  1. I use Deadly Dragons too, and it can make the dragons extremely nasty. The nice thing is that you can select how much of a boost the dragons get.
  2. I have used the Run for your lives mod and the similar mod that makes people take shelter when vampires attack. They do not always work right but they are worth trying. I cannot for the life of me figure out why a vegetable seller like Carlotta Velentia feels she needs to fight a dragron or vampires when Whiterun is attacked. Make sure you do not use area affecting spells like fireball or chain lightning. You will be hitting all the idiot townsfolk and guards as you try to protect them from dragons or vampires.
  3. There is a mod for extended colors that affects both hair and skin color. It never seemed to work on the eye colors. You can still choose the default ranges, but you can select anything from albino to jet black if you have this mod installed. If you like warriors, maybe a lighter skinned redguard. You could make up a back story with the character having Breton or some elvsih ancestors to justify some magical talent. I made a Dark Elf with snow white skin for one of my characters. She ended up looking like Elric's daughter but with red rather than pink eyes. I also belive there is a mod that allows tweaking of character heights but I have never used it. Search the nexus mod site and steam workshop to see if you can find it. Best regards, Mike
  4. First, I like your Avatar. I agree with Georgiegirl about doing the Dawnguard Quest line to build your Death Knight. The vampire quests will really be helpful and the main DG quest will help you with your Necromancy. Your character choice does not have to conflict with the Dark Brotherhood and/or thieves guild quests, because vampires are known for their stealth as well as destructive potential. You could focus on being a vampire battlemage but develop some stealth and illusion magic to succeed as a thief and assassin. It looks like an interesting build. Best of luck with your Death Knight. Mike
  5. I tested this last night and it looks like everything stacked. I got the 3X armor bonus to my flesh spell for wearing only clothing, the bound mage armor value, and the armor rating from Dragon Aspect. I had started a new game, so I do not have the 2nd or 3rd words of Dragon Aspect but I did get the armor bonus added to everything else from the first word. Hope this was helpful, Mike
  6. Vilja is one of my favorite followers. Vilja unfortunately has the bad habit of wanting to talk a little or whining for a drink, "I'm Thirsty", when I am in the middle of a fight or an important dialogue with another character! I normally write this off as part of her charm but it can get to you after a while. Her disdain for vampires really only bothers me, when my character, "her dearest friend" happens to be a vampire that has never harmed her and been willing to protect her all the time. I got even in my latest game, since Vilja is always saying how she does not like vampires. My vampire lord character felt quite hurt after helping and traveling with her for a long time. I felt she needed to have her horizons expanded, so I turned her into my vampire follower (thank you, better vampires mod). I felt so proud of Vilja as she was using her new life drain power on a bunch of bandits that attacked us. Que buggs bunny, "Aint I a stinker!"
  7. No, my game seems much smoother with the offical 1.9.......032 pactch that just came out.
  8. SKSE is now up to date with the latest patch of Skyrim. The beta version is different from the latest official patch so they had to update SKSE, which was done very quickly. You just need to go to: http://skse.silverlock.org/ to get the new version of SKSE now.
  9. It appears to be that way. For laughs, I set a skill to lengedary then used the console to advance it back to 100. The option to make it legendary a second time was given. The only advantage appears to be the ability to continuing to level up by advancing skill. The legendary skill get a dragon icon for each time they are made legendary but I have not noticed any real advantage other than the ability for the character to continue to advance. Mike
  10. I know if definitely stacks with the Alteration Flesh Spells, but I cannot remember if it stacked with Dragonborn Aspect. I will have to test this later with one of my characters.
  11. You also can get revenge for Katria. I was traveling around while wearing the Aetherium Crown that I made at the forge. I met a Dark Elf with a group of men, and he immediately recognized that my crown was made of Aetherium. He said something about me finding the forge and I made some remark that Katria and I found it. This caused the moron to attack me with his goons, which caused me to happily kill the lot of them. It turns out the Dark Elf is the same one that screwed over Katria and took credit for her life's work when she was researching the forge. Looks like the Dragon born gets to be the tool of Karma again.
  12. There is a mod that adds Aetherium swords to the inventory of the forge. The swords are already made so you do not have to forge them and they offer both a 1-hander and a 2-handed version. The weapons do extra magic damage on each hit but do not require any charging. The extra damage is in-line with a master enchantment, so it does not seem over powered. I liked this mod, since I really wondered what an Atherium weapons might be like. Just my $0.02, Mike
  13. I use both Nexus and Steam workshop without any problems. I have started using NMM and its has made controlling the mod order very convienient. Mike
  14. This may be a silly question, but are you using the latest drivers for you onboard sound. If you are running Windows 7, they are probably up to date. You will need to check them yourself by going into the device manager if you are running Windows XP. It is possible that your system could be several sound drivers behind if you are running under XP, because it does not automatically check device drivers like Win 7. Just a crazy idea, Mike
  15. Check out the Dread Weapons on Nexus and Steam Workshop. They have a very vampiresque look. There a number of vampire mods on nexus, just search for vampire and browse the selections to see what you might enjoy.
  16. I have been enjoying Dragonborn on the PC. I also enjoy Dawnguard. I use the unoffical patch for Dragonborn that is available on the Nexus site and I have not had any problems or game breaking bugs.
  17. I have seen some recommendations for mages to use paralyze then hit the frozen bad guy with one of wall spells and watch their health plummet. I have tried this and it really is a nasty combo. I like mages but the lack of vanilla spell power advancement can be frustrating. There are alot of great magic mods that I still need to explore for the PC. Mike
  18. I am trying to just travel normally (no fast travel) since I just installed Frostfall and Wet and Cold. Having a horse makes non-fast travel much more tolerable, especially if you are using mods that let you carry stuff on your horse, like convenient horses. I use my horse to carry my camping gear, since those tents are not very light.
  19. I actually had Aerin follow her to Sky Haven Temple and follow her around Blades HQ like a puppy. Mjoll was a blade but her fanboy would just not go away. Maybe Delphin will put him to work as the blades cleaning boy.
  20. I have recently started playing a pure mage again who favors robes. I combine the alteration flesh spells with Bound Mage Armor mod and it has worked quite well for this character. I really like getting the Telvanni Robes that are in DB for my mage. My Battlemages still favor Dragon Knight Armor (heavy). Mike
  21. There is a bard songs mod available on Steam workshop that substitutes Malukah's songs for some of the original skyrim songs. You will hear Malukah's version from the female bards. The mod has, "The Dragonborn Comes, Age of Agression, and Age of Opression." There is also different version of "Tale of the Tongues" by Xenadragon that is sung by male bards after you have beaten the main quest. I recomend searching Steam Workshop for this mod if you would like some different versions of the Skyrim bard songs. Mike
  22. I would have eaten him just because he told me to get out of here.
  23. There is a the Hlaalu farm right down the road from the stables at Windhelm. Herneri's daughter is Falanu, who is sometimes inside the house or out behind the home in the farm.
  24. I completely understand where the OP is coming from about the limited choices for his vampire hunter character. Unfortunately, Beth could only offer two main paths for the Dawnguard DLC's main quest. Both parts of the story do force you to interact with Serana rather than the way you may envision your character acting. There are very few computer RPGs with the TES' level of flexibility. The only way to have this level of freedom is to play table top or a computer RPG with a human GM to moderate choices that are not written into the games' story. The TES games do offer a huge amout of flexibilty for players, especially on the PC due to the Creation Kit/construction sets. Unfortunately, no computer RPG will ever be able to match the huge diversity of character ideas or creativity that the players can dream up. Sometimes, you just have to say, "this does not fit my character, but I will have to ride the plot train to advance the story if I want to complete the quest(s)." There have been a number of times that my character would have simply killed Tulius, Elenwen, or Ulfric becaused they infuriated him/her but they were essential characters at that point in the game's story and I just had to suck it up as one of the limits of a computer RPG. Just my $0.02 and best regards, Mike
  25. LOL, I love this statement. I like to beat on Harkon with the Mace of Molag Bal, while I am fighting him. It seems fitting to kick Harkon's butt, using the artifact of his Daedric master along with Auriel's Bow.
