  1. I used to experience lots of annoying ads, like the ones that play sound. As well, I'm not sure if it's this way now since I have a supporter membership, but when I didn't... Well, I'll try to explain as best I can. When ads go on for a while, they refreshed, just changing to a different ad. That's all well and good, but the previous ad wasn't cleared from the RAM, which brought up CPU and RAM usage continuously until you exited the page. I remember once I had like 6 Nexus tabs open, and had to leave my computer for a couple hours. When I came back, my RAM usage for Chrome was several gigabytes, and half the tabs had crashed. It can also be a severe determent to your processor. I don't remember specifically the worst, but I can remember that several times when I had multiple Nexus tabs open, it would use up more and more of my processor, often getting higher than 50% usage on a 4790K. The culprit seemed to me like it's that when the ads refresh, they keep using up your processor and RAM, even though it's no longer visible. But, again, I've had a supporter membership for quite a while I don't know if it's the same now.
  2. In response to post #34716560. #34717765, #34717980, #34720075 are all replies on the same post. @TurinTurabar I second that wat
  3. That sounds like an issue on your end. I have the same setup as you, and I don't have any issues. It's likely a problem with your game itself rather than admin rights. Without admin rights, programs usually work perfectly or don't start at all, not have issues after starting
  4. Unfortunately, currently, there's no way to do this. There's a mod for Skyrim that adds partial functionality for both KB/M and controller simultaneously, but was prone to a lot of errors. So, it's kinda possible in the engine, but there's no mod for this as of yet, and keyboards don't have sensitivity so that can't be mapped. Sorry!
  5. In response to post #30142715. I'd say I agree, since Fallout 3 has the same color. A different one would be a better fit, to separate the games
  6. Thank you! I didn't even think about BodySlide, even though I've used it before. That helped so much, thanks!
  7. So, I'm not asking for a tutorial on creating a follower, I understand that. What I am asking, however, is how to use custom body scaling for them. Not scale and weight, but scaling like things like "forearm size" in RaceMenu. Ideally, I'd like to be able to export the body from the game and import it, just like you can do with character heads with the RaceMenu export feature. I do know I have to create a new race and all that, all I need to know is how to get a body with custom scaling out of the game and into the CK. Thanks to anyone that can help!
  8. In response to post #28905564. #28928434, #28928919, #28930479 are all replies on the same post. @scarface0040, The devs pushed out a product that's in beta. In layman's terms, that means in big red letters "DON'T USE THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING". Of course, everyone ignores that. Their update works wonderfully for some people, and for those who it didn't work well for, the concept of a beta (with lots of warnings about this specific update, as well). means that the issue is solely with the end user. It wouldn't work well for me personally because of my current setup, so I simply didn't update. I did this because I read about the update and did my own research before concluding that it would not be a wise move for me. Long story short, don't blame the devs for something that they told you might not work and you agreed to.
  9. Uh... I'm not sure where you got that, I use both mods in my game without issue, and I've never heard about that before
  10. It definitely sounds to me like you might have fried your card in one way or another. First, make sure that the fan on your GPU is spinning. If it is, then try underclocking it by 150 MHz or so, and underclocking the VRAM by like 400 MHz. If this fixes it, you likely fried your card under high temps (Note - If you did it right, this will murder your framerate. You don't have to keep it this way, it's just for testing)
  11. That probably means you have a missing master file. Use Wrye Bash and look for the plugins highlighted red, then fix that. That's the typical reason to crash on load
  12. Skyrim has had a lot of issues with Windows 10 for some people. 13. No problem, I'm glad you got it figured out
  14. It sounds to me like your Community Uncapper mod is out of date. You might want to update that, or remove it
  15. Thank you for killing the argument. On a side note, though, I'd hardly call DSR a solution, that murders framerate. Either way though, he can't be using AA, he's using an ENB. Unless there's something I'm missing here? But, no matter what, the rest of your suggestions are quite good, thank you.
  16. I... What? I can't try it myself, the loading screens are engine-locked to 30 FPS. I physically cannot try it myself, no matter how powerful of a computer I have. Please, if you don't believe me, read through this thread on Reddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/2uqphd/loading_screen_fps_30/ Lots of people there discuss the fact that loading screens are locked at 30, and if they weren't, it would likely increase load time. Now, if you have proof otherwise, I'd love to see, but to the best of my knowledge, loading screens are, and always have been capped at 30.
  17. I'll no longer argue about any benchmarks. However, I will say that incorrect memory settings in the ENBLocal ini file WILL NOT reduce framerate. It will cause massive amounts of stuttering, but no framerate issues. If you don't believe me, try it yourself. Compressing textures, meanwhile, will allow more of them to be added into the VRAM at once, reducing stuttering, and allow the GPU to render them more smoothly and efficiently, increasing framerate. Again, please stop with the insults, because it doesn't get us anywhere.
  18. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html Yes, really. Don't quote tech specs at me, because the specs won't do anything if they're not optimized properly. For example, how a 2.0 GHz Intel processor will always beat a 2.2GHz AMD processor - More efficiency. I do my research, and I'd appreciate if you didn't criticize me for that. A 780 is way more than enough for unmodded Skyrim, and is massive overkill. A GT740 can max out Skyrim, with a benchmark rating of 1,553. The 780 has a benchmark score of 8,030. This is way more than enough, modded or not. It has more than enough power, and has a more than adequate VRAM as long as you treat it right (just as any card) And no, I was correct. The VRAM has nothing to do with framerate until the buffers are overloaded. As well, the actual size of the textures is also almost completely irrelevant. A 4K texture with little detail WILL be smaller than a 2K texture with a lot of detail. The compression algorithms can easily compress lowly detailed textures, but when they're very complicated, it can't be compressed as much due to not enough of the pixels being similar. 3GB VRAM is perfectly fine to play Skyrim with mods, and many, MANY people play it with much less. It all depends on the compression of the textures and the textures themselves, NOT the texture sizes alone. As well, drivers are there for a reason. They purposely load up as much as the card can handle, and no more, no less. This provides the most efficiency, which is why a card with 2GB VRAM and a card with 4GB VRAM will both tend to have their VRAM filled completely by the same exact things. Higher VRAM adds the ability to take on more textures at the same time, it DOES NOT set a hard limit. Also, most ENBs don't use any more VRAM than without an ENB. In fact, they've been specially coded to REDUCE VRAM usage. Without certain effects enabled, most ENBs reduce VRAM usage due to better, more efficient coding. And, these mod authors state that the textures shouldn't be compressed because they already are. Fantastic! The tool that I linked only compresses textures that are uncompressed. It does NOT change textures that don't need to be compressed. Again, I know what I'm talking about, and I'd appreciate if you so graciously accepted other people to help as well. I appreciate you wanting to optimize his ENBLocal ini, but without in-depth knowledge of his computer, that would be very hard to do. It's something that involves a lot of tweaking client side, and there is not one way to do it. If you can fix it this way, then I'm very happy you can. However, OP, please make sure to backup your ENBLocal before you, or anyone else, messes around in it. Now, I'd appreciate not arguing on a thread to help someone. If we can act like civilized adults and simply be kind and helpful to one another rather than insulting, it would be better for everyone
  19. Ah, glad you figured it out! I wouldn't know about issues with SexLab, I haven't used it before. Thanks for replying back anyway after fixing it, it lets me know for helping people in the future. Good luck with further modding!
  20. This isn't true. If you turn on an FPS counter, it doesn't matter what your framerate is like in game, you could have enough power in your computer to push it to several hundred FPS. The loading screens are locked to 30 FPS. You can get 60 in game, but as soon as you go into a loading screen, it WILL go down to 30 FPS. I'm not sure where you heard otherwise.
  21. Only because it was when released Nvidia's top of the line doesn't mean it's a monster card! Alone the 3GB VRAM shows that. And if it would be nowadays upper echelon he wouldn't get the results he's complaining about. The 780 is still the nineth most powerful card on the market. The VRAM has nothing to do with the power of it, because it'll pump out all the framerate needed as long as the compression is correct, just like any high end card. I personally use two 970s in SLI, but a 780 is more than enough for Skyrim, and it benchmarks higher than the R9 290 you said you have. And besides, 3GB is still more than the vast majority of people have. Just because some people can have the best of the best doesn't mean you need to criticize those who can't. You don't need to be rude to someone, it doesn't help anyone, and it's certainly not the goal of this thread. Now, on the topic of a better framerate with less stuttering - First and foremost, compress your textures. First, backup your whole textures folder, so that you can revert if needed. Next, use this tool - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12801/?. Make sure to generate mipmaps, and I'd personally suggest resizing the textures to 2K (2048). Now, this tool can cause some issues on textures that are longer than usual (for example, tree textures are very tall, but not very wide). However, it's a good starting point to see if it solves your issue.
  22. Not sure what this is but I'm 99% sure you're supposed to pick JUST ONE esp. He's right. Only one esp; they're for the light levels of the lanterns in Lanterns of Skyrim, you should only have one selected
  23. It could be due to a couple things. Increased save size is the most likely, your saves are probably just so large from doing so much. I'd agree with the previous poster, use this save cleaner - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? Select "Fix Script Instances" and "Clean Havok Moved". Hopefully that'll reduce your save size and make it faster to load. The second thing, it could be your hard drive. Try a defragmentation. It won't do any harm, and it could be the solution
  24. I do hope you be careful with that, as if you disable them randomly, you'll probably get missing master errors (and removing mods in the middle of a playthrough is rarely a good thing). So, go ahead and try, just don't make a save until you know that's the issue
  25. Do you happen to be loading it directly from the main menu? If so, try to load into a save you know works, then loading into the save that doesn't. That's an issue with games that have too many mods active (mine has around 500 currently, so I have to do this every time, or I crash every single time). When a save has too much to load off the bat, it crashes. Instead, if you load into a save with less to load (I have to load into the starting room in Alternate Start; literally anything else crashes), it is more reliable. It doesn't sound like this is the issue for you, cause it seems like you've been trying that, but I figured I might as well mention it
