A Completly overhauled Wedding Ceremony

I was thinking.

Why dont you get to choose a suit or Dress for you Wedding, or invite people of your choice?

How come it takes only a day for everyone to arrive at that very Bland Temple of Mara. You should have a choice of location.

And why is it that your Special Day costs nothing at all? Well, I think that this would be a great idea for a mod, not too hard either.

I would make it myself but I have very limited Modding knowledge, so thats why I am writing this for you, as an Idea for what the weddings should be like.

I am certain you could include lots more than the few ideas I have said, so please, give it a go.

Sounds like a great idea but I do have a few questions.

  • Who pays for the wedding? Traditionally, in our culture, it is the father of the bride ...
  • Who decides on the decorations? I wouldn't want to start out married life with an unhappy bride because I had chosen Thistles instead of Roses because I liked the color better.
  • Will a registry be set up at all the local merchants so guests don't all get the same bread knife/deamon slayer?
  • Married life interaction right now is rather sparse. It might be nice to be able to go out on a date with my wife or at least take her dungeon crawling every once in a while with the rest of the team.

I have been thinking of making myself a lil mod that will just add some random people to the temple, and maybe some flowers around and such. Only problem is that, since I don't know about scripting or anything else besides clutter and NPC making, the mod would just need to be installed before marrying, and removed afterward. I would love to se your ideas happen, hope someone picks up your idea!

Just a note: I don't know the wedding traditions of ancient Nords in Northern and Northwestern Europe, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're outside the norms of what we consider normal in the modern age for a wedding. In fact, the vanilla wedding ceremony might be the closest to the modern feel of a wedding that made sense compared to Nordic weddings. But again, I speak out of ignorance. Just something I thought should be considered.

If you have any Ideas AT ALL just chuck them into this thread. I guess because not many people in skyrim have Fathers the player would have to pay. And dating before the wedding so you dont just instantly fall in love might be good.

Do you thing like making it that you could have a small wedding at your house with just friends for free would work.
