Your dashboard shortcut for FNIS is set up wrong. Edit it.

Before that, verify that FNIS is actually set up correctly.

Stop Vortex and navigate to your game directory / Data /Tools /GenerateFNIS_for_Users and execute FNIS from there.

That is also where your shortcut should point.

Your FNIS paths should be something like this

TARGET - D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\<NAME OF GAME>\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users\GenerateFNISforUsers.exe

START IN - D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\<NAME OF GAME>\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users

Then you can start FNIS right from the dashboard.

I want to follow-up to this thread just in case anyone else is having an issue with getting FNIS to run correctly. I *thought* I had the correct paths set up, but FNIS still would not run correctly. Turns out I had accidently pointed them to the version of FNIS in the Vortex mods version and not the version in the Skyrim SE/Data/Tools directory. Now everything works correctly.
