Please help put an end to the sharing of CP
alienzerox replied to SunnyDelight's topic in Site Support
wow ... that's creepy in so many ways ....considered to be cyber stalking .. not to be a paranoid... well actually I am .... but clicking by on any material uploaded can lead to a sometimes undetectable worm getting into your system enabling them to hack for personal info .. just sayn you should do a anti-virus sweep of your system asap -

Mods and nervous breakdown
alienzerox replied to cazaderon's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I'm curious of the specs on the laptop ... I think that you are probably overheating ... if it is a CTD or an instant shutdown, your graphics card and or processor is working so hard to keep up with the game it would auto close the process to protect your hardware, in this case FONV -
Which mod spams Added message
alienzerox replied to RoyBatterian's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
well it's really not automated ... you still need to pick and choose which one to make the patch then run it to see if it works ... good thing is that you don't really need to alter anything except clean the plug with FNVedit b4 you mess with it ... plus if the merged patch is a fail you still have the a cleaned esp to to run and play with ... so win win in my little book of tricks... another is save after each and every add in ... then ghost extension the ones that worked or just move them to a safe locale -
oh yeah definitely just as long as you are able to access the in game console you can use fnvedit, geck what ever can give you the LO & ID # .. I just used MM as an example bc that's the way I do it ... and there is a way right in the game if you use NVSE I heard ... item ID were posted on the front page of the mod ITEM IDS xx000ae6 Helmet xx000ae8 mask xx000ae9 Backpack xx000aea Balaclva xx001384 Commander xx000ade Riot Gear

Which mod spams Added message
alienzerox replied to RoyBatterian's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
it may not be a dup it may be just another mod that is doing the exact same thing, another example would be the Murderlizer weapon to be found @ Helios >> NVEC had it but I also had the original mod, so it spawned 2 safes one on top of the other ... so you'll prb just need to go thru your recent acquisitions. if that makes any sense at all... tired going to sleep EDIT for bad Grammar -
Which mod spams Added message
alienzerox replied to RoyBatterian's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
in my experience that only happens if you have two of the same exact plugins loaded ... like i had two containers scripts running because I accidentally left a plug active after I had already merged it into another so every time i closed a container it would pop open again ... had to go into FNVedit to remove the second ... I found out later on it would have been easier for me to just redo the merge -
Mod That Forces Exit Scope to Reload
alienzerox replied to SamuelBantien's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
>> you want a mod that allows you to reload your weapon while you are still looking thru your scope. I had to read your post twice at first i thought your game .... never mind -
you can use the console to spawn as many sets as you need ... I'm old school so I look up id codes with nvmm >> right click on the plug-in then click open in TESsnip >> go to ARMO & they should all be listed there. jot it down and note the LO # (first 2 digits) while in the game hit ~ then punch in the code >> player.additem xx000000 1 (whatever you jotted down)

Weird Freezes and Crashes
alienzerox replied to ADD1CTEDGAM3R's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
well ... hmm some quick questions >>> when did you first start having this issue ... was it after you DLed & install a mod? if so untick that mod to see if it helps --- when was the last time you updated your DX or video drivers? check for an update & Do this also > lower your sound output in your Control Panel go to sound > speakers > advanced > tab to 16 @ 44 cd quality. I noticed that you have a NVEC ESM that fixes errors but did not see any CORE NVEC ESM ... you should not need that. You also run FOOK and Project Nevada you should try the convergence mod to see if that helps. If you are running a 64bit system you may find it difficult to get Wrye to work ... I know I did so I gave up on it, even tho I was able to use it in the past on a 32bit system, and don't fret bc it's not as easy as all that. and while BOSS is helpful it still has to rely on a online data system so if it does not recognize a esp it gets put on the bottom of the LO ... a rule to remember is 'that the last to load wins' DL & extract FNVedit on to a folder on your desktop > run it > config it to point to you game data folder > then run the app > let it load all of the plug-ins to see if there is a error in your LO if there is jot it down and exit to correct > run it again to do the same until it completes > make a merge patch ( scroll down to the bottom and right click on the last plug-in > click on "other" > create merge patch > I LIKE to name mine [MERGED] so that I can locate it quickly in my data folder to remove in case I ever have to create a newer one > exit and save > load this last in your order when you fire up your Mod Manager. Gopher one of our resident genius' put out some tutorials on how to use FNVedit effectively ... you should check them out. lastly try the latest FNV Plugin Utility to try to make a super plug-in for all of the loose esps you have ... there are tutorials for that too if all else fails you can always make a clean "new" save for your current play thru then disable a large handful of you latest acquisitions to find the culprit by slowly adding them back in 3 at a time next time just post the LO info on here not make it a DL and we don't really need your PO from newegg ... good luck -
cheaters never win! on that note ... why don't you just use the console like everyone else ... but not me, I would never.... :ermm:

that would be cool! ... I currently have the deathstar as the moon

how to check if an NPC is loaded?
alienzerox replied to irswat's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Ideas
is he slurring his speech or stumbling while trying to stand still ... does he stink of booze? oh wait nevermind :ermm: -
an ESM is a master and is beholden to no other Whereas an esp has to be connected to at least one ESM to be able to run .. ie FalloutNV.esm is all that you need activated to be able to run the game ... but all created esps & ESMs need to have FalloutNV.esm as their master bc that is what connects to all of the BSAs and whatnot in the data folder ... savvy? I think I got that right ... peanut gallery correct me if I got it wrong
-
seriously? bottom line you need to trim down the mods in your LO then the texture glitches will cease
-
Wow, that is difficult to read, you really should list the mods but not in a paragraph, LOL. The usual culprit of startup CTD is a missing master (ESM) My suggestion would be to fire up the Mod Manager, then click on each of the ESPs to see the info pop up to compare with your ESMs enabling you to get the name of the master that is MIA so that you can get it. you should get FNVedit aswell, bc helps alot with LO issues

Need help with constant texture changing.
alienzerox replied to YuvonZoor's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
I think its trying to locate the texture ... you said that you used Millenias Single Releases ... did you remove all of them completely before installing the Pack ... and I do mean all ( meshes/textures/esps ) ... go to your data folder do a search for MMP ( this is Millenias current folder ) there should be 2 one for meshes and the other for textures. reinstall the whole mod if these are not in there .... later on you may want to compare what is in the MMP folders to the loose ones in weapons textures/mesh and remove them, the loose folders should have the same titles as the ones in the MMP folders... savvy? sometimes I even confuse myself EDIT: oh yeah almost forgot archive invalidate >>> deactivate then reactivate -
have you considered the Afterschool Special mod ... it's set in GS and it's a pretty neat starter adventure that will activate after you help clear the ruffians out of GS http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43757/?

there is a mod out there that changes the appearance of a bunch of NPCs called New Vegas Redesigned (I use it) and another that I can't seem to find in my archive (I searched for 15 min b4 coming here to post) by an author name Drumber and it places a ESM called FCOmaster in my LO + a few esps with the FCO header that fixes the heads in the game. In short I do not have weird discolored faces on any of my female NPCs ... but I also use a sexy nude body replacer so that every female is fairly attractive overall ... so there are fixes out there already. Correct lighting & shading will also improve the look of NPCs in the game also http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39218/?
