DLC Broken Steel might be the only attempt to go forth after main-story, and should be the last attempt I prefer. I don't care how much scripted npcs recognize my deeds or the game unlock extra bars after the endgame, because you are going to be stuck in same endgame anyway after prolonged hours of expanded story. All consequences and the recognition going to be same dull. That's why DLCs tend to add more sandbox features or add new areas. Extra story only lasts for hours. But fans have a tendency to restart whole new game when new things come out. Cannot blame it because it actually works; as long as gameplay provides enough fun. Actually I prefer general endings like New Vegas did. After the Hoover Dam could be so much boring endgame.

That also happens to me because, I guess, you lose your drive over times whenever you get nigh to the endgame. So you destroy the sandcastle you built and start all over again. That's the nature of Sandbox games I think. It has no ending nor better purpose to do. So I always have terms entirely stop playing those games and do some others. But others also get bored at some points too you know.

I think base games are alright. Modding adds more coverage fun to meet every different taste of needs. In that sense, yeah probably good ol' Skyrim has all the shopping goods you need at the moment because it has been years. But I always found first time vanilla is the best fun experience over the laters. If you think Fallout 4 is poor at the base, modding won't radically change that so the better is to go back playing Skyrim or wait for next Beth games or... do something better I guess. I recently came back to Beth games and seems everything is refreshing now. Hell, Beth provides good games.

Yeah, to me it is soccer and baseball. Both are set in different worlds but most importantly in different gamestyles. The method to deal with enemies are vastly different that you play sword & magic plus bow over an hundred hours while you mainly do gunfight in the other one. Many things come to the tastes, but because of the gameplay differentiation, I have enjoyed both series in different ways.

I wish Power Armor can more work as a vehicle just as I used motorcycle in New Vegas. It had a independent trunk so you could store support weapons and loots to limited weight. I used it to travel and parked somewhere before get into the area, go back and switch gears(usually was missile launcher) if needed, store loots and move to next area and so on. It really helped since I turn off fast travel so I did't have to go home base every time. And if available, new weapon part like shoulder-mounted weapon would be awesome just as the motorcycle did. Rough idea is that it can be installed to power armor frame just as normal parts, consume ammo from the trunk, uses Grenade key to fire, can be autocannon, minigun, assaultron laser or take your pick. Something like that. Still missing that way...

First, sorry for my tedious English. I am sucked in that. I'm working on a mod gives new appearances and weapons to fo3 mutants, the purpose of which is to differentiate them from NV mutants. As reading a tutorial carefully, it's ok to transport Blocks between mutants. The problem is when I copy the branches of non-mutants and adopt them into the one. These meshes show up as floating or not following the subject's animation. For example, I've managed to adopt a headwrap on a mutant which looks pretty good. But when a shot rids his head off, the headwrap remains in the air floating on the headless. I've figured out that human-based headgears are missing 'Bip01 Neck1' and 'Bip01 Spine1' so it might be related to that. But even if it is, I cannot figure out how can I link the mesh to a node. Tutorials are all ambiguious and out of my comprhension in this matter. If someone can provides an easy roadmap just for one attaching a headgear to a mutant's head correctly, I'll try up the last. Thanks for the patience. :ohdear: http://i820.photobucket.com/albums/zz123/alaskaonfire/enb2012_5_2_17_48_13.jpg

OR perhaps the next Jarl will be Rolff? Rol, just kidding. The more possible scenario I think is that Stormcloaks refuse outsiders enlisting to their army (the population is insignificant anyway), saying 'No needs your help. Nords is the one who defend Skyrim since it belongs to Nords.' stoutly. The nation Ulfric and Stormcloaks argue is 'a nation-state' backboned by 'belongs to Nords'. It's cleary different to how the United States was created. Although Aragonian Dragonborn player can walk in & out freely with no comments, race isolation and other discriminations by the law is the most threating that Windhelm offers. It should be withdrawn even after Stormcloaks win, for long term national state. Anyway, I love Brunwulf Free-Winter more becoming new Jarl and restoring the order. Maybe the Empire would rise strong again (perhaps by Dragonborn dynasty restored? ) enough to break the shity treaty and bring back Talos. As Talos is the first Emperor who built the Empire, it's not a shame only for Nords but for whole nation losing his divine part.

it was annoying 'visit the boy who want to join Dark Brotherhood' appears in the Journal everytime that I'll never be on to. Then it got the lowest line after completing few quests. I am fine with new journal system. Easy to track while still possible making immersion by marker remover mods. I'm contented with Daedra quests especially the house of horrors. You know, most quests in Skyrim are only make you feel hero-playing from delivering an engagement ring for a widow to saving the lands. Then you find Daedra are exceeding mortal life; playing with your own morality just for their enjoyment. That's what I exactly expected to Daedra.

Faction quests feel quite dull ...don't they?
midtek replied to MoonSweets's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I think this gives the clue how early faction mods should work like. 1) Add more quests even radiant ones between the intervals 2) Lengthen each radiant quests at least to dungeon scale (not just visit-a-house, kill-a-bear which Aela gives) 3) Provide handy rewards for that (powerful version of Sparks would be huge better than 100 Golds spamming) -
@sukeban Well, I don't live in USA but I know well how it can be annoying everything is blamed in the name of racisim. Some foreign students were really irritating on that matter before. Still, Windhelm is the case that Nords' xenophobia, separatism, extremism, hatred, racial supremacy are crossing the border in discrimination to racism. It's a matter of time few drunkens set fire on Grey Quarter and no one get punished will detonate the worse, which already Rolff roaming Gray Quarters every night insulting 'the gray-skins' in game. If Ulfric cannot be blamed as full racist, he's still misguiding the matter much be worsened by next successors and generations. Pretty dangerous as he's the ruler inspiring his people and already what Windhelm became and becoming.

1. Using Thu'um in duel? Torygg went to 'Sovngarde' where you encounter him, good and fearless guy, speaks Ulfric is a coward. Some witness say a fair combat while others say the shout weakened Torygg as 'he was no more after the Voice'. I think Ulfric had to use Thu'um to demonstrate his superiority of being High King. If he fought without Thu'um, that could be an honorable fight for both even Ulfric was likely to be a winner. And because Ulfric had to be the High King; Torygg must die; the best the miserable way. 2. Nearly everyone in Tamriel are racist? Most Nords in Skyrim get along with another and well mixed up. Nords often emphasize the hospitality toward 'newcomer' is a traditonal virtue all true Nords must follow. Most people stand for him or his country or his 'community or what all across Tamriel. That doesn't make racism too commonplace, Yet. The Great War and the upcoming are accelerating bad parts. 3. Ulfric is a racist? Ulfric's contempt not only goes to his enemy the Empire & Dominion but also to non-nord-ethnic civilians live in his land. That could be stopped in that preference but he enacted the laws. He's a 'dangerous' racist. (like many sovereigns were) 4. Ulfric cares about Nords? He cares his people a lot incarnating himself as the Nords and Talos. He dies for his people, dies for Talos, kills everyone opposing his way even the opponent is a Nord or his legal king. That makes two sides of High King he will be. Perhaps Skyrim needs its hero more than 'false' Imperial protection. Maybe he's an incarnation of Talos like Jarl Skald believes. 5. Ulfric shows political smartass and shouldn't be fearing Thalmor? He's a man combined of the prowess both in martial and politic. If Hammerfall made it, maybe he can do it. 6. To sum by myself; Ulfric Stormcloak claims the right of the land and of worshipping Talos from the Empire. A large portion of Nords agree with this, joined the army in his name of Stormcloak, revere him as a hero. As a hero people believe, he is a smart politician, capable warrior, good tactician just like Talos was. But Talos was not a racist. That's why many players feel sick in Ulfric after joining Stormcloak, start a new game, make thread. Excluding moral superiority, he definitely stands against the Empire and the Dominion, and might be capable of repelling them both like Hammerfall did. He's such a strong personality and does the role in the game. you follow or not, it's up to you Dragonborn. 7. Behind Story (And many have already suggested, Dragonborn is The One affects the war and saves Skyrim upmost. Well done! )

That's what you really missing the point. These Khajiits are Pro Traders from their own land Elseweyr ruled by Khajiiti government (which is currently not in good internal situation in Lore). How can they be matched with Romany? The Khajiit traders in Skyrim are well organized the bodyguard of which is armed with Steel Plate Armor and excellent martial prowess. You see in the game, there are much other local caravans are dead and deserted on the roads attacked by bandits or by this dangerous land while Khajiit traders cope with anything on the roads with good profits. They came for that, professional traders, must be a hardship not to deny, for better oppertunites than in their homeland. That's why they are staying. Other kind of Khajiit in this game is J'zargo which is a mage student and M'aiq the Liar a lone wonderer which is a funny folk. I don't know why you are so standing in this 'Khajiits are poor' matter which is getting inappropriate to Ulfric & his Windhelm thread. Maybe starting a thread about Khajiit would be good for all, but not much to be as Skyrim seldomly portrait Khajiit not like was in Morrowind. I lost all concerns about posting, just becoming more curious about why are you so concerned about Khajiits. I live with two cats btw.

Warm=good? What are you thinking, man? Of course it's something like a business proprietor working abroad in suburb areas of Russia or somewhere in long term. Of course it's frackin cold and homesickness suffering. Some locals never welcome you even for five years no speaking, some swear in their language, juveneile brats mock at you 'go home your country'. But it's a job I chose while others do the same. This can't be bitter than Palestine refugees driven out from their land ahead of constant dangers in losing their land, customs, properties while armed nationalists often visit residences with torchs and rifles. (Joe Sacco exposes pretty well how things go on there with his fair viewdpoint as a third party.) In Windhelm, you look around catiously in the place, you find Ulfric and radical nationalists are thinking that Dunmer, Argonians, Khajhits shouldn't be allowed in Skyrim thus should be segregated to their slum with lowest wage. Their extraterritoriality leaves Dunmer and Argonian farmers to bandits with no protection Than Brunwulf Free-Winter points out Argonians must remain outside of the city 'simply for their own safety'. These things turn much better when Brunwulf replace Ulfric and bcome a Jarl. If you think Caravan life in 15th century was harsher than Jewish people lived in their ghetto in Europe (it existed in that time), you are too innocent, pal. Check this for Reference how things go in Windhelm. Jewish ghettos in Europe existed because Jews were viewed as foreigners due to their non-Christian beliefs in a Renaissance Christian environment. As a result, Jews were placed under strict regulations throughout many European cities. The character of ghettos varied through times. In some cases, they comprised a Jewish quarter, the area of a city traditionally inhabited by Jews. In many instances, ghettos were places of terrible poverty and during periods of population growth, ghettos had narrow streets and tall, crowded houses. Residents had their own justice system. Around the ghetto stood walls that, during pogroms, were closed from inside to protect the community, but from the outside during Christmas, Pesach, and Easter Week to prevent the Jews from leaving during those times. So that's why I head off Ulfric but still saying he's not excessively bad. That happened like commonplace in the history, and the era of Skyrim is turbulent.

Ulfric is a strong Nationalist who understands the bitter heart of Nord people well enough. He and his Stormcloaks shares the ideal that Nord must reclaim the right of the land and of worshipping Talos. If Hammerfell already liberated themselves by the same reason, why Skyrim could not be? His resentment toward outsiders are excessive which was devolped during his miserable times. He counts everyone as an obstacle on his way who doesn't share 'his way' of Nord's Heart. It doesn't make Ulfric excessively bad, as the era is not like relatively peaceful worldwide state we live in nowdays. General Tullius is a practical Imperial officer who has nothing about Nordic Heart. His hard-edged mind only see stormcloaks as rebellions. he disdains Nord's Heart openly even to his trustful local lieutenant. But in the end of Imperial storyline, he finally learns to respect it, while never get used to it. Thalmor is something like Nazzi SS instiution of Aldmeri Dominion, that consider themsleves so superior to lower kinds. Their twisted intellect only does good use in running opertaion and intelligence against 'lower' kind of enemies. But we see Imperial nobles from Cyrodiil often consider themselves superior to Skyrim locals just as the same. To conclude, the era is full of conflicts only just got out of Great War a moment ago to confront another serious war upcoming. It must be in the pot full of imperialism, nationalism and racism in everywhere. I'm xxxxing happy being out of this kind of aggressions in my life, not yet. :teehee: I'm exhausted considering this matter, my final post, just to about playing actual games. Have fun folks!

Pal, talk with Khajiit traders at the outside of Solitude, Whiterun, Riften or hit at the road. They say they miss Elsweyr heartly but still willing to be a caravan far beyond for oppertunities. They are not local to this land, nothing to struggle to live, easily can go back to their land or go elsewhere when their business are done. Typical caravan, not like someones already lived for a generation and have possessions not to lose. This kind of merchants always happen whenever warfare happens between other countries, not to mention they risk the hardship, danger, cold eyes from local. Some might detest them like some Nords in game say, but they have their own reasons of living. Those Khajiits are not too specialized in armament anyway. I can't think their situation is worse than Windhelm. About Dunmers, they can be disgusting folks as we experienced in Morrowind. But when Red Mountain erupted, they greatly suffered; lost homeland turning to ashes, slaughtered by enraged Argonians, had to escape. Even 'stout' hearted Nords showed sympathy in the book Scourge of Grey Quarter say. Many Dunmers still have the cruelity. Others got well settled like many brethrens in Cyrodills did.

Khajiit traders are wealthy caravan with well armed bodyguards provided by themselves selling exotic goods and weapons, often saying that the war and dragon states make risks but better profits. They are pro businessmen even a lady lives in Whiterun willing to accompany. Being outside of wall is no good but still they are in much better situation compare to Dunmers and Argonians in Windhelm. The living of Argonians and Dunmers in Windhelm are worst to their siblings live in other cities. I was glad with the ending of Imperial line that Brunwulf Free-Winter replaces Ulfric as new Jarl declearing tolerant administration, renovating slum quarters, and ultimately: making steps to 'assimilate' Argonians into Windhelm. This war-verteran of Great War truely knows all people were suffered by the war and nationalism cannot be the answer even in nords way. In Ulfric's reign to compare, a drunk Roiff roams around Grey Quarter at night insulting the Grey-skins knowing that they cannot touch him. Some might say Dunmers in Windhelm had it coming as they were more likly to refuse assimilation which was differed from the path of Dunmers in Riften (the book Scourge of Grey Quarter suggests) But the book also imply that dark elves made Skyrim for refuge by 'the condolence' of long-rival Nords and successfuly got into Skyrim life. We know Ulfric's father was more generous to these 'outsiders'. But Great War changed many Nord locals into cold-eyed and Nationalism arose. Pity for that, but it happens in the history like a routine.

Faction quests feel quite dull ...don't they?
midtek replied to MoonSweets's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I think faction quests are heavily influenced by Mass Effect 2: big scale with more cinematic scenes; short length of each questline. I prefer Morrowind type that several bases are located, dealing with each quarters for their own businesses. Business are low in Skyrim and always inclined to be fancy stories like Magnus & Psijic Order, bloodsucking Werewolves, Nightingale religion amongst thieves and all kind of that. Bards College The burning of King Olaf part was fun; the dungeon related was exciting. Then yeah, one quest and over?! I hope more stories either by DLC or mod would go on. Companions Dealing with Silver Hands was boring. Not fond of werewolves so was kinda boring too. But the part of Kodlak was pleasing. I liked the old man and how Companions repect him despite the divergence. In the end, they are brothers and sisters. I liked that. College of Winterhold I didn't enjoy the story of Magnus and Psijic thingy but gameplay parts were satisfying. Optional quests were relatively detailed compare to other factions', satisfying too. Thieves Guild Nightingale parts were tedious and laughable in my opinion. Dwemer dungeon was fun though. What the hell are these religional X and revenging story aparted from real thieves business? Co-op missions with oldies like Brynojolf, Vex, Delvin could be more fun I think. Imperial & Stormcloaks Cool with it. With mods get developed, whole war will be scaled and constant fun! Blades & Dark Brotherhood The return of Blades was unexpected and I like it. Dark Brotherhood, haven't tried it (never did in former titles anyway ). -
I don't think Khajiit are in that much trouble. Most Khajiits in this game are traders and explain themselves they came this far land risking danger for fortune oppertunities. And they are actually making good profits of it! Keeping them outside of capital is public order matter; and Khajiits say it's harsh but tolerable. Clearly they don't consider Skyrim as residence so just fine as long as profit goes around. On the other hands, the inhabitants of Whiterun regardless of races are all concerned in Balgruuf as 'my people'. They are being treated fairly just as Nord locals. Hell, the housecarl is even a dark elf repect well each other. I like Balgruuf too. He takes responsibility but being sick of a powerhouse. Dark elves are in real trouble I think, as they lost their homeland and immigrated here quite long time ago. Maybe they deserve it as they enslaved others in their prosper times in Morrowind. If that's true; Ulfric's reign may also deserve it. But I think no one deserves such thingies if you ask. Why can't just get along with others. I am sick of politics!

It cannot be generalized like that. Although racism can be found all across by individuals and locals, we see much more people get along with others and mixed with(at least overwhelmingly being seen in-game). Ulfric's problem of racism is not about his personal preference but how he governs his land. He sends troops immediately when Nord farmers attacked by bandits while nothing does when it comes to other races, IN HIS OWN LAND. It already influenced how Windhelm local treat to others. It has a lot of potential possibility being worsened when whole Skyrim under his reign; and when it pass on to each and every successors and generations to worst. I think the cause of Ulfric and Stormcloaks is more about the resentment toward Empire. Not because Nord heavily costed in Great War only to lose; whole people of Empire also suffered and Talos was their beloved god too. Nord manhoods could be happy to die in fight and hail to Sovngarde. But Empire rather showed weak obedience and threw Talos away which is remarkable insults to bitter heartened warriors. So they pointed their sword toward Empire and spitted on civil rules; claiming it's their homeland and only the strong can rule Skyrim in its traditional way of Nord-hood. And that kind of crisis; likely to lead Nationalism and to revere the national war hero; like we saw n World Wars. They already made Dunmer ghetto in Windhelm. We see the whole picture by it.
-
Bloodsucking politicians do not represent the way of people. Such things are just struggling for power all histories go. As long as those actions are counted as disgrace in folks, it cannot be generalized. But then, the way of people is the problem that is. Killing a leader by unilateral duel must be considered as barbarism in civil places. A murder. But if local folks think it's the true way of Nord; it makes sense they want to liberate themselves from weakened Empire. Maybe we are the witness of the fall of Roman Empire. We don't argue Roman collapse and German inflow were fair or not. I have had enough good feeling about Empire since Oblivion, so I want to see the nation rise strong again.

Two-handed Weapon is One-hit Wounder. It's slow and uneasy to parry which means you will allow foes more hit unless you kill them in fast pace. Sure it deals higher damage so you can break defense easily and chop them down in few hits. The advantage wears off in harder difficulties since the damage output gets diminished so more hits are required while you are more vulnerable. It gets much buffed in easier difficulties that often chop one by one in 2~3 hits. Two-handed weapon tactic in hard difficulty has no much choice. Making yourself bulkier with heavy armor and max health does most works. When you enter in heavy combat, disabling enemies by magic or alchemy or shout whatever become vital because it won't end quickly. As long as you get delayed in finishing, you are dead sooner 5 times faster than sword & shield tactic or magic combos. 'Tis Quite True.

If you think Skyrim is the personalization of Nord itself, Empire tumbling is a great opportunity for segregation. Stormcloaks commonly say that Empire is not bad; they are just too weak to lose the war and let Talos forbidden. There's no need to be the side of weakling. Nord should stand by himself. If you think Skyrim has been the part of Empire long enough, stabbing backside because Empire got infirm is too base even to Nord's tradition. Empire had actually been lazy in busting Talos until Stormcloak emerged and Thalmor found it's a crack spot to crumble Empire and pressured it. No citizen should not accord to his country's ruination. There's no need to be clever with abacus for joining the winning side. Regardless of the winning rate, we support the cause we think it's right. In this case, which is your loyalty within. Empire? or local Nord?

Hello folks. I'm getting a little itchy problem. I've installed several half-transparency mods such as transparent glass weapons. The whole surfaces just get darkened as nights no matter the part is transparent or not. Nvidia AA is set to Multisampling, bTransparencyMultisampling= is set to 1 as usual. I struggled, failed, knocked out. Then you just got turned in. Any ideas, folks?

It implies they should had included Crossbow to the game!
