  1. Okay, so I have this mod called Castle Grey. Recently I found online that it can cause a bug in the Thieves Guild questline-namely, the quest Summerset Shadows does not start after completing the requirements and talking to Delvin. So I uninstalled it, and now the game CTDs after the Bethesda Logo. After reiinstalling it, game works again. How do I fix this, or is there a workaround? In other words: How do I either uninstall the mod without causing a CTD after the logo, or work around the issue altogether? Detailed instructions appreciated. :D
  2. Must say, the speed of response is quite laudable, in my opinion, concerning Bethesda and Valve. Perhaps we ought to consider them as a child that was led astray, and that we helped back to the correct path? :)
  3. In response to post #24687319. #24687789, #24689849, #24690344 are all replies on the same post. "The Wisdom of the elders will help too." Are you saying we need to...go find a scroll? :D
  4. Just wanted to let you all know that the petition to remove paid mods from the workshop has already reached 67000 signatures...two days ago. :) I'd be willing to bet it's over 100000 by now. People are responding to this. People are saying "We do not like this." And as is the case with a company, they will make money where they can, but bad PR will make them back off. We are being heard. We shall overcome. *Play any rebellious them music of your choosing*
  5. Who else now wants to see a movie that's like Pirate Radio, but for modders?
  6. In response to post #24685929. #24686389 is also a reply to the same post. You're right, it does smell of PR, but here's the thing-if it's bad for us, it is bad for them, because then we just say "screw you" and take our business elsewhere. And can I just say that I feel this has the makings for a movie where a brave group of modders resist corporations and risk their lives to distribute their creations? Like Pirate Radio, but with mods. Anyway, companies always get nervous about bad press. We give them enough bad press, they'll back off. Let it never be said that we don't know how to raise a ruckus.
  7. Ummmmm...hey. I'm not well known-at all, or anything-but I do want to ask-has anyone asked what Valve's reaction has been to all of this? Because I did, and, well... http://www.gamespot.com/articles/gabe-newell-says-valve-will-dump-paid-mods-if-they/1100-6426893/ According to him, Valve will scrap the idea if it seems to be bad for gamers. Also-Ubisoft, another big, supposedly heartless company that got a ton of bad press for having Draconian-esque DRM in Assassin's creed Two removed it because of said bad press. Bottom Line-Can the company do all these horrible things? Absolutely. It's their product and therefore their right. ...But can they do it without damaging their reputation, their sales, and their public image? Not likely.
  8. So I recently got the northern cardinal pirate mod and was really excited about it. But...when trying to recruit my first mate, the dialogue option for "about my bathhouse" popped up, which is used to recruit someone for the underground bathhouse mod. I uninstalled the bathhouse mod but that causes ctd after the Bethesda logo. Can anyone help? much appreciated. Thank you

  10. I know but I'd prefer something more story-driven and less random, but still with choice.
  11. My idea is this-a quest to make the player character the ruler of Skyrim, or an original powerful faction within Skyrim. Sort of like Fable 3, where you become king, and then, the part where the game usually ends, you keep ruling as king. I don't mean like the Dark Brotherhood or other guild quests. I don't know about you, but for me, I never felt very powerful as a leader, and I never had much incentive to hang around afterwards. I'd like to see a guild where, when you're the leader, you can actually direct the guild, maybe manage finances, contacts, relationships with politicians, etc. I have zero coding or programming ability, but I am happy to serve on the creative side of this or any project. I have good creative writing skill, and if you want a sample of my work, just ask. Who wants to see this happen and/or can help? if you want to and can help, pm me. Please note that I know I am probably not the best suited for lead on this or any mod project, and so will gladly cede that position to anyone that would like to take it and is worthy of it.

Not like the Yes Man quests that end when the game ends, but something that gives you real power within New Vegas. 13. OKay, at the end of my wedding-any wedding, any spouse, including vanilla (i use interesting npcs) i encounter a highly unusual bug-Maramel does not give the rings, the quest is stuck, and no nupital happiness for my guy. I can't imagine what the issue could be. Please, for the love of Talos, HELP ME!!! *sob*
  14. I'd use it. I'd love to be a Lord of Haafingar. If anyone with coding experiance wants to do it, I'd be more than willing to help with the creative side.
  15. I mean more like...a retirement mod. Give the Dragonborn a home, a family, maybe a business, something to fill his twilight years. Give him the ending a hero deserves, because as it is, whenever I decide to make a new character...well, I don't know about everyone else, but it feels odd just leaving my poor guy stranded wherever I decided to stop. P.S.-somehow, I thought it didn't post my comment and now I've said the same thing twice. My bad.
  16. Yeah, I've heard good things there too, but I don't mean a follower-I mean more like a mod to give a satisfying conclusion to a Dragonborn's story. Give him a house, a home, maybe a business to run, just...something to fill his twilight years with.
  17. Does anyone else desire an actual good Skyrim love story/ retirement mod? I mean, my Dragonborn loves his quests and adventures and whatnot, but he's getting on in years-even for a Dunmer-and he's starting to think of retirement. I'd absolutely love for him to meet a nice girl, settle down, raise a family, etc. What do you all think?
