  1. I understand perfectly the topic because I created it more than a year and a half ago when I was a newbie with no knowledge of how Nexus works, and as I never received a logical advice being a newbie and the rules that are written are just a mere gibberish and seem to be more a guide than something to take into account, I decided to share a few lines of experience (that maybe the rules do work for the games of (Bethesda - CD Projekt RED) but not for Unreal Engine) In what the UE Scene is plagued of this type of “malicious authors” maybe you are right, I create all my fanmodds without the help of anyone and I find the assets using many hours, it is true that later many variants of them arise from other authors and that does not bother me, it is the replicas that do not contribute any new function that bother me, but as the assets are not mine I suppose they are of the game I have to resign myself and that I have learned the hard way and now I share it with other novice users as I was, something very simple and practical. I don't think you understand how UE modifications work because you won't find many or any mod here in Nexus for Unreal Engine that can be considered original, either the game's own assets are used or they are imported from another one, I assure you that if someone is able to create a new campaign, mission, event, dialogues, maps, etc... for the Unreal Engine you will never see him here wasting his time Fan mods like me are the only mods that exist for UE and my 2.3m Unique Downloads for the 11 games I modded says it all, they are mods that are of interest but will never receive the same numbers here as those from (Bethesda - CD Projekt RED) that can lead to confusion that they are not “Quality*" mods. It is true, I also believe that anyone can create my mods, but for the moment very few do it from 0 and the rest do not waste time to share them or learn to create them, so I think it is very important to tell the new authors who create them from 0 that it is normal that other “authors” replicate it and that this should not discourage them because they think that the members of this site does not take them into account, or maybe I have a lack of understanding of this issue (and maybe I'm the confused one?). Quality* - It must be understood that it is the user who defines quality; a company that defines quality without taking consumers into account runs the risk of producing goods and services with little or no demand, either because customers have other expectations and needs, or because competitors are producing goods with greater added value. ---ISO 9000---
  2. I have no problem with the visual is a matter of getting used to and finish off some design details. If I have a tremendous eye sore when I see that have been reduced by 1 the mods shown HOT MODS to put the collections, plus 15 of the games I have visited in all of them are advertised obsolete and outdated collections that do not work in the current versions of the games, this as marketing I do not think it works well and will only create more headaches to end users and an even greater aversion against NEXUS collections. SALUDOS
  3. @alonzo1987Basically what Dante means is that if the company or developer comes here to claim their content and the author can't prove they have the owner's consent when requesting the review it will be removed. Nexus depend on the users, owners or reports and they don't know that this mod exists, that's why there are so many models, music, costumes, weapons, etc.. imported from some games to others in EU, if the owner doesn't report it for piracy the mod will remain hung.
  4. You have just quoted a post from more than a year and a half ago when I was still a misunderstood on the subject, as I comment in the new post, it is allowed to extract assets from other authors and re-upload them as your own because for Unreal Engine modifications there is no way to prove that the files are your modifications when modifying the game mechanics, all files have the same PackageGuid, PackageFlags and PackageSource and must be the same as vanilla in order to replace them, so there is no difference if I have extracted them from the game or extracted them from another author's mod. In the only cases that you can prove that they are yours is when you export models and textures from other EU games, then you have to use Blender to square the meshes and skeletons and the thing is a little more complex and difficult to replicate. Regarding the modding scene I disagree a lot with your opinion about KHIII, the modding scene for that game is excellent and in general for the whole UE modding scene, something that is very complex given the few tools that exist to be able to make reverse grafting and then repackage everything. I have never talked about stealing anything, everything that is done in UE is to replicate the ideas and mods of other authors, the problem is that thinking that because you modified some mechanics of the game already belong to you is a mistake and that's why I have written these new lines so that other authors do not waste time as it has happened to me and bother the moderation team when they find mods exactly identical to theirs, collecting information, screenshots, precise wording, unpacked files, etc.. ... will do them absolutely no good because they will never be able to prove that those modified vanilla files were extracted by him or by another author, it is not possible in any way to prove it. I know Happybara said the following: I just wanted to clarify a few points to keep in mind that are not explained anywhere in the forums or the rules, so that other novice authors like me do not feel stupid to waste time trying to prove something that is totally impossible to prove, that a vanilla file with UE modifications belongs to them, just by changing a 1 or , the moderators will close the case saying that you do not have sufficient evidence. Here are some examples of what is not necessary to report and what is allowed for UE: Extract resources from another author and version the mod to your liking by changing minimally what the mod does, in this case the mod becomes a new version and it is more logical that it is not considered a replica of an existing mod, it is not necessary to report it because it does not make any sense. Extract resources from another author and then remove part of the assets to offer only a minimal part of what the original mod offered, Example: a mod that grants HP and MP x5 you remove the UASSET that grants HP x5 and leave only the MP x5, to upload it as an own mod, it is not necessary to report it you can not prove anything. Extract resources from another author and then combine them in the same mod, Example: a mod that grants HP x5 and another that offers MP x5 you pack the two UASSET together, to upload it as your own mod, no need to report it you can't prove anything. Extracting resources from another author and adding some minimal changes to them (a 1 or a 0) somewhere that will not be read by the game and making the mod have exactly the same functions and then upload it as if it was your own resource, this can be a bad practice but it is allowed and not necessary to report it because you can't prove anything. Modifying textures from an existing mod that have been imported from another game and linking them to the original mod model is allowed, no author's consent is required and reporting is not necessary. Translating an author's mod and linking to the original mod is also allowed, no author's consent is required and reporting is not necessary. Updating a broken mod for a new version of a game before its original author and uploading it as your own is allowed, no reporting is not necessary. At the moment I have no more information to share, but I hope this will help new authors not to waste time in reporting, I invite more authors to share their experience and comment on what is allowed or not for other games that are not UE and I have no experience with them.
  5. I resurrect this post now that I have enough experience to answer and share my experience regarding the rules of replicating mods from other authors in Unreal Engine after having made many reports, this is a guide for new authors not to waste time in collecting evidence to send them in reports. As Happybara already commented in his day, here in Nexus is allowed to replicate any mod you want as long as you use your own resources, something that is impossible to demonstrate because the Unreal Engine UASSETs are all exactly the same and do not differentiate if they are own or acquired from another author. 6. @Morticia01 I think that the tape I played the most in my stereo was a tape that had a session of the CHASIS discotheque that also included all the best songs of the last 10 years of MAKINA music in Catalonia.
  7. The lyrics of this RE3 theme sure doesn't generate any reaction hehehe....
  8. JEJEJE... I'm Spanish and my English level is “Yes very well fandango” so I don't understand the lyrics very well but I love those Rock songs and those formations, I usually listen more to Thecno than rock but as here it seems that rock predominates I'll share them. 9. Thank you very much @Dark0ne @Pickysaurus and to the rest of the Team for implementing these changes that will prevent this type of practice from being carried out with impunity. I understand perfectly that as many of us only pass to express opinions that seem to be complaints and never pass to comment anything when everything goes well seems that we always have some criticism about this site, but it is evident that if we are still here being heavy is because we do not plan to take our mods to another site hehehe.... I never thank you enough for the work you always do behind this site and whenever you make changes the only thing to do is to adapt to them and move forward, surely if something does not work or does not finish performing the functions for which it was created sooner or later you will change the course in a new direction, it is a matter of waiting for results nothing more. GREETINGS, THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS (^◡^) Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
  10. I would like to make a small note, neither @Xilandro, nor @kevkas, nor I at any time have said or stated that those responsible for this site do not know what they are doing and did not want to spread negativity of any type, we just wanted to contribute a small opinion on something because we think this is a community where you can participate openly. It seems that for some reason you have a very thin skin and immediately you take everything to heart, I think it would be a good thing for the ecosystem to follow you advice of “If you do not like something or have nothing constructive to add, it's best to simply move along”, but it is already clear that what I think or what the community thinks is not in the interest, OK. 11. I completely agree with @Xilandro reaching the 1000 UDL is as easy as uploading a Reshades, UE Console Variables (.ini), Saved Games, Icon Packs, Image Packs, etc... for some recent game with a small community.
  12. @EttenrocalNo, precisely that's the funny thing even if you delete your mods they keep them and you can keep downloading them if you have the links or they are included in some collection, I still receive download counts of more than 200 mods that I deleted but not the points they generate, so I don't think the main intention of this change is the storage space of the site, rather it is intended so you don't create many mods for unpopular games to accumulate 4000 downloads and create one for some popular game, if you work hard to create many mods for the same set of users you won't be rewarded. I for example no longer create versions or variants at the request of the communities and only share the mods I create for me, whenever I think that the mod can interest a little to waste time on screenshots, descriptions, upload, offer support, etc ... if the mod is not successful the following month I delete it and leave space for another that if you can have it, it's very simple.
  13. @EttenrocalYou are wasting your time, the boss has already commented that the implementation of the new system was closed and that anyone who does not feel confidence in Nexus with this system can go elsewhere. By the way do not compare or look at the Analytics download reports because since the last time they tweaked the download counts are not being correct, in my case the mismatch of accounts begins in the month of February that says I received 440.030 and in that month I had only 241.061, from this month the counts are completely out of control and are erroneous, also the fact that they hide the download data in the individual Stats in the mods pages (this happens to me for Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO) is impossible to know which is the real count. I also this month of November I have received 20% less but as I tell you I can not know if this is correct or not because I can not know if the counts are correct, but it has nothing to do with being successful in the mods, I am with all my mods in Hot Mods for the games I modify Gundam Breaker 4, Infinity Strash, Sand Land, DRAGON BALL FighterZ, etc... and the points continue to reduce each month.
