  1. Really cant wait to relive my morrowind days with this mod, I appreciate the work put into this project very much.
  2. Well, apologies. I thought that forum was for anything and thought that would be the best place to find help (I didnt see anything in the stickies).
  3. Hello everyone! I am currently making an eye texture replacer and there has been an issue plaguing the development all along. When I change eye colour in character creation the eyes go dark, switching weight slider brings the correct brightness back. If you exit character creation with dark eyes saving and reloading gets them to the correct brightness, changing cells seems like it might sometimes, and opening showracemenu again does too. This issue happens in vanilla too, but because my mod removes glow from men/mer eyes its accentuated by my mod. I couldn't find anything online about it and would like to get to the bottom of it. I would assume its some kind of mesh issue. Does anyone else notice this issue in their game? Any idea what is causing it and is there any way for me to get around it? Thanks in advance. Here is a video of the problem
  4. Thanks for the ad free feature, much appreciated!
  5. Can we enter screenshots we took a long time ago?
  6. Hello, Has nyone seen any discussion about the shiny hair (not talking about the bugs when the game was released), espcially effecting black hair? Also, the 'wetness' of skin is just too much, again, especially on dark skin. Does anyone know of any mods to fix these specular maps? Thanks
  7. Image upload feature is great, works a charm. Dark0ne, quick offtopic suggestion. It would be great to get the "This video showcases X file/s" feature added to images too, cheers!
  8. I would absolutely love a mod that added an 'inaccuracy' feature, just like mount and blade. Many mods attempt to balance archery other ways, but for me the main issue with it is that anyone regardless of skill can shoot an arrow accurately and at range. I think this is wholely unrealistic and i'de love a mod, perhaps mcm compatible, that adds 'inaccuracy', 'power' and a crosshair for it. Power should effect the travel distance of arrows, and inaccuracy, self explanitory. And I think the traits should be tied to archery skill not perks, and as your skill increases the crosshair gets tighter when you draw your bow, and your arrows travel farther and faster. Holding breath could tighten the crosshair a little more for a short time but no longer slow down time. I think this would be so rewarding. Thoughts? Would a mod like this even be possible?
  9. In response to post #24810064. Can you define who 'we' is please. Because I and many others are not part of your 'we'.

Well, yeh I see your point on that. I guess it's yet another reason why it should be curated, something I very much believe. I myself have nephews who are ignorant to this stuff, I often have to help them with it. Youtube videos and things that they use.

Yes I think he was replying to you. And no, I dont care about legal ramifications. If someone is stupid enough to release a LOTR mod with a model from Shadow of Mordor, while using a copy of zbrush that he didnt pay for then so be it. He is an idiot. It isnt your place, or mine, or anyones other than the companies he has wronged to police him.

Tad selfish don't you think" What on earth are you talking about? Actually, it kind of makes sense. Clarifies your stance. You think you should be able to tell people not to brake a TOS or the law, and you also want to tell them that they cant self-determine by selling mods. No sir, I am not selfish for wanting people to have the option to do whatever the hell they want, the consequences are in their hands, not yours.

Ignoring that is opening a door to law suits." It is irrelevant to you, the buyer, completely. And you could get a refund, for 24 hours. Yes, it should NOT have been in steam wallet money, if that rumour is true. Yet another issue, but not a reason to refuse the system altogether.
  14. In response to post #24801964. #24802149 is also a reply to the same post. "Licensing" - irrelevant. It isn't your job, bethesdas or valves to police modders. "Quality" - Agreed yet subjective, this is why they should have made it curated. But this was an experiment with that exact aim, to see what it's like if it isn't, imho. But we didnt even get to see what would happen, and were unfortunately inundated by troll mods in the 'review' section. "Risk/Incompatibility" - As above, and irrelevant. It isn't up to you to tell people where to spend their money. There is risk in everything. Yes the issue goes beyond, will have problems, and the implimentation had major issues. But to deny modders the chance... well.
  15. A story. One day Dovahkiin was strolling happily through Riverwood, when he came across Alvor Bethgorr. Dovahkiin thought he'd try his hand at creating something. "Alvor, Alvor! Could I use your forge?" Dovahkiin asked. "Of course Dovahkiin, you can use the Creation Forge, but you can't sell what you make with it! You can of course put the things you make on that rack over there for people to take, the nexus stand!" Alvor exclaimed. Dovahkiin found out that he could make some great things, and people came from far and wide to grab things from the nexus stand. Most people took the things he made and enjoyed them very much, and a few of them even stopped by the forge to say thank you, or even give Dovahkiin a pat on the back. Everyone rejoiced with their new found wealth. Clothing fit for a king! The best and most beautifully crafted armour they could dream of! New spells to use! They were spoilt for choice, and there was much rejoicing. A crowd gathered outside, and many people were enjoying all of Dovahkiins creations! Dovahkiin made many great things, but grew a little weary and wandered off on some other adventure. Sometime later when Dovahkiin was becoming very bored of adventuring he recieved a message from Alvor Bethgorr. " Dovahkiin, the people liked your things so much that I thought i'de offer you a deal. If you make some new things I will let you sell them at the shop over the street, the Riverwood Workshop Trader! I'll take a cut, and so will the owner of the Workshop. Gotta pay our dues you know!" Alvor chuckled. Dovahkiin thought about it and agreed. "I can work in my own time, for myself, doing something I like doing! And maybe, if I'm good enough, no more slaying boss dragons or running around in my nine to five dungeon crawling! It's a dream come true!" Dovahkiin began to pound away at the forge, his head filling with wonderful ideas, inspired, motivated! But he noticed a crowd beginning to gather outside. The crowd seemed very restless, and many were armed. Some in the crowd seemed deranged, slobbering and screaming. " DOVAHKIIN YOU TRAITOR! How dare you tell us we need to buy these things now!" the crowd sneered. "SNAAARGHGHH!" snorted a strange malformed creature. " Dirty cad wh*%#! Die you shill!" cried many in the crowd, pitchforks brandished and torches lit. Dovahkiin, terrified by this turn of events raised his mighty shield of flame resist, and cried back. "But I thought you all liked what I did! All of the other things I made for you are still over there on the stand!" said Dovahkiin, pointing at the nexus rack. "What he says is true!! The things are still there, people!" cried Alvor. Unwavered by Dovahkiins cries the crowd began to approach. " DIE!! Die you dirty greedy son of a hagraven! You can not charge for our things!!" heckled the crowd, becoming even more restless. Without a moments pause the swelling crowd charged at Dovahkiin and Alvor, their fury unrelenting. Dovahkiin ran for his life. "Riverwood, the amiable community by day belie the horrors that awake by night" sighed Dovahkiin. The end 8)

Sad to see your mods go, but I agree with everything you said. Like someone else here said. Youtubers can make money from everyones mods. Twitch streamers can. The nexus can. Valve and Beth can, yet the 'community' actively refuses modders that chance, and it's only a chance, because only quality would actually sell. Self determination is important, and that has been refused. In hindsight they should have actively curated the system, just like they do in other games. And allowed a donate button, instead of the 'pay-what-you-want-but-PAY' system.

I completely agree with everything you said favouredsoul. This farse has shown what this community can be, it's like a pit of vipers. One thing is certain, I am disgusted by this community now and I dont want anything to do with it. Now, I havent done anything really noteworthy for skyrim (althought I did take a very long time and effort making my small mods), but I have done extensive modding in other games, thousands of hours. The steam change got me interested again - I started drawing, I loaded up zbrush. I for one was really excited by the steam change and the quality mods we would have seen from it. It needed to be tweaked because is wasnt done well, but overall I think we are really missing out - both authors and users. "hahahahahahahahha. Its hard enough getting people to CLICK A BUTTON TO ENDORSE A MOD, you think for a second people are going to strain their finger to use a donate button to give me their 5c? Reality is right here buddy, where have you been living?" This is so true. I looked at my mods stats on the workshop that has 90,000 current subscribers - most days I get 0 'likes', on 'spike' days where I get a lot of dls (like a few days ago with 400 subs) I got 3 likes. I dont care honestly, but it shows just how sincere this 'we like to donate!' argument is. "Valve and Bethesda certainly fcuked things up, royally, for a long time to come. All I want to do is remove my mods cause at least half of the hateful, selfish people out there just don't deserve anything at all. " I was about to remove my mods too. Obviously mine are nothing mods, not like yours, but one has almost 100,000 subs. I just dont feel like I want to be part of this community anymore now. EDIT: I'm removing my mods, "phantompally76" and his comments has pushed me over the edge.
  18. Great post Dark0ne thanks. It's nice to see at least a few people thinking clearly, managing to not fly off the rails in a rabid fury. I agree with everything you said really, and I actually am looking forward to seeing what kind of mods we are going to get because of these changes.

"Trust in him as a modder" - what does that even mean? Trust that you can take from him forever and never give anything back other than an optional 'endorsement' click?

Totally agree, I said that at the end of my post. 75% to the corps is wrong, but this applies to basically ANYTHING creative in the world.... the creator getting screwed by the publisher. While I understand that beth made the game, and steam is selling it. The modders are being treated like the 'middle man', as if their content has little value and they are simply adding value to the main product, when they are actually content creators. They need to have a bigger cut. 50% would be acceptable. But, corporations are evil and will try to bleed everyone dry (fact).

Some would argue that it actually means I am right, because I am able to think clearly, and for myself - not just follow the screaming and shouting crowd.
  22. In response to post #24616159. #24616314, #24616399 are all replies on the same post. Good luck phenderix. There is nothing wrong with what you are doing and it is an inevitable progression in gaming and modding, I havent used your mods because they dont suit me personally - but they suit a lot of people and have value. Please try to 'weather the storm' of rabid screaming masses on the forums until the storm clears. Maybe you could provide some kind of extra incentive to buy, while still offering the free option? Cheers, good luck. Keep calm and keep modding :)
  23. (quoting myself from another thread). The slobbering animals on the steam forums are shameful. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see these greedy cretins shouting so loudly over something so trivial, and attacking the very people that have given them so much for so long. They want everything for nothing yet call the few modders that have partaken in this Valve experiment greedy, and direct so much hatred towards them. It isn't the end of the world. It isnt the end of free modding. And, it is an inevitable change. There is nothing wrong with people being able to charge for their time and talent, mods that are terrible and not worthy will not be purchased. Mods that are, will. I for one think setting the framework for allowing people to charge for mods is a good thing overall. We will see more quality, better support, and better updates from modders. It is a natural progression and I for one am all for it. It will be difficult however, and there will be problems. Credit, for example. Stolen mods and content. There will always be people that try to abuse other people, this is the way of the world, and systems need to be in place to protect peoples creations. Other sites have no problem with these types of things - look at deviant art for example. Many people there actively monetise their 'hobby'. It will just be a hard transition, but in the end I am looking forward to more quality mods. One last thing... very, VERY few people are going to get rich doing this. Very few. Think about this before calling people greedy. My points of contention with the system..... I would prefer if valve let modders put an OPTIONAL donation to a file, many modders would do this. And I also dont like this '75%' rumour. If it is true it needs to change.
  24. That was my reaction when I first played multiplayer and it dawned on me. It's true though, there are people on the mic in most games. If I search for a game on the higher difficulties I am put in a server by myself. I dont know how to proove it other than making a video. Do you get to play with people from other countries? Heres a forum thread I made months ago about it http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition/Region-locked-MP/m-p/4099283#U4099283
