PC monitor shuts down after playing games like Skyrim.

Yes and I think that has to do with too much dust inside the chassi. When was the last time you clean the chassi from dust?

You see, modern computers today has a safety measure just to prevent the motherboard not being too damaged and having too much dust might damage the motherboard some day in the future if one aren't careful.

You can also buy a better CPU fan, but make sure it's free dust as it's common known that CPU fan will generate a lot of dust.

I hope that you're capable of not giving your computer parts a shock while tending to the cleaning of it. I recommend you clean more. More than just dust it off; clean off the fans blades. If you're doing it yourself I hope you understand how important it is not to give your computer parts any static shock from your body and your tools.

do

It seems that every time I go to play a game, my PC monitor disconnects, and I have to restart the computer to get it working again. Is there anything I can do?

sounds like the monitor cant handle that kind of processing load. maybe new monitor? dont see your specs but i assume theyre ok.

could be a few issues. your using a old monitor and its on its final legs, pc needs a good deep clean. if it gets to hot inside it will auto shutdown. I tend use some compressed air to aid in getting into hard to reach areas for a cloth, then do a once over with a cloth.
