Jittering Physics

Recommended Posts

I recently started playing Fallout 4 again and it's been a lot of fun with all of these mods, but I've had this problem since the start that I can't seem to fix. Whenever I pick up any part of a ragdoll body it jitters, like it's moving really quickly between two positions, and it just looks awful. The same sort of thing happens if I use any sort of player character physics, regardless of which one I use (CBBE physics, CBP physics, Cherry's CBBE Physics, etc.). Also, even if I batch build in bodyslide with no physics whatsoever the same problem happens with the ragdolls (not actually sure if those two things are related in anyway).

Do you have your framerate capped? Game engine doesn't like frame rates over 60FPS, physics get stupid. :D

Yeah I do, but they're capped at 72 (probably because my monitor is 144hz). Is that still alright or should I cap it at 60?

Try shooting them a couple of more times. It sounds like they're not dead yet. :D

Ok sorry, I couldn't resist.

I'm curious, does this happen outdoors also, or just indoors? In any particular area?

I know I've been in a few spots where the collision ratings seem to go through the roof, and just about anything at all jitters like it's bouncing around in side a washer on the spin cycle.

Try and cap at 60, and see if anything changes.

Sorry for the late reply, first time I've been able to test stuff in a few days. I tried capping it at 60 but it came with quite a few other problems (felt really choppy, input lag, screen tearing, etc.) so I may just have to live with it. I even tried using g-sync, as well as changing my monitor's refresh rate to 60hz but there were just so many more problems.

Yeah it happens everywhere and with everything, even picking up inanimate objects (only recently noticed that as it only very slightly jitters).
