First time using vortex masterlist/userlist not found

as the title says this is my first time , after syncing everything , i got various notifications aand some had easy fix buttons

i choose the custom install directory installed while downloading and installed the mod manager in a driver other than C

upon firing and recognizing fallout 4 , i started to fix the notifications one by one

1: downloaded extended scripts mod which was recommended

2: made the download and mods store folder on the same drive as the vortex install drive.

3: applied all available fixes in the notifications

then i was left with 3 notifications that say

failed to update masterlist

failed to load master -/userlist

failed to load master -/userlist

yeah getting the last two as duplicate notifications

i tried surfing the web and found none of the stuff is relatable in my case.

one solution was to go to appdata\roaming\votex and delete the userlist.yaml and the file in the master list folder , problem is while i deleted the userlist.yaml , there was nothing in the masterlist folder to begin with...

i heard vortex was frustrating and inferior to use vs mo2 but went with it due to the fact its user friendly , now i get why its almost never recommended.

if someone can be kind enough to help me fix this that would be great, otherwise ill have to dable into mod organizer 2

If the masterlist is having a problem updating, then you're having a problem connecting to github.

If the masterlist is having a problem updating, then you're having a problem connecting to github.

yes except i am fully connected to the internet

Yes, anyone can be fully connected to the internet and have a problem connecting to one website.

Just like when the Nexus Goes down sometime and I get a 502 gateway error, but I can connect to every other website.

Some websites I can't connect to because I use a VPN and they have the IP address I'm using blocked as a result.

Also, there's no need to make the Download and Mod Staging Folder on the same drive as Vortex.

The download folder can be ANYWHERE, and the Mod Staging folder, needs to be on the same drive as the GAME, and you can set that on a game-by-game basis.

yes but theres no apparent cause , vpn is a no go too , never used one. and seemingly tons of people have this issue but the possible fixes i posted above wont work due to files not existing in the first place apparently.

so far im just downloading some texture mods and its working but the notifications wont go away. any idea what might be causing it to not connect?

YOu could have an AntiVirus program that's preventing you from connecting

I know I can connect, so it must be something on your end.

I would turn off any AntiVirus I had, then redownload and install Vortex right over your current install.

It's very possible your antivirus blocked a section of Vortex from installing.

That happens quite a bit.
