  1. i cant stand mccready, his nasty whining voice & rat face makes me feel sick
  2. have you actually done the quest? Thats how you unlock them
  3. on a few playthroughs I have randomly met it in various places
  4. usually its because the mod uses items that came with a dlc eg :- a settlement mod with a manufacturing machine would be vanilla but using wasteland workshop items
  5. Try https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22442/? there are quite a lot of sanctuary builds to use with it
  6. I have pre ordered it. There are things I have concerns about, but overall its worth giving it a try. A big area of concern is the possible microphone requirement, I dont have 1 and for various reasons, cant & wont use 1. Microtransactions I'm no longer worried about as they will be cosmetic only and the will pay for the (free) dlc's and servers. so optional, i doubt very much if i will buy any. mods will eventually be ok so thats major objection #1 dealt with. and I like exploring too, and there is new stuff to find so ++ there if its crap i can delete it yes its pricy but as i'm mostly housebound, games are my equivilant to a social life, so cheap really
  7. So dont play it! I am looking forward to it, I like games where I can wander around exploring, the survival aspects, not so much -but nothing is perfect, there are going to be things in it that I dont like, and things I do. The same goes for most people. Special was mentioned, and it looks to me as though role playing is a huge part of this game, its just not telling you how, you have to go figure it out for yourself.
  8. Whatever anyone else's opinion/theories about 76, since I heard ( after listening closely to the interviews with TH etc) that there will eventually be player made mods, I am going to play this without preconceived ideas about how it will work. Its different from all other fallouts. New , even if incorporating failed stuff from other games, is not necessarily bad. I will give it the benefit of the doubt. If it turns out to be shite, I will simp[ly delete it & go back to FO4 until FO5 or esvi comes out. Life is too short to get so stressed out about a game )
  9. Oooo, a modded cyberpunk ) yes please. If the game is anything near as good as witcher 3 that would be amazing
  10. I do believe that they are so stupid. Or, it might not actually be stupid. EA rakes in millions with their microtransactions/lootboxes/pay2win cancer, even though they are more hated than Hitler for it. It seems to work well enough. It is a possibility that this "leak" was a market research ploy. They just want to look at how outraged the people actually get, to gauge whenever it's worth it. Or just to make it less painful in comparison when they allow free mods, but only via bethnet. Or, the leak might be a fake posted by someone who wanted to create an outrage in order to force bethesda to allow free mods. Or it actually is legit, and the guy who posted it is discontent with the descision of the suits and wants to create an outrage to force them to back down. Who knows. I think it is believable that they want to kill free modding at the very least. That would also have the side effect that they would no longer need the pc players. Bethesda's focus has been on the consoles since Oblivion, with the PC users only getting a shitty port (see Skyrim GUI). I prophesize that not only will they get rid of mods, they'll also start phasing out PC versions of their games. "I prophesize that not only will they get rid of mods, they'll also start phasing out PC versions of their games." If this ever happens, I will no longer be able to play ANY games. I only have pc games, as I have disability issues with using controllers and do not own any consoles. I expect I'm not the only one. Getting rid of mods would be a massive mistake and lose them more than a lot of fans. It would be disaster.
  11. In the start game menu, choose load, then choose character
  12. Have you had an update to your graphics card software/drivers that adds an "optimise games" function?? If so, fiddle about with the settings and see it that helps. I had a similar thing happen though not so extreme, when I had an amd update.on my old pc.
  13. if its not in your list, manually download it, then add it through nmm. Either way, dont forget to activate it !! I'm also 60, it worked for me, if that doesent work, then you need some help from a younger, more tech knowledgable person
