Rename item via console command (pc version)
alienzerox replied to Zunderstein's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Unfortunately there is no console command to rename an item ... trust me I looked because if you use a smithing potion of your own creation there is only 30 seconds to make your item before the potion wears off, so making then renaming the item take a lot of rehearsals ... lol! select item >> select enchant(s) >> select soul stone >> it should give you the option to rename the item >> rename your item them make sure you click enter, your new name should be in bold letters then just click 'R' to commit. -
CRASH TO DESKTOP WHEN FAST TRAVELING TO SKYRIM
alienzerox replied to Manofadifferentbreed's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It may have been the clean install then patched to 1.310 that fixes the problem ... I never actually tried that ... I just patched my existing game. I never had the fxaa injector mod installed, but thats good to know. How do we know who are the trusted modders? I just wanted to add that I raised the values of the interior & exterior cell buffers in the skyrim.ini [144/288], I also raised my paging file on my box to a static 13000 which lowered my RAM usage 20% from what it was, I have yet to use the PCB command in the console during gaming but I will try it tonight. -
CRASH TO DESKTOP WHEN FAST TRAVELING TO SKYRIM
alienzerox replied to Manofadifferentbreed's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
It still crashes for me but I sorta figured out the problem ... if I turn my resolution all the way down and set everything on low I can fast travel but the game looks like shite from the 80's ... but at least I know it's a texture loading issue ... Whiterun is in the center of the map and every thing radiates out from there, since 1.310 I consistently crashed whenever I got close to the farms ... I figured out I needed to lose all of my Hi Rez Textures Packs that made my game eye-candy ... cleaned it all out one by one. To get back the look I wanted I needed to use the enb series 1.02 tasudoshi mod paired with all of Opticshooters Packs helped a lot and it still looks amazing! My native resolution is 1680 x 1050 so I use 1400 x 900 to get my candy + performance ... when I played thru the first time on 1.1 I had enb series v.90 & 4080 texture packs and was able to run on native all the way to the end without one ctd <<shrugs>> but it didn't look as good as it does now... http://i384.photobucket.com/albums/oo286/alienzerox/Skyrim%20Screens/ScreenShot57.jpg -
CRASH TO DESKTOP WHEN FAST TRAVELING TO SKYRIM
alienzerox replied to Manofadifferentbreed's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
yup ditto here ... 1.3 definitely has a memory leak .... constant ctd anywhere near windhelm, transitioning from in to out & vice-versa & while fast travel ... never crashed while using 1.1, I actually finished the game with it, then I patched & re-rolled .... worst decision evar! -
I updated to 1.3.10 and all of a sudden I kept on getting no error ctds, when I was still running 1.1 I was able to play thru the whole game without any crashes. So being frustrated I did a search and found that 1.3.10 was causing a memory leak in the game, which kinda makes sense since it was designed to make Skyrim work with the Large Address Aware Mod, but somehow they messed it all up. 1.3.10 & 1.4 skse is needed to run SkyUI which was the main reason I needed to patch up to date, I wasn't able to rotate & view my items in inventory ... SkyUI fixed that for me so it was essential for me to have. But the patch caused the no error ctd problem which makes my game sorta un-playable ... I would crash on transition from inner cell to outer cell [companion HQ], crash if I fast travel, crash while riding a horse on certain stretches of roads and the deal breaker was that I would crash while engaged in battle with a dragon. I disabled auto-save, lowered my resolution & put my audio down to 16 @ 44 but still if I did anything that raised my RAM to 80% it would ctd me. So, hence the rant in my first post on this thread, bottomline is that 1.3.10 screwed up my game & 1.4 fix did not help.
-
yeah this one ... but like I said it doesn't work for me 1.4 4gig patch
-
damn that 1.4 patch ... you know I didn't have one fraking ctd on my first play thru running the 1.1 build ... now after I patched up date I get them every time I fast travel, transition to an interior cell, use magic or ride a horse to a certain spot on the road... this is unacceptable and I'm fraking pissed. okay now that I got that out of my system ... is there a fix or is it my combination of mods ... which is pretty much the same as my first play except for a few new ones ... but they are minor ones that should not be crashing me ... BOSS did not detect any errors on them. HELP!! Edited it to say that LAA does not support 1.4, but when I disabled it & reverted everything back to vanilla it still doesn't help with the crashes, even when I started a new game. A lot of people are saying that 1.4 caused a memory leak in the game when it was suppose to make it work with LAA ... this sucks ... I can't even play for 10 minutes without it crashing!

why would anyone even consider selling off unique collectable items or one of kind named staffs or weapons, true the claws are useless after they open up the vault, but it is consider a trophy of the hunt, something to display proudly in the home, speaking of which someone should make a display stand for the claws & busts for the masks. play the game and you will find that there are so many better ways to get gold in this game & you don't even need to cheat! hint you should check out the thieves guild & the dark brotherhood when you complete their respective quest lines the side jobs are very lucrative

I made my sets using falmer armor just because I can wear the helmet & have a circlet on at the same time stacking the effect fortify alchemy on both, fortify smithing & alchemy on the ring, necklace & gauntlets, the chest piece got smithing & carry weight, the boots got carry weight & endurance. so what I did was make the first set then made 7 fortify enchantment potions (one for each item because all you have is 30 seconds) and only use grand souls to craft... repeat this as many time as you want as long as you have the materials to make you gear. Molag Bal & The Black Star were essential tools for me, vamps & necros always seem to have black soul gems, bandits always seem to have jewelry, the only thing that I had to buy sometimes were circlets if I didn't have material to craft one. The falmer gear is recyclable (vals crafting meltdown mod) so all I needed to do was to collect a about 25 pieces from the dwemer dungeons that and leather was all I needed to build, use then recycle till I got to 100% on both enchanting & smithing (104 was the next level, so I don't think it ends). I started early on making iron daggers then enchanting them using petty to build up my smith & enchant trees to 100%, the alchemy tree was a little more difficult to grow so I trained with the little vampire girl in the DB every time I leveled. Potion recipes [all you need are two ingredients to make a potion] >>> enchanting: [common] snow-berries & blue butterfly [rare] hag craven claw & spriggan sap / smithing: [common] blisterwort, glowing mushroom & sabre cat tooth [rare] spriggan sap ... need some quick cash: brew up a potion using creep cluster, giant toe & wheat ;) proof of concept ... I would add the others but there is a size limit My gear is insane now but it took me a long time to learn how to do all of this, mainly through researching web blogs & youtube but the actually doing is so gratifying!

Alrighty then ... so my latest annoying glitch is ...drum roll please... when I open a book it won't open and it would flash to desktop then back, it would do this a few times but strangely it won't CTD, but it won't let me Tab out of the menu. This happens randomly but it is so damned annoying when it does happen, I would have to Ctrl+Alt+Del out to quit the game. I'm not sure what is causing it, well that's not really true because it only started happening after I installed some HD texture stuff, but none of them has anything to do with books. [beautiful skyrim hd mods] armor & weapons, there was the clutter one also which I thought may be the culprit, but I removed all of those files. I do notice a slight lag when drawing my daedric bow now but I could live with that because the HD re-texture is so darned purdy. Also there was always a slight lag when opening a book, but it always opened. Anyone else having this problem or know what maybe causing it please don't hesitate to abuse me ....I mean advise me ;)

Thanks for that, I knew it "could" happen to others, but I hoped that it wouldn't. My trusty Intellipoint track-ball optical is no longer in production and if you do find one on eBay whether used or new and still in-the-box it would be damned expensive, so I would never whack it if the keys stick! I saw one last year and the guy wanted $500.00 for it .... that's just crazy. I started to get carpal-tunnel using a normal mouse, so that's why I switched to this device over 8 years ago & it's still running strong, I will be devastated the the day I need to replace it, at least I have a Logitech Trackman Wireless that kinda matches the configuration. track-ball optical Man ... I totally when off subject .. I apologize for that.

I guess I should have chosen my words a little more carefully. I can already feel the climax of this unintentional joke coming.... anyway all kidding aside... Lowering the sensitivity settings on my intellipoint track-ball seems to have worked, I was informed some 150 hours of game time ago that to alleviate the sluggishness of movement I had to max out the settings on my device, which worked but the single click & the remap keys mod messed up some things because I did notice early on that sometimes my 'e' key would just flash when I tried to use it to equip a weapon, but since it was just a minor annoyance I chose to ignore it. I wish that Bethesda had worked out better settings for the PC version of the game before shipping it out. I mean right out of the box the biggest innovation that has come to this series was broken for me, I'm talking about not being able to click & rotate an item that is in my inventory. That was somewhat of a problem when it comes to examining a dragon claw key to be able to read the sequence needed to unlock a vault.

No.... I'm not new to archery, I know to take my time to completely draw back before firing, the problem is sometimes it doesn't let me. I racked up over 1000 kills using a bow in this run already, playing as a stealth character, I have the x3 sneak attack damage perk. I brought up my smithing skill up to 100 and my enchanting is close behind, I made myself a dragon bone bow that does close to 400 points of damage when I'm wearing augmented gear, so that's about 1200 crit dmg when I land a x3 hit which is an instant kill for most. I just got my archery up to 100 a little while ago sneaking up on a few bears and trolls, but a haven't leveled up yet so I don't have a perk point to use. Maybe I just need to adjust my mouse sensitivity, I forgot to mention that I have the not being able to rotate & view inventory items problem also. I'll load up a earlier save before I added the quick-shot perk and test... that's going to suck ;(

Is anyone else having a miss fire problem? At first I thought it was a low stamina problem then later on I thought it was a dragon bone weapons mod issue but I switched back to my trusty daedric bow and still I get a succession of miss fires, which is a deadly problem when trying to bring down a ancient dragon! Then I thought, wait a minute this didn't start to happen until after I got my quick-fire perk. So if anyone else is having this issue, please chime in, it may be a game glitch and a big one, since you can't really be a dragon hunter with a faulty ranged attack!
