  1. thanks! and no worries, the link was added to the news on the front page :) Still doesn't fix anything for me, GECK won't load ESPs :/ and now my time runs out, the cloth compilation will have to wait for another month, doh!
  2. there are several ways to do that... one is the UseItemAt Package where you can specify what to use or where to look for
  3. maybe your NPC's AI Package has him unlocking all doors?
  4. you need to have permission from all involved authors and must be able to provide proof when asked. simple as that.
  5. The technical maximum is around 99 but you'll probably end up with crashing much earlier because of erroneous mods or mods incompatibility. Try deactivating some mods and see if it gets better. Generally dont install more than one mod at the time and check if your game still runs before you install the next one Installing mods is quite easy with Fallout Mod Manager. You can mess with it, all that can happen is your game crashing to the desktop. The mod themself are no danger for your computer, they only might crash the game but not your computer. It's only harmful when you start kicking your machine (your harddrives hate that) when it crashed the Xth time ;) Just stick to the Nexus when downloading mods and don't download any executables (.exe files) from dubious sources and you're save :)
  6. Decisions With Regrets has a gun that stuns ghouls and in Playthings (adult mod) there is a non-lethal fist fight possible
  7. On every post above (mine included) there should have been a link to Bethsoft Wiki: Navmesh Tutorial which is quite good :)
  8. Actually, as far as I know, at least under EU and US law you can do whatever you want with your games, but you may not share it with others. And provided that you do not hack/circumvent any countermeasures in the process. So no intermixing on Nexus.
  9. What happens to me quite often is Navmesh nodes flying high above the ground. Actually I enjoy navmeshing, ever since reading the tutorial its soo easy and I'm quite fast at it :) Maybe just delete the nodes around the door and do it again? note that the navmesh actually has to continue through the door.
  10. that's it! The final straw. Password reuse killed 90% of my logins in about one month. Now I installed KeePass and now use ridiculously long passwords, for every site a different one. Take that, g*dd*mn hackers!
  11. why NOT use geck? If you don't want to make a mod, then why not use coc <cellid> to teleport wherever you want? GECK: doubleclick the door in the 3D viewport, set it to persistent reference and give it a reference ID. add a second door, and do the same (different name) and also disable it. you can now point that door to somewhere else. now you can add a script to something (item, activator, ...) to switch the enable/disable of those two doors. The GECK wiki will tell you how to add scripts and so on
  12. how about making a companion NPC with normal AI packages... and set the attack to an explosion (which also removes the NPC). the NPC gets spawned when you drop / shoot a spider-mine-item
  13. I tried to find out what I'm doing wrong for hours now, no success. The wiki says something about not every NPC/race/monster can use the same animations but I have no idea how to define that aaand I guess the answer is in this thread. You have to define those in the gameplay -> idle animations so they get evaluated by the KI
  14. Wiki is your friend: Add the hair to the game using the GECK
  15. It's easier than you would think: In GECK under Miscellanous --> Idle Marker Take any of those and place it on the ground. You can easily make your own custom Idle Marker and add the animations you want to be played there! The Idle Marker properties are kind of self explanatory To make your NPC use it, you have to give him a AI package that allows using those. go to - Actor Data -> Package - Create a new one - on the right, select "Sandbox" - in the sandbox tab, check all checkboxes and set the radius, for example to 500 (you can measure the radius by placing a light source, activate the emittance with the L hotkey and then open it's properties where you'll finde its radius) - under flags, fallout behavior should be checked now go to your NPC, open the Tab "AI Package" and add your package. FINISHED.
  16. uh, you copied the content of the file and tried to save it? did you change the script name (the first line)?
  17. when you cannot save it, you did something wrong and the script couldn't compile (obviously hehe) check the spelling of all references / or clear the whole block and add the stuff while repeatetly saving to root out the cause
  18. well, that's the whole point of weapon health :)
  19. and point 14-20: Before posting use google, check the GECK Wiki and check the forum. for why there are most often no answers to posts: There is no "punch over internet"-device to punish lazy people who don't know anything, don't try anything and worst: don't try to look it up! So yes, the people that can't read a simple mod description/readme are pulling down my motivation to help anyone :( but hey, I also have to say that if you actually ask a specific question, provide context and try to form complete sentences, you'll get a response almost immediately. I tried and succeeded ;)
  20. you can raise the weapon's health to ridiculous amount so it's more or less indestructable http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Weapons
  21. 7z has better compression. take a look at other mods for the directory layout. If you do it right, the package works with FOMM right away. or read this FOMM tutorial :) PS: FOMM does not care what type you use (rar, zip, 7z).
  22. FNVEdit will do that for you. search it on nexus, there is a good tutorial too.
  23. did you try loading an older savegame (one before you used the mod) and checked their reaction then (with the mod uninstalled/unchecked) ? maybe the mod mixes up some factions oooh, do you wear faction armor like NCR armor? You know, those two kinda hate each other :) from the fallout wiki soooo maybe try to remove some factions from yourself
  24. Ah I just saw that you used the Orthographic View. Personally I don't like that view mode (probably because I often fail to use it correctly) and yes, parts outside of your viewpoint actually get omitted there and often GECK f***** up after using it. Instead of using ortho view you could try work more with C and T hotkey There is a on ortho view and it seems it's a known problem
