  1. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69611/? This may be of some use. A starting point maybe.
  2. By that I mean if you cast a large spell requiring 100% of your Magicka with your Magicka level at full, 100%, your spell has 100% power. and if only 50% Magicka is left, a spell requiring 100% will cast, but at half power/duration. Lesser spells would use less Magicka as usual and would be similarly affected. If you get the idea, do think this would add gameplay depth and more decision making regarding spell use? What wold the positive and negative gameplay consequences be? What if Magicka did not regenerate in combat and only outside of combat with potions? Would it lead to advance planning e.g. I'll cast one spell that uses 50% and then change to one that uses 10%, giving 5 casts before I run out, then switch to bow or other weapon?
  3. Nice idea, perhaps just for battles. I'd try it at least.
  4. I assume it's ok to not start a new thread as I'm quoting an old post and it's relevant to the OP. Anyway (Skyrim VR), I have basically installed all my mods already, but with hindsight wish I had made a clean save just before character choice. If I do as above will it really put everything back as it was? Including all the choices I made about conflict overrides? Can't bear to go through all that again. Can I use someone else's save from that point without issue? Any idea where I might find one? Can I ignore a clean save (without mods) and just start the game and make a relatively clean save (not really a clean save but one I can go back to, to start with new characters - I'm guessing it will also be relatively easy to uninstall anything I later decide I don't want at this point of the game as I wont have encountered anyone or anything substantial) with all my mods installed just before character creation or will some mods and some MCMs not have triggered at that point? Thanks in advance. ps. and will purge leave any manual installations I made untouched?
  5. Well, yes, it would have been too long to wait if I was waiting for no reason, especially if just popping into the game to adjust something then out repeatedly after installing new mods. Thanks
  6. I have a few MCM controlled mods in Skyrim VR. When I load up the game, each mod with an MCM slowly lists itself at the top of the screen. Do I have to wait for these to all to stop appearing (a minute or so) before I play? In other words, are they actually all already loaded up when I enter the game and just listing to show me or are they loading as they list, presumably requiring me to wait? What happens if I don't wait, at worst? I'm assuming this is only mods with MCMs. Thanks in advance.
  7. I think I have found if you install a mod via FOMOD installer which has multiple options (let's say you select 2 out of 4 plugin options e.g. patches) then you get "The mod "xxx" has multiple plugins" with an option to enable or dismiss. However it appears the two you selected in FOMOD are already enabled and dismiss does nothing, i.e. leaves the same 2 enabled. Is this correct or have I missed something? Anyone in a position to double check this? I hope this is the case as I have varied my choices between enable and dismiss, having installed multiple mods via FOMOD in vortex
  8. I may have the answer. Tested by adding two more mods. I guessed the installation order number was determined by whatever your current mod list was ordered by at the time of installation of each mod. I sorted by installation time then installed cliffs of skyrim and cliffs of skyrim wet rocks. They were assigned install order numbers of 19 and 20 respectively. EDIT: Added another two mods and found the previous 2 changed number randomly so I officially give up trying to find out what the install number means.
  9. Well it is certainly true in my Vortex that install order corresponds exactly to alphabetical order for all 18 installed mods. EDIT: Actually there is one single exception. SMIM ( written: static mesh etc) is not in alphabetical order when sorted by install order. There are 4 mods beginning with "S" and Static... is second in the S section but not last as it should be, taking it's 2nd letter into account. So that's more confusing than ever. Why one exception.
  10. Well, I just noticed what the load order refers to, bizarrely enough the load order is exactly the same as Alphabetical Order (the "mod name" tab). SOLVED. I'll start a new thread if anyone insists, but one tiny question: If you set dependencies for some items in the mods list, do you also have to set them in the plugins list if they have plugins?
  11. Still curious. What mods are you talking about here? So graphics wise I have (for skyrim VR) SMIM, Eyesore, forgotten & miscellaneous mods, noble skyrim, noble skyrim smim patch, Terrain LOD redone. Some of which must necessarily go after others. As I may install many more it would be nice to check for any obvious mistakes by having them ordered in the order they overwrite each other. The install order numbers Vortex has assigned to those mods are 14, 2, 4, 10, 0, 11, and 17 respectively. (sound mods, skse, skyui, ussep are the other numbers I have not listed). I'm following this list so far but will probably not install everything there. They are listed in order of installation, so I'm trying to follow that order and setting dependencies as I go. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1t_mXqCg-kFCKgFnJuFRXnat70ZDYoOPcIEVFS1cJcrs/edit# PS. Anyone know what this error means in Vortex diagnostics?Tue, 26 Mar 2019 13:37:44 GMT - error: Winapi failed to retrieve controlled folder access status errno=2, path=SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Windows Defender Exploit Guard\Controlled Folder Access, syscall=RegGetValue(Ignore this error question - I just read elsewhere that it does not matter).
  12. What if you sorted the "Install Order" column in ascending or descending order (whatever order floats your boat). Would that be of help to you? Since the only priorities that count have to do with mods in conflict, you could refine your sorting by also selecting "Conflict" in the "Dependencies" column. Just curious. Why do you need to keep a visual track of mod priority? The install order numbers are literally all over the place so I was worried that if the install order numbers are what vortex was going by then my game would be messed up, regardless of ascending or descending order. It must be there for some reason surely, unless mine is in error. Good idea regarding trying dependencies column along with whatever, but still no way to list the mods in the order of their priority. The dependency column does not put mods in dependency order, just eliminates everything else. Doesn't matter which one you install first, because you can just tell the mod that you want to overwrite the other mod by making a LOAD AFTER rule for it. Installing them in a certain order was what you HAD to do with NMM because NMM overwrite the files so if you installed them in the wrong order, you had to uninstall them both and do it again. With Vortex you can just change the Hierarchy of the mods by using LOAD BEFORE, or LOAD AFTER, no more uninstalling and reinstalling, that why "Install Order" really doesn't matter in the Mod Tab I have done the hierarchys, but would now like to see them via a column. Well I'm still non the wiser as to the point of install order as it bears no relation to anything, even to actual install order or dependency related install order. It's helpful to see the actual order the of priority the mods have so you can tell at a glance if mods you intended to overwrite parts of others have been set correctly
  13. As one would expect. I'm using the latest Vortex BTW, for skyrim VR. Vortex has updated a couple of times since I started modding. My SKSE mod, despite being first to be installed is numbered "13" I guess this isn't so important if vortex does not use those numbers, just very inconvenient for keeping a visual track of mod priority..
  14. I'm using the latest Vortex BTW, for skyrim VR. Vortex has updated a couple of times since I started modding. Sorting my mods (not plugins) by "install order" assigns seemingly random numbers to my mods. It does not reflect the order I installed them in (which is shown by "Installation Time", nor does it reflect the dependencies I set as I would expect. How can I make it simply show the order these mods are installed/activated in? Are these install order numbers completely meaningless or is Vortex actually going to apply that install order, which would in some instances overwrite some textures , for example. Or is it a bug I can fix/not fix? Thanks for any help. Looked for ages without finding anyone experiencing the same problem. EDIT: for further clarity, I have a mod that changes many textures and another mod that improves upon a few of those. So I installed the larger mod first then the smaller (if that matters) then I set dependencies/resolved conflicts. The smaller mod shows as number "0" and the Main mod shows as number "14". If I click on the dependency icon for the main mod it correctly shows "loads before [the smaller mod]" I also have the correct rule if I click on the conflicts icon, (green lightning). If it is relevant I found this error in vortex diagnostics: Mon, 25 Mar 2019 15:23:37 GMT - info: Vortex Version 0.17.8,, Mon, 25 Mar 2019 15:23:45 GMT - info: read font C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex\resources\app.asar\assets\fonts\icons.svgMon, 25 Mar 2019 15:23:45 GMT - error: Winapi failed to retrieve controlled folder access status errno=2, path=SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Windows Defender Exploit Guard\Controlled Folder Access, syscall=RegGetValueMon, 25 Mar 2019 15:23:46 GMT - info: updated loot masterlist trueMon, 25 Mar 2019 15:23:49 GMT - info: set channelMon, 25 Mar 2019 15:23:52 GMT - info: no update availableMon, 25 Mar 2019 16:33:39 GMT - info: clean application end
  15. Unbelievable! I tried almost literally everything else, spent my whole weekend, and this was the simple fix. What a waste of my time.
