Power Armor Underwater

Hello, i'd like to ask if anyone could make a mod that allows the player, while wearing power armor underwater, to surface in any point of the lake/pond/river or swim freely like one would without power armor.

I'm thinking about two possible solutions that shouldn't consume too much time and/or resources of the modder: eighter allow the player, while in power armor, to behave like it would without underwater (i think this mod could be useful: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14073/?tab=posts as it allows to use any terminal and workbenches while in power armor), or a modification to the jetpack that allows for its use while underwater. Now, for the jetpack option, since it drains AP like mad, it would be best to disable or lower to a minimum that drain given the fact that in order to get out of water, the usual "flight time" would not be enough because of how deep many underwater areas are.

I've searched all around nexus, and it seems quite strange that no one made such a mod to this day, a lot people love power armor and being limitied to walk on the bottom of the water areas is quite underwhelming.

Have a look at this one, I have it downloaded but have not tried it yet. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25591

Unfortunately that mod, for how gloriuos it is, it doesn't have any of the mechanics requested, only waterbreathing that can be easily achieved with aquaboy/aquagirl or mirelurk cake.

Edit: typo.

No one has'nt really made anysort of mod like this because there is not really anything underwater within fallout. I think it would be a daunting task as far as 3rd person is concerned, since I feel like you would need new swimming animations, the jetpack option may be feasable and also really freaking cool. I hope someone takes this up.

This mod allows you to customize the AP drain in PA (including jetpacks) so there must be a script to apply it only while swimming. Wonder whats blocking jetpack use while underwater?

I agree with the swimming part, that's why i suggested the jetpack. Being able to use the jetpack to get out of water is perfect for situations like accidentally falling into water (e.g. Libertalia), going all the way through Dunwich Borers, etc.

For the script, altough this is purely guessing, there could be a condition like "IF status(is underwater = true); disable jetapck" that constantly checks if the jetpack mod is present on the armor and if it is underwater in order to allow or deny its use for the player. I second that it would be awesome if someone made this and it would be a mod to share with all since no other mod does something essential (IMO) like this.

Power Armor is heavy, and has no provisions for flotation, so, swimming in it would be highly unlikely. I could see an add-on that would give you water-jet-propulsion though. That could be fun. :D

I have found some rather interesting stuff underwater....... More power armor..... and a host of other goodies. (not to mention a lot of trash.....)

I don't see any real reason why the jetpack shouldn't work underwater though. (from a logic standpoint, not a game mechanics standpoint) After all, it's not like its an air breather......

Here's a mod that helps; Jetpack Overhaul by Imp of the Perverse.

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25851

Imp of the Perverse is the author behind Powered Power Armor from Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Jetpack Overhaul uses Fallout 4 Script Extender to alter the way jetpack thrust works. By default, it gives you about 2.5 times the forward movement of vanilla jetpacks. There is even a holotape you can use to customize the jetpack settings. The way it's implemented though, you will get this forward speed boost as long as you hold the "jetpack button" (space bar). This happens even if you don't actually double tap it to fly. You will go running across the Commonwealth at jetpack speed! (Looks kind of silly in 3rd person) He couldn't find a way around this so he just added the jetpack sound while you are running at this speed. This jetpack running even works underwater. Actual underwater speed is about that of a moderate jog. This underwater change was not intentional, but it's a major improvement.

it removes the AP drain by default, but there are settings on the holotape to alter this as well.

For those of you that have to update your Script Extender game every time they update Fallout 4, this mod isn't affected by the Script Extender version. It keeps working just fine as is, regardless of the Script Extender updates.

Running underwater is helpful, yet still not the best solution to get out of water. An example could be Libertalia: you fall into water in the middle of the area and still have to jog your way back to shore, not to mention water areas like the excavation near Sanctuary pre level 12.

I dont see why the devs decided to disable the jetpack underwater, i mean you can even jump underwater but jetpacking your way out of water? Logic=0%

I still hope for a good soul to take over this script, i've looked into CK about this, but alas, i lack the knowledge for a job like this.
