  1. Normally you shouldn't change anything with the fan settings. At standard they should be set to an automatic profile. I'm not familiar with amd cards and their software, but I would never go on an air cooled card with a fixed fan speed. Maybe you could change the fan curve or something if you think your fans are too loud. Limiting it to 60% or something like that, if your card is still cooled adequately with it. Going lower than the standard settings would probably end in overheating your card --> lower performance.
  2. I can understand you, had some problems with nmm , too. Sadly there's no real alternative to it (I will never in my life use this bethesda.net or steam workshop xD), but maybe you want to look into the modified version of Mod Organizer. Some features aren't working (basic things like installing mods worked fine for me), but as a limited version until nmm works better for you it might be a solution. However setting it up isn't so easy as with nmm or the standard MO, but there also should be some tutorials about it.
  3. wow, the caps lock is strong in this one :P But I have to correct your comment about Mod Organizer. In my opinion ("only" modding for the last 3 years) Mod Organizer is completely stable for normal Skyrim (in over two years not a single error, bug or anything) and even the 2.0 beta for games like Fallout 4 worked fine for me. I would even go so far as to say it's more stable and generally better then nmm ;-) . For the "old" Skyrim there will never be something else for me and I'm still using it. Sadly there's no real support for SkyrimSE, but my hope will never fade :-(
  4. Fallout 4 should be the heavier game. (of course depending on your ingame settings, but at max it's Fallout 4)
  5. I don't know if this helps, but I'm running a setup nearly the same as you and get at 2560x1440 stable 60 fps (limited through enb) and without something betwenn 70 and 90. However I got the same issue with low fps in some areas with watching at certain points, but the last steam update for Skyrim fixed that for me. The only real difference I can see is that i'm using 16GB of Ram, which souldn't make a difference, cause Skyrim never even takes over 4,5GB for me and that I'm not using Mod Organizer. I heard that some people have problems running Skyrim and Mod Organizer from two different drives (sadly some say that they have no problems, so I don't know what I should think now ^^' ). I don't know exactly if that's possible, but have you tried switching Mod Organizer so they're both on the same drive? Would be worth a try ... even if with two ssd's there should be no problems.
  6. 1. ok 2. not ok. and that's exactly what the quote says. the mods can only be installed in the Skyrim folder. There's no other way. That's not an old post, it's just the way it is ^^ The only way around I know is Mod Organizer
  7. "it depends what you mean. Do you mean download zipped/rarred mods to one place but get your mod manager to install them to skyrim as normal? Or do you mean install the mods to a different location altogether? With NMM you can install IT to another drive no problem. Set it to download mods to another drive no problem too... but you can't get it to install mods to a location other than the Skyrim installation dir. With Mod Organizer you could probably do all of it since it doesn't actually edit Skyrim's data directory, but you will run into performance issues. I don't personally know how bad they'd be. If it worked properly, I doubt they'd affect gameplay. I expect loading times would increase." - perilousrob "So my Skyrim is installed on my SSD, and my mods are installed on my HDD, thanks to Mod Organizer. NMM won't be able to do like that, cause it installs mods into Skyrim folder. MO installs the mods in its own folder, so it doesn't take space on Skyrim folder." - Tiwenty Hope it's alright if I quote this two here... (it's from the reddit thread you linked) This maybe explains better what I wanted to say ^^ With nmm there's no way to install mods outside of your Skyrim Folder... With MO it's possible, but I think there's no support for SkyrimSE. However, installing NMM on another drive would be no problem and could save space with it on your main drive.
  8. Maybe it's me  english isn't my native language. But if I understood you correct. You want to use NMM, without the mods being in your Skyrim directory and that's as far as I know not possible. Whenever you add a mod to nmm, the programm stores this mod in your mods folder (for me D:/NexusModManager/SkyrimSE/Mods) and if you then install the mod, it will be unpacked into your Skyrim directory. There's no way around them being copied into the skyrim data folder. I used Mod Organizer for some time due to that "double storage" (mod organizer only loads your mods into Skyrim when you start it, so your data folder stays clean), however I think there's no real support for SkyrimSE in Mod Organizer. So the only way I see, for your C to stay "clean", is that you install SkyrimSE on your E drive too. If someone knows a better solution, or if I'm wrong about NMM please correct me, I'm no complete expert on nmm
  9. If you have 64 bit Windows your RAM limit is increased to 16G. I have four 4G sticks in mine and Windows sees it all. I think spinsix was regarding to the 4gb vram/ram limit on directx9. Windows isn't limited (ok with 64 bit somewhere over 100 GB and even higher on pro Versions and all those stuff). So even if Windows "sees" all the ram/vram it can't use all of it in directx9 games.
  10. Normally running the game as administrator should fix that problem. However for a permanent fix you should look into on of the youtube tutorials regarding that "nmm no write permissions", cause that will be a bit more difficult and easier to explain through a video-tutorial. Or you install nmm on a second drive (if possible), that would also solve the problem.
  11. If the noise only occurs in certain areas I doubt it's from the gpu fans, if they would be the problem, the noise would be there the whole time. To test that you could manually adjust your fan speed with a program like AMD Overdrive or something like that. Regarding hialgo boost i'm not completly sure, but I think it works with some kind of dynamic resolution and that "could" (never used it on my own, so I don't know for sure) affect your graphics card. Maybe you could try turning it off in the areas (should work with a hotkey...maybe F10, don't know for sure) where the problems occur and see if the problem is still there. Otherwise I can't help you, sry :-/
  12. Due to the fact that nmm just holds copies/backups of the mods in the Mod folder (hope i'm saying this right) and the actual mods are being installed in your Skyrim directory there should be no problem. I did the same thing for the "normal" Skyrim Edition and never had any problems.
  13. Maybe coil whine (high-pitched sound coming from the graphics card)? Can happen when your graphics card get under high load, or displays very high fps (as in loading screen for an example). Sometimes it helps to turn on v-sync or limit fps, or in some cases a game can have nearly no coil whine out of no reasons (i'm no pro at it, but i thinks it's something with the power draw of the graphics card and the load on your psu). Why some other games wouldn't have coil whine in your case i can't explain, would be good to know at which fps Skyrim runs. - Coil whine would be nasty, but nothing to worry about, it can't break anything. However the way of installing Skyrim or the mods shouldn't cause this. And most of the mods you're running aren't very heavy on gpu or cpu, so the amount shouldn't be a problem (Skyrim can be run easily with 100-200 mods if not all of them are 4k textures or heavy scripts).
  14. In the SkyrimPrefs.ini is line called "fDynamicDOFBlurMultiplier" under [Display], which set to 0 (normal value is 0.8 ) should get rid of the dof. Edit: The setting bDoDepthOfField=0 under [imagespace] should have the same effect.
  15. I recently looked into the minimum and recommend specs for the Skyrim Special Edition and compared it to the Fallout 4 ones. When looking into the graphics section the recommend specs are nearly the same, but one the cpu side the Special Edition recommends a much weaker processor than Fallout 4 did. So assuming now the Special Edition will need less power, anyone also heard something about better optimization as in Fallout 4? (I know it's a bit early for that, but maybe one of you has seen something about it somewhere.) Cause in my case, I experienced poor performance in cases like volumetric effects, god-rays and all this stuff , which will now be added to Skyrim through the Special Edition.
  16. Hey there, i need help with some enb related problem. Skyrim works just fine, but when i want to close it (not using Alt+F4 or anything like this) my screen just goes black. Since the last time it worked i haven't installed new mods, or updated the Nvidia drivers, etc. The problem just occurred out of nothing. However, without enb running everything works fine. Someone else had this and found some way to fix it? After the black screen my only way to escape is to restart the computer. I'm using Windows 10 and a gtx 1080 with drivers version 372.54.
  18. Precision X is on my C drive and skyrim on D ... just being curious, which Version of precision x are you using?
  19. When using enb wrapper Version EVGA Precision X won't work for me although OSD is turned off. Injector Version works fine. You know a fix for this? Seems precision x is blocking the d3d9.dll constantly when running.
  20. Moving only the game to another could be problematic. You would need to adjust your Mod Manager to the right directory, which should be going fine, but adjusting Steam is just f*#@ed up... don't know why they never made a build in option to move games to other drives or locations. I know there are some tutorials how to trick steam and move games without downloading or installing them over but I personally never tried them. If u're using Mod Organizer for all of your mods it would work even with reinstalling the game I think (with the adjusts in mod organizer itself). Cloning would be the easiest option, but I also have no experience with Skyrim there...
  21. I tried an SSHD once and i couldn't even notice a difference to an good HDD. However using an SSD increased the perfomance in my case extremly. Loading Screens are much shorter (i'm playing with 2-4k textures and over 300 mods) and i could even see some improvment in texture loading. But i wouldn't recommend an SSD "just" for Skyrim. They're very expensive for just this use. So stick with an HDD or try to go for an smaller SSD would be my recommendation.
  22. After some time of playing i noticed these http://www.bilder-upload.eu/show.php?file=8f6f87-1471546417.png black dots or whatever they are around objects and on characters. (sry for the link, but somehow i couldn't get the size of the image to under 250kb) Someone know how to get rid of them? I get this problem on low and max settings. Screenshot was taken with nearly max settings. //Solved
  23. I'm using NMM with Windows 10 and have no problems, everything works fine.
  24. If my english is bad, sorry ^^ hope you can understand it. I don't know if this is the problem, but the gtx 970 have a problem with it's memory. If the card uses more then 3,5GB vram their can be huge fps drops. So if you're using many high texture mods their can be fps drops cause the card is hitting it's limit of 3,5gb und have to use the 0,5gb reserve. If i'm right nvida has released drivers that should limit the card to 3,5gb so the reserve will not be used, maybe you should look for new drivers. Other games may run fine, cause they don't hit the 3,5+gb. (a sample: i'm using a gtx 980 matrix and in bf4 even on max settings with 1440p resolution the card goes only to 3,1gb vram usage) Heavy skyrim mods could maybe easily reach the 3,5gb. You could try an monitor-program that shows the gpu usage and vram load, this way you could see if the vram limit is hit. Hope this will help you  Edit: haven't seen that you tried it without the 2k texture mods ... and don't know how to delete my post -.- Maybe this will help, but i think i'm wrong then.
  25. Like in the picture, my water have confusing bugs. i Have already tried several enb's and water mods, also i changed the settings for waterreflection bot nothing helps. Someone knows where this bug come from? Edit 03.05.2015: Could compare same enb to my new pc, the problem was probatly my laptops graphics card.
