  1. PlayBink() can be used to play .bik video files ingame.
  2. I'm quickly learning why game designers (or the company as a whole, rather) are so quiet up until a surefire date is picked. The best answer I can give is soon, as in, a matter of weeks. The good news is, I used to delay my 'goal' for launch by months at a time. Then I only would delay by a month at a time. Then weeks, now I'm doing a week/several days at a time, so as I get closer, I get even closer to nailing down a date. I'll announce a final date as soon as I'm sure. I don't want to make a big hoot about a date only to push it back more. I can promise two things. It will still be Early 2013 (I.e. It wont be pushed it back to like May). I made a promise a while back that I would release by the end of March at the absolute latest, and so far with my current goal I still have quite a bit of time between the two. So I stand by that. At absolute latest, it will be out March 31st. (Well the nearest Friday, so the 29th) EDIT: - Okay not going to happen, I'm simply not ready to release, but I'm definitely in the final stretch!
  3. Spoken like someone who never actually used it. I ran the program and my computer SCREAMS. In a good way. It did disable one or two features that I liked (namely Windows Explorer taskbar shortcuts and thumbnail images), but there was a fix for thumbnails in the optional files. It did no harm to my computer. Would endorse. I don't even know what to say to this. That doesn't change the fact that it has NOTHING to do with Skyrim, at all, and shouldn't be on the Nexus. On top of that, as was posted above someone posted out what each change did in another thread. It 'speeds things up' by randomly disabling a bunch of stuff, a lot of it important, on your computer. That's no solution. That would be like making your car more fuel efficient by taking all of the paneling off the sides, and reducing it to a seat, an engine, and a bare frame.
  4. It was essentially a 'potentially' malicious program that had nothing to do with Skyrim at all and was causing huge problems for a lot of people. It also seemed to alter a lot of very bad things and whoever made it had basically no clue what they were doing, or had very bad intentions.
  5. Does your PC even support Skyrim? And how do you have 3.6gb of ram? That's such an odd number... I'd go fairly light on the mods, but it of course depends on what kinds of mods your looking for. I'd stay away from power hungry ones like HD texture packs, but light simple mods shouldn't be an issue.
  6. Good ol' two month bump. Not much interest over here before it's done, eh? :P
  7. I have nothing to say beyond please do not do 99% 'fantasy hot chick' mods. :) As a matter of fact, I think you should review lesser known mods for the most part. Not things on the 'front page' or 'top 100' or anything. They're popular, which means every is already using them. Give the little guy some attention and your views and the modding community will thank you. :D
  8. Since the complexity of setting this up would be EXTREME, if not impossible, I don't think there are any mods like this.
  9. While I would never personally use something like this, I just have to say holy crap you have indeed done an incredible job!
  10. Considering that 256 is the true limit, but Skyrim.esm being one, we now have to worry about Update.esm as well, making the limit 254. Less for each DLC you have as well.
  11. It really depends on the mods, how well they're made, and what exactly they do. The technical limit is 254 now I believe. You can not have any more than that. However, depending on how good your load order is; you could put in as little as 5 (Or even 1) mod and it could destroy your game. Or, with careful precision and a meticulous eye, you could get well over 100 mods working. So it really depends on the mods you plan on using. Fewer more demanding ones, or more less demanding ones.
  12. Two quick things: 1. Are the giant text pictures really necessary with one small line under each one? 2. Your file is still set to private so nobody but you can see it. :P EDIT: Also the player HAS to have a Data folder otherwise they couldn't play the game at all, so that part about creating one if you don't have one isn't needed...
  13. Interested in voice acting for Falskaar? Now is your chance to join the cast of almost 30 semi-professional and professional voice actors in voicing the massive amount of new and unique roles, as several roles are now available! I will be holding public auditions (To be opened within a few days hopefully) where you can audition for the roles you would like! Keep an eye out for more details and an announcement when I open up auditions!
  14. 1. I actually just delayed it to Early 2013. It was originally this Fall (Now) but it's taking longer than expected. I now hope to finish in mid January, but I could see it potentially spilling over into February. I want to do this right and make sure it's fairly bug free upon release, so that will largely dictate when it's 'complete'. 2. It's quite a bit smaller as I'm only one person, but it's still fairly large. It's going to be the size of roughly 2-3 Skyrim holds combined, though it's hard to say exactly. 3. I'm doing my best to do everything in a compatable manner. So far there are no mods that you'll have to turn off for sure, and I'm doing my best to conflict with as few as possible. It's going to be more of a 'those mods wont affect Falskaar without a patch on their part' than it will be a 'those mods break Falskaar'. So big mods like Frostfall, etc will just need to make patches to affect Falskaar as well. However, I'm still trying to work in a manner so that those large scale mods that everyone uses can make patches very easily, hopefully encourages many of them to do so. Thank you for the offer, but I already have a few people working on minor things for the mod. Falskaar doesn't add anything major like entire new armor sets or anything like that (At least not playable ones), just a few minor story things and some other details. If I need another modeller I'll post about it everywhere so keep an eye out if you're interested!
  15. ChampionOfHircine is correct. If you generate and properly set up LOD for your custom worldspace the map will change to match it.
  16. Another good ol' six week bump. :P Since the last bump I've posted Falskaar's gameplay trailer: And one of the songs from Falskaar's soundtrack:
  17. You can also just tell Audacity to record your audio output, then play the video clip while recording. Just make sure that your computer outputs no other noise (Skype sounds, Steam chat, etc), and you'll have the audio.
  18. I believe the specific armor determines whether the skin is rendered or not. Something like a full suit of Ebony does not render any body parts, as none are visible. However more transparent/hole-y armors like fur/hide still render most or all of the body.
  19. When they show up depends on the conditions. If there are no conditions, they will show up anywhere that isn't conditionalized. (Dungeons, most wilderness) If you add conditions, they will be checked. If you want to test the screen, put a single condition on it. "GetRandomPercent < 100" That means that 99% of the time you're loadscreen will show up. After testing it, you may then remove that condition, or lower it to like GetRandomPerfect < 1 so it doesn't show up constantly. It's up to you. :)
  20. 1.6 broke this and it's annoying everyone. Hopefully they fix it in 1.8. If they don't, like 75% of modders are kind of screwed right now.
  21. Wow, it's really good to hear that some people actually like those replies! My replies usually end up being fairly lengthy and explanatory like that, so I'm glad people don't just all ignore them. :P It is indeed very difficult to keep your mod bug free, due to the nature of the game, but hopefully we can all still try our best to make them as bug free as possible. :)
  22. I'm not sure that the game will run if it's not in the Steam files... Regardless, NMM works no matter where the game is, you simply have to tell it where the game is. (Somewhere in the NMM preferences)
  23. 1. This is a HUGE deal for console users who have wanted this for, like, 10 years. 2. It's most likely being thrown out there as a DLC to end Microsofts exclusivity deal after the negative reaction behind it and Dawnguard. 3. I'm kind of ashamed that people are so mad just because mods have done this... It's cheap, it's awesome, it's professionally integrated and contains things no mod could ever do. And above all, console users get it. I'm nothing but pleased, and some of your reactions are just selfish, and rather shocking.
