I have thought about doing a bunch of stuff for it, there is a lot of potential left. But, I'm finally playing Skyrim for once (I've never even finished it, lol!) so I'm rather enjoying how that's going. Some things I've been pondering just off the top of my head: General Stores integration, maybe a farm and sizeable stable, an outside guard house with lots of space for more followers and maybe even some merchants that chill in a guest house. But anyway enough of that, I can go on and on about what I'd like to do with it. ;D

It's not for everyone, that much is true. There are so many wonderful player homes out there to choose from! Good luck on your quest for your next uber home.

Poll: Should Hot Files Be More Dynamic?
TheGreenLion replied to TheGreenLion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@ Nudedragon: Good on you for suggesting it, you might be after something more simple in design but that might be a better way to do it. It doesn't have to be complicated, it could be as simple as adding it to the Preferences page as checkboxes that filter the Hot Files content. Obviously it's a bit more than that under the hood. I do like the Featured Files as I've said, it's a very good step in the right direction. @ jackowonderful: I believe that it's how many downloads they get within a set time of being released, it doesn't seem to be endorsements. After a week is up another takes it's place, but like you've mentioned the sheer amount of certain types of mods overwhelm the Hot Files so we don't really see much of 'unpopular' mods. When I say unpopular I mean that the community on average leans toward "pervy" types of mods, although on occasion I see something different up there. It's just not that common even though there are thousands of mods hosted.- 18 replies

Weather and Lighting mods are going to be what you look for. Climates of Tamriel is quite popular and you can make it that dark via the installer option. There might be some other overhauls like it, but I use it and I think it's pretty great. Bleh, prod beat me to it. :ninja:

I never pick plants until I stop next to one, and then sporadically collect any more I spy in the area. When I go back to my Hearthfire house, I never remember to snag something for the child(ren) and feel slightly bad for a little bit afterwards. I think about catching the butterflies, but end up watching them instead. I'll check my map to make sure where the objective is, only to find a few minutes later than I've been going the other way even after checking. Hmm, maybe more later. Stuff to do!

Airo-Sei: Skyrim Custom Follower Pre-Release Info
TheGreenLion replied to AirtightSpring3's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
An Argonian follower?! You sir, are crazy...in a good way! I look forward to seeing this, such a thing...it has not been done. -
I think the problem is not so much that the content is adult, but that it's the predominant type of mod that shows up in the Hot Files. On average the community goes for this stuff like mice after peanut butter (bad analogy I know). Mod authors make it more than any other type of mod. The result is that the Hot Files gets cluttered with "pervy" mods. I know there's a lot of good mods that contribute to the amount of content, but you hardly see them and may not even realize that it exists. I just found out there is a mod out there that disguises your character by wearing faction related clothes. I was thinking about it as there was a topic recently. It's been there almost a year to this day and I never knew! Things like that are really awesome and add to the gameplay rather than the eyecandy. Maybe that's what it's about essentially. Too many eyecandy mods brushing aside content/gameplay mods. I don't mean things like Skyrim Flora Overhaul, Realistic Weather and Lighting, Detailed Rugs and so on. I daresay the authors of the content and gameplay mods have worked just as hard on their project but they receive very little in the way of advertisement. The Featured Files part I do like, it at least gets some of that out there but people do pay attention to the Hot Files big time in comparison. It's the main advertisement for the site but it isn't being utilized to potential I think. It could be used in a way that presents your site as promotional of all mods hosted here. Anyway, that I think may be closer to the issue. But as only one person that's just my opinion.

XBOX modding is not supported here, you'll have to go elsewhere for help with that.
-
The trouble is that it persists through a new game with no mods, so assuming that without there's nothing left in your Skyrim folder that shouldn't be...I can't really think that it would be Skyrim. That's just my best guess is that perhaps the most common "reinstall/update your drivers" might be the quickest route. Not really a lot on this sort of flickering so it's a pain trying to find something that seems worthwhile to try.
-
Well I didn't find a lot on the topic, this topic was for Realistic Lighting overhaul but perhaps it might help. You don't have that in your load order but the principle issue sounds the same.
-
Check to see if your drivers are up to date too, had to do mine recently (Nvidia card started giving me a light green Skyrim). I was using Project ENB Natural at the time but it seemed not to be the issue. Anyway, also use Steam to verify the game cache (no files missing). Go to Library --> Games --> Skyrim and right-click on it, select Properties --> Local Files and click Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Takes a little bit but it just searches to see if any files that were installed initially are still there and replaces them if they are missing.

Coming Very Soon: Civil War Overhaul
TheGreenLion replied to Apollodown's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I enjoyed that marketing pitchâ„¢ Now if one does lose, does it prompt you to try again (as in reset the stage) or might there be an option....to keep certain Jarls (swaying their side/killing the only other option)? I keep trying to imagine how it will all look...but I find there's too much to think about at once. It ALL sounds good. -
Poll: Should Hot Files Be More Dynamic?
TheGreenLion replied to TheGreenLion's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The problem is not with effort, but mostly so that there are other things on the Hot Files that represent each category from the front page. There are plenty of mods being released but we only see the most popular of the week out of the entire database. The goal is to not only show that diversity but bring to light some of the less popular but superb mods being created. For example, things that are not an armor, weapon, companion, nude body or decidedly adult in nature. Fun fact, while my mod was a Featured File it received more attention than not. That's the idea, to bring the many thousands of mods some attention as a whole. People might not have to ever ask again why an adult mod is more popular than an awesome quest that another modder worked on. For that matter, and Adult category would be something else to think of.- 18 replies

Coming Very Soon: Civil War Overhaul
TheGreenLion replied to Apollodown's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I might actually be interested in doing the CW quest once this rolls out. Last time it was pretty darn...bland. That and I'm still deciding who my character should support this time around. :P -
It will do what you want, or you can try Extensible Follower Framework. Maybe even Amazing Follower Tweaks has this included?

This is a poll that spawned from reading a conversation earlier about the Hot Files being clogged with typical and ultimately less diverse content being featured. Now it's just a suggestion for a future Hot Files system should the wonderful folks running Skyrim Nexus choose to ponder what they might do about it if anything. So be honest and if you have further commentary go ahead and say it! This is not a battlefield for a flame war though, everyone should be able to post their ideas and debate in a respectable manner (anywhere on the Nexus for that matter). Please strive to do so, I'd rather not have to request that it be locked or get it locked because some folks get out of hand. My idea of a better system would be to have Hot Files featured for each Category. By default, the Hot Files would cycle through the list giving five mods from each category some much needed 'face time' whether it be decided as 5-10 minutes or 24 hours. More than that, I would like the given categories to be set either as a preference or just to check them out at will instead of waiting for it to cycle through. If you're only looking for certain categories perhaps you can disable or enable which ones you would like to have displayed. Some categories are a little iffy, like Models and Textures. It's a very broad range that encompasses anything from the texture of the dirt/grass/snow on the ground to the ever-present and popular nude bodies. Not sure how to get around that, it's a sticking point for me right now. But either way, I think it would be an overall improvement to the system and features a larger range of the massive database. The scope of this poll isn't extended toward the Featured File in each category, but that in itself fills a gap in the important task of dredging up those lost gems from time to time. Anywho feel free to participate for grins, even if you don't post and simply select one of the options.

I'd rather see a more dynamic Hot Files feature. Something that you can choose which category to display or have it by default display each category for 5-10 minutes before moving on to the next. Not a fool proof solution to getting those lost gems dredged up amidst the typical visually appealing mods, but it would be a great start. I'd even be alright with it if there were just more featured files to check out within the subcategory pages. There's a lot of cool stuff lurking in the dark corners of the database, but it stays hidden with little to no light being shone in that direction.

Create a separate worldspace like Solstheim?
TheGreenLion replied to zgn92's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You'll want to look into this thing called the Creation Kit. In there are some excellent tutorials on how to use it, and as far as new Worldspaces go there are a lot of resources on these forums and elsewhere if you do a little searching. -
Well I wouldn't call Skyhammer Hold particularly grim but it's more for barbarian types. I'd venture to say it's medium sized with about 12 beds for followers should you put two in the tunnel doghouse.

Navmesh for Exterior (New Worldspace)
TheGreenLion replied to jacke776's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The most basic part of the Navmesh is that you need it to cover everything that you expect NPCs to walk on. So if you use Auto-Generate Worldspace you'll save time on the whole, but it won't be a particularly awesome Navmesh. If there aren't that many cells I'd use something like Recast based (especially in living areas if you have them) there are several options in there that you can change around such as lowering Agent Radius to give the Navmesh more triangles but better accuracy as to how much is useable by an NPC. Cleanup generally takes the longest but you can then go into Advanced after the first round of Navmesh generation and run each part on it's own such as removing unwanted islands. It's not a foolproof tool, so you'll have to put your eye to the Navmesh and fix anything left over manually after you've 'optimized' it. One really good trick is to make sure you can see the darn thing without needing to make it transparent, just a little bit above ground is good. -
Disappearance of a mod and its author ... HELP
TheGreenLion replied to Rosepine's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Not too long ago happened with the Wolf Armor Remix that MonsterMonkey did, some fellow just reuploaded it with a different title...but he took screenshots. Checked the textures, perfect match. Checked the time date, same thing. Few other people also noticed it right away for what it was. For whatever reason people have thought that no one will notice or pay attention and they'll get....*something* out of it. Is it for prestige or people's appreciation? I just don't get what purpose there is to that type of behavior. -
Here's the deal, nobody will help you figure out how to mod your XBOX version of Skyrim here on the Nexus. Might ask your buddy since they've done it.
-
Oh, well just so ya know XBOX modding isn't supported here. Good luck elsewhere.

If you have a dynamic follower mod such as Ultimate Follower Overhaul or Extensible Follower Framework you can configure what type of combatant you want your followers to be. At least I'm fairly certain UFO does that, EFF does for sure. Just have to make sure it's right for you and your load order.
