Good Day Everyone ^_^ !

Can You explain Me , please , I have BodySlide + CBBE + F4EE + LooksMenu & some more Mods for Visual Effects . So what do I want is to create My Own Preset ( or use existing ) in BodySlide & then to be able to Morph Body using LooksMenu in Game . But I can`t find how to create .json file using BodySlide . By using LooksMenu I can only use Presets that are fully created to be used by LooksMenu . I want some more . Can You explain Me , please , how to do this ?

2 thing - is there any good Mods or Tools for using & creating Faces ( like Bodies in BodySlide ) & to combine It with Preset from BodySlide & then to morph It to .json file for LooksMenu ?

Wish You All The Graces ,

Gl & Hf ^_^ ! ))

You can't.

You create a body in BodySlide and a face in LooksMenu. To save a preset in LooksMenu simply hit the presets button, select the current preset and save. If the presets button is greyed-out, you have the wrong version of LooksMenu. That needs to be the version that goes with the version of the game you're playing.

The preset you save is just for the face. Like I said, for the body you need BodySlide and once you've changed a body to your liking, hit "Save As" (top middle of the BodySlide interface) and give the new body a name and you're done. Body shapes have the .xml extention while character presets (faces) have the .json extention. They can't be merged to form one whole file. it's the game that combines them to produce NPCs and your character.

Face Presets. Body Presets. The latter don't have a category of their own so you'll need to search among the mods.

And next time, please post in the appropriate forum :wink:

Can You explain Me , please , this 1 more thing - .xml of BodySlide - should I drop It to F4SE -> SlidePresets or anywhere else ? Cause when last time I`ve tried My .xml files did not showed in Game -> LooksMenu ( slm ) Presets . How do I apply .xml files to NPC I want ?

The .xml files are dropped in the BodySlide folder but a .nif file is also created and added to the player folder (Fallout 4\Data\meshes\actors\character\PlayerCharacterAssets) and cannot be used in RaceMenu (Skyrim) or LooksMenu (FO4). You leave the xml or nif files alone and don't drop them anywhere. Presets in looksMenu are for faces only. For Fallout 4, when you don't use Unique Player, when you shape a body in BodySlide and use that, every male/female in the game will have the same body, with the same sized attributes, tattoos, etc.

In Skyrim/Skyrim SE there's an add-on for using bodymorph sliders in RaceMenu, but I can't remember if there's a similar mod for FO4. That's the only way to change shape of the body in RaceMenu/LooksMenu.

You keep confusing BodySlide with Looksmenu. The first is for shaping a body, the latter for shaping a face.

Bodyslide settings can be included inside a face preset. I think for the face presets this function is called Body Morph. By default CBBE should have ingame sliders, CBBE.esp must be present and active in the load order. This tool https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41781 can be used to convert settings from xml bodyslide to face preset body morph. But you need to manually open files(xml and json) and copy these settings to/from the tool. Important for ingame sliders to work are two things - in bodyslide to enable option Build Morphs, and build the body with Zeroed Sliders. The beginning of a face preset file with body morphs should look something like this:

{
"BodyMorphs" : {
"7B Lower" : 0.5027941465377808,
"7B Upper" : 0.5027977824211121
},
"Gender" : 1,
"HairColor" : "Fallout4.esm|19EE5E",
"HeadParts" : [
"Fallout4.esm|1E55C4",
"MiscHairstyle.esp|0008B0",
"Fallout4.esm|04D0E9",
"Fallout4.esm|0CFB4E",
"Fallout4.esm|0CFB3F",
"Fallout4.esm|11CCBC"
],

This is just an example where I set only two of the sliders to 50%.

Hi Basaro. With the vanilla game there isn't any way to create a body preset that also has a face preset directly attached to it in the same file, that uses bodyslide presets. The vanilla game doesn't have the functionality for bodyslide slide settings.

It IS possible to edit the particulars of certain body spots with hexadecimal settings. But that's not something that is easy, it generally takes a couple of months worth of experimentation just to figure out which values in the strings to edit, and what does what.

And even then, you're not going to get results like bodyslide. So it's pretty much not worth the effort.

For what you are asking about, and wanting to do, Like has been mentioned before, you can't really do. Largely due to the facts that BodySlide and LooksMenu are two completely different applications, both of which use different types of files.

Bodyslide uses files which are meant for telling 3d meshes how to use coordinates. (Thats actually not the correct term, but I'm trying to avoid tech speak here.) Looksmenu uses javascript files to interpret different values.

Now, however. Not all hope is lost.

What you can do, is create a very generic preset in bodyslide. Looksmenu will not record any of those settings from the preset.

But, you can then go into looksmenu and then adjust the sliders to how you want them to be, and then save that preset. As Robotized mentioned, it will then save the slider values that you've inputted from the BS settings into the LM preset.

From there, you can just open the .json file for your preset that you just made from the folder in your C:\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets folder and open it with Notepad.exe which comes included with every version of windows.

The area that I have highlighted in this pic is the recorded values that you have inputted with the sliders that LM has recorded. Like Robotized was saying.

hacdf09k_t.jpg

That a thumbnail, you can click on it to see the full-sized pic.

Now, this is javascript, so you HAVE TO HAVE the brackets and comas in there correctly, or it's not going to work.

But from this preset, if I highlight that part of the file with my mouse, and then choose Edit>Copy I can then open up a different looksmenu preset face, and then choose Edit>Paste and transfer those settings into that other LM preset. Then you either choose to save the edited file, or choose to do Save As and name the file something else. Which you would need to make sure that you save it as a .json file, with the file selected as ALL FILES in notepad.

So the basic gyst of it, is once you've created a slider preset in game, you can copy and paste the settings from that face preset into another one.

Keep in mind tho, that the game and LM doesn't load these sliders up by default. In order to get them to show up, you have to be in LooksMenu, open the Body options that brings up the Weight Triangle, and then use the Advanced options in order for these slider values to go into effect.

Robotized - LOL This was stuff that I all learned thanks to You. Back when we were discussing whether or not my BS settings had gone into that first preset that I'd released. So yeah, thanks again for getting me started on getting to know this stuff :smile:

BodyMorph in BodySlide only adds those morphs so you can use the morph sliders in RaceMenu. If you don't build a body in BodySlide with 'Build Morphs' ticked, then using the sliders in RaceMenu won't change anything. There's no face settings involved. I'm talking Skyrim/SSE here. Can't remember about LooksMenu for FO4 as it's been too long since I played that game.

The

Hate to resurrect an old thread but you can do this and it does work. The "convert xml to json" tool for skyrim works for fo4 see here

whatever body your converting needs to have slider support for looks menu otherwise looks menu wont be able to edit the body shapes.

The formats are not the same. This exports to BodyGen morphs and templates, not looksmenu presets. The presets discussed here are the ones saved/loaded in-game via the LooksMenu interface. The output from jBS2BG is to make files that genereate random bodies based on templates. I don't want go say too much about this program because it might confuse someone between the two but...This program works very well for creating morphs and templates so that you have a large diversity of shapes and sizes throughout the population of the game. It can be used to change just the player's body but not the face.
