  1. I did the update to 1.5 and after starting up Skyrim with NMM and selecting continue I received these error messages: This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue loading? I responded no and then got this: [WETriggerScript<(01099883)> Warning: on init () my holdLocation property has not been set, this will result in errors. 1.I have very few mods installed 2. Only 2 of them were activated. (I don't know if that last bit of info is relevant or not but there ya go.) Other than starting a new game and trashing all my old saves is there any way to fix this? :wallbash:
  2. Oh, another steam lover. I can't wait till another gaming company (like CDREDProject) comes along with some Superior titles and does not require their customers to jump through hoops so they (the game co.) can maintain a phony warm and fuzzy feeling about piracy of their products. At that time steam and all the creepy game companies that use their services will be thrown under the largest bus as rapidly as possible (at least by me.) S**t even GFWL was never as much as a pain in the A*S as steam.:down:

  5. I recently did a fresh install on a new desktop system and encountered this problem: Game will not start with the launcher even with "run as admin". However, game does start when using the witcher2 exe from the folder. When attempting to use the launcher there is a delay of several seconds till it opens on the desktop but when it does anything selected from it fails to respond. It was fully patched to latest version. P.S. Another question I have is: I have both Witcher 1 and 2 installed on my laptop and I'd like to know if my witcher 2 install on the D.T. Comp. can get the (not sure of proper description) migration from witcher 1 into witcher 2 by copying the last save from witcher1 into the save folder on the new witcher2 install on the D.T. Comp.:unsure:
  6. Okay, I read the Pinned on the firs page so I don't expect to be noticed much, I searched through the first 100 of the 400+ pages here and I hope my suggestions are not being redundant. That being stated here we go. Request: A stormchaser hat with small stat bonuses(think shady hat) and goggles totally removed available in other colors like black, brown, olive. Suggestion: I dunno if anyone remembers this file (it's no longer available on FO3 Nexus as far as I can see, unless the file name was changed.) The name of it was Modder Tribute Caps and it had some interesting ballcaps, the 2 that mainly interested me were the Vault tech and Nuka cola caps, as I recall they looked quite good compared with standard vanilla caps. Most all had logos. Im not sure who the author of the mod is but if I recall correctly It was either uploaded or authored by someone named Skypoppa. I still have the file but there is a problem with it : when you attempt to ware any of the hats they appear out of place (on your shoulder instead of your head) If any one remembers this file and can fix it and upload it again (in a functional version) that would be just peachy.:biggrin:
  7. Duno if any of you guys remember experiencing the *following* (guess it's been a while since your last play thru.) I have to say that this part of the game is very disappointing because of the inflexibility of the options you get to use to work through it. *I also now noticed that (even with all settings set to lowest) the game locks up if you try to use Axii on any of the kik workers.* Anyway...I managed to win the fight an slag the queen *censored* but was not able to loot the corpse so reload time ( another minus, that the game won't let you loot when being attacked.) I really enjoyed this game up till now despite the fact that it uses the same type of lame inventory system as DAO (hated that game and never finished it.) :yucky:
  8. Thanks for all the tips guys, So here is where I am and apparently this encounter with the Kik queen can only be completed (I haven't been able to yet) if things are done in a correct sequence. Geralt has looted both the corpse and the chest and is in the large chamber; the queen seems to be stuck in the entrance to this chamber (destroyed the supports with Aard.) She is not dead and won't advance past the entrance way;she just sits there occasionally stomping her little feet (or what ever they are.) If I move Geralt closer to her she does the toe tapping routine as well, and if any attack is made the other Kik's sometimes emerge from the floor(yep, all of em) and then it's pretty much game over. Any use of Aard on any of the supports in the main chamber at this time only results in a lot of dust falling, rumbling noise, and the game screen shaking a lot but no boom :wallbash:

Thanks Tommy5761, and thanks to you too Dragonbird I actually tried setting to "Low" in game settings and it seemed to get worse: I started from a previous save in the big battle with Salamandra and the game was locking up there (when it had not previously.) Now I think I've solved it : I changed the setting to "User" and set Anisotropic to 4x. Made it through the battle and all the way to the Kik lair so I think that's resolved the problem. Now if I can just make it through the lair (any tips mucho appreciated.) :P P.S. UAC was never an issue as I was running as admin.

As soon as the Kikamore lair sequence runs with all its vidi clips the game just locks up. I have managed to get as far as the 3rd entrance way (past the queen and the workers) but always have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to task Mgr and kill the process. I'm pretty sure I got all the patches. I'm surprised that I'm having issues like this so far into the game. Anyone experience this problem or have suggestions on a fix?
  11. I have both NV and FO3 GOTY installed. NV and FOMM seem to play nice together but when attempting to run FO3: FO3 will start but crashes when wanderer tries to enter Megaton (other locations too.)   12. Okay, got the 1.2 patcher and ran it. So far I see no difference. One thing in particular is something mentioned in the 1.2 read me: " An option has been added to the game menu allowing game saves to be deleted. To delete a game save, highlight the relevant item and press the ‘Delete’ key." Either 1 this did not work for me. 2 It actually wasn't included/implemented. 3 My game was not patched correctly (although the patcher reported a successful update.) 4 I need to start a new game to get the improvements this patch provides??? Another thing I noticed is there seems to be no way to determine what version of the game you are running, at least not from the game launcher. If anyone knows the answer to this little riddle please feel free to share :D I'm trying hard to like this game but like many recent rpg blockbusters it seems to contain far to much stuff I detest (way to much window dressing/ to much video clip cut sequences vs free movement/choice, freaky inventory occurrences.) I have noticed in some of the conversations with npc's where you are given a choice of dialog responses and if you don't respond in what ever the game considers a timely fashion then a choice is made for you. Hows that for killing suspension of disbelief? :no:
  13. I am trying to conclude this quest so that Cass gets both perks (as documented on Wiki NV portal.) Did everything except killing Van Graffs. As soon as I enter the Silver Rush and the firefight begins my game crashes (had visited earlier in the quest to steal the evidence and had to snuff one of them.) This part of the quest seems to be so linear as to be un-completable if the Van Graffs jobs are not done. Ridiculous quest afa game balance is concerned, not only are they all overpowered they can detect you with a high stealth, stealth boy activated and stealth mag activated. Any comments, suggestions etc? :down: :wallbash:
  14. Anyone know what the version # is for the most recent patch (p.c. platform ?) My apologies if I missed this bit of info if posted here or elsewhere, if not then thanks so much to Scream/Bethesda for giving us all the mushroom treatment. :whistling:

I've been playing Bethesda titles going back to the second Elder Scrolls game, Dagger Fall ( ah the bad old dos days) and the one (and only) thing I can say in their defense is when it comes to buggy releases they sure don't stand alone. There have been plenty of other titles from other game companies that where bugged to hell on release. I think it comes down to $ and cutting corners to get a product out within a specified period. That's just how it is. As far as content goes I haven't really seen anything in NV (so far) that blew my dress up. I'm really starting to think they are becoming dependent on the modding community to pick up the slack as far as content is concerned. So yes I agree with those who consider NV to be a mega expansion. BTW anyone else out there miss Dogmeat? I actually thought he would have fit into this game more then FO3.
  16. This is positively the last time I purchase a Bethesda title if they choose to continue to implement such convoluted security schemes. Where shall I begin...okay at the beginning. I missed the boat on pre-order but managed to snag a CE copy at Bestbuy this am (that's the end of the good news.) It seems that contrary to the little warning on the back of the box a simple activation is not what is required to play the game, you need to dl the whole f***ing game from Steam and be forever joined at the hip to them to access the game. I guess I should have seen it coming, with the recent trend of using archaic fossilized music for games (Bioshock, Fallout 3.) Just another way for the companies to trim $$ off actual original content and I don't want to hear any crap about how it fits into the Fallout universe (the first iterations of Fallout did not need such rubbish.) To me this is just one indication of how we the players are getting less for our $. I'm reasonably confident that another large chunk of the budget got sucked up by the so called voice talent. Who the hell needs these over fed over paid Hollywood a****s. I understand that game companies need to protect their "Intellectual Property" but pissing off loyal customers, is to me not high on the scale of intellect, it's just short sighted, quick $ tactics. Enjoy my 60+$ Bethesda, if you continue on this path it's the last $ you'll get fro me. I strongly discourage those of you that have not purchased or pre-ordered yet to save your $ from the pig trough.
  17. What I want to do: Change the outcome of Rileys Rangers/Statesman Hotel quest, specifically the debriefing dialog at rangers h.q. I think his can be done with the setstage command but I'm not sure how. I did the quest but one of the rangers snuffed it in the final firefight at the Statesman. I resd the one that died (Brick)but when doing the debriefing report to Riley one of the dialog choices is: sorry about brick. Quest is unaware of the resurrection. When I type setstage in console using quest id it shows the stages followed by 0 or 1 but I have no way of knowing which one might decide all rangers survive.
  18. Another way to go if you already have the item in your inventory and want the base id is use the player.showinventory command in the console. It will show you everything in your inventory and the base id's for all that you have there. if for some reason an item you are looking for doesn't show up: close out of console, go into inventory, remove the item (you can just drop it or put it in a container) then close inventory. Place the item back in your inventory, open the console again and use the command again. Bingo, it shows up. :wink:

  20. It seems this problem that needs to be resolved with a dispute filed with the CC company. EA is a bit to busy rolling on the floor laughing in piles of customers $.
  21. OS Win7 HP DA:O Retail DVD (un-patched) Purchased and started playing the game on 3/29. Had an issue with downloading the included bonus DLC. Contacted Tech Support and problem was resolved (there was a problem with Dupdater/.NET Framework.) 4/14 Made a Bioware point purchase. When logged in I am unable to dl available dlc because point balance is zero (I did not receive a redeem code for the points I purchased) Contacted Tech Support by chat, twice (no resolution.) Called Tech Support and after rehashing the history I was told I needed to speak to a higher tier Tech. I could not wait and so I made an appointment for a call back ( was set for 11 am yesterday.) Did not get call back. Contacted Tech support by E-mail and was given another run around to rehash information. My conclusion: Unless you deal with a upper tier Tech, you are talking to Crack headed Parrot-Chimps. I assume when you purchase points you are supposed to be assigned a redeem code for them? They never will answer that question. I provided all requested transaction info : Name, Acc., order#, etc. There is a pdf guide on the DA site that purports to instruct users on how to redeem points but completely misses the mark on a key piece of info: where do you get the redeem code after you have purchased the points? I will NEVER Purchase another product that has the EA logo on it.
  22. I think you are mistaken, it does work (just not for me anymore with my original dog that I started the game with.) If you look at any of the lists of con commands on the cheat sites there is a command: runscript zz_addparty (used to break the party limit) then runscript zz_addparty name of char will make that char join your party the added char does not appear in the interface but does appear in the other controls (char, inv. , etc.) Beware if you try it as it (from my recent exp.) has it's problems.
  23. DA:O retail un-patched DVD with wardens keep and stone prisoner installed. Win7 Home premium 64 This problem seemed to show up after I had added Dog in the party in the Radcliffe castle quest (fade portion.) Dog was teleported into the fade with Morrigan but on completion of the fade did not get T.P.'d back to the castle with Morrigan. I tried to add him back again with the runscript zz addparty command and it no workie. When I moved to a location where I could use the party Icon I discovered that he (dog no longer existed in companion selection screen.) I then tried to add him using the default name (dog), which worked but was only done as a test. I then reloaded a previous save and got him back, took him back to camp so he would not be in the party when doing castle rad/fade quest, did the quest. After that I can't add him as fifth party member anymore. He continues to function as member of normal (4) party, but if I try to add him using runscript zz_addparty Name nothing happens, however all other console commands that I have used continue to work. Anyone know a fix for this?
