas at Greentop Nursery and Tenpines Bluff and Doc Weathers at County Crossing and The Slog, as far as I can remember.

 

Maybe their "disappearance" is connected with the discovery of Bunker Hill, I don't know. I never paid much attention to the lot as I fast travel to Diamond City to get rid of some of my stuff. Thanks to Percy tending Diamond City Surplus at night, it doesn't matter when you arrive...

I rarely run into hyper Cricket, but saw the Doc, Lucas, and Carla all the time. It's extremely puzzling, since I rarely see any of them at Bunker Hill. I end up going to GoodNeighbor a lot. Works just as well, and I like Daisy and KLEO.

 

It's also puzzling that I can't find jack in the way of information on this!

 

I think next time I start a new game, Bunker Hill can just drop off the map...

Cricket can often be seen at Warwick Homestead or at the small courtyard in front of Vault 81. I bumped into her a couple of times near Diamond City when going to Hangman's Alley and the Greenskins a building further were at it again against either Cricket or the Diamond City guards or both.

 

Maybe most people are like me and never really cared some of the vendors stopped appearing at certain settlements and thus never asked about it.

 

Lucas often was the first one to no longer appear at Tenpines Bluff, mainly because I scrapped the gathering campfire and added a building in its stead. The same goes for Doc at County Crossing. Campfire gone and Doc also gone.

That's where I saw Cricket, the few times I have seen her at all, and only once that recall in Bunker Hill itself.

I purposely built around those gathering fires at Tenpines and County Crossing, as well as at Greentop. They came for a while, and now they don't. Maybe you're right, maybe most don't have an issue with it, but I do, and wish I could find out definitively!
