  1. Hi, I had something similar ... when the game was loading, did you get a red message saying something like "hardware anti-aliasing enabled, some effects will be disabled" ? If so, I think you need to disable your graphics card's AA, as to my limited understanding, the ENB will handle the AA. You may also need to edit some .ini files - that would hopefully be explained in the instructions for whatever ENB you installed (the instructions for the ENB I am using, with thank God a video, are at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/? - but your settings may differ I suppose). One other thing you might want to worry about, is are your existing mods compatible with the ENB? When I installed my ENB, all worked fine until I installed apache, ren & cazy hair & npcs of Dibella - as soon as I did that, somehow the hardware AA got turned on, via steam I think, borking everything much like you describe. I had to paste back in a couple of ini files & re-edit them to solve that problem. Anyway, good luck, hope you get it fixed. Ian.
  2. Fixed it, I was in-installing where I should have simply been deactivating, I've now got these mods - & finally Skyrim - working pretty much as I wanted it. Took about 4 weeks, 3 attempts, & a ocuple of complete uninstalls & reinstalls of the entire game though :D
  3. Hi all, Over the past week or so I've installed a lot of mods, testing every 3 or 4 mods installed, looks like I missed something as I now have no visible cloaks on my player, nor on npcs I think. I can equip cloaks, & craft them, they just are invisible. I have WIC & Cloaks of Skyrim installed ... though I'm not sure if they are installed correctly. The active esps are 1nivWICCloaks.esp & Cloaks.esp. I installed then deactivated CloaksnoImperial.esp & 1nivWICCloaksNoGuards.esp, 1nivWICSkycloaksPatch.esp & 1nivWICCloaksCraft.esp as you're only meant to have one esp active for cloaks & 1 for WIC. Possibly I've misunderstood something there? I also have installed UNPB & Bettermales, FNIS & Racemenu. UNP & Bettermales if I remember right included skeleton nifs - could those be what are borking the visibility of my cloaks? Belt fastened quivers is also not working, though installed. Is the problem that the cloaks mods & other mods (UNP & Bettermales) with skeletons won't work together? Any idea on how to fix it? I've tried un-installing & reinstalling the cloaks mods, no joy. Ian.
  4. Hi all, I'm currently reinstalling a ton of mods, after completely uninstalling the whole game then reinstalling it (this time with beautiful enb goodness). I didn't find out about this "patch" until too late. Coming at it now, so far, so good in testing, but there's still a lot of mods to go. I've been wondering about the 512/256 figures for the ini settings. I've a pretty sweet system, win 8, 16mb 2400 RAM, I4790k @ 4ghz, 4mb R290 card ... would I see further smoothness/improvement to setting the figures to 1024 & 512 (as a previous poster has), or is there some sort of risk to doing that? Regards, Ian.
  5. Thanks Camaro - I'll try to contact the skse team about the OnHook thread value, though it's probably moot anyway, as I;ve now got virtually all my mods reloaded, & touch wood all seems well :)
  6. You might want to consider changing the grass textures in your Users/Username/Documents/MyGames/Skyrim folder. My game was getting laggy using an enb, I changed the Skyrim.ini there, this is the relevant bit from my ini : [Grass]iGrassCellRadius=2bAllowCreateGrass=1bAllowLoadGrass=0bGrassPointLighting=1b30GrassVS=0iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7 ; <--- set it to 3 if you're not using SFO or other textures. unique grasses users set it to 8.iMinGrassSize=100 ; <--- lower values - denser Grass but greater impact on performance, Grass on Steroids user set it to 75 for best look, 120 for best performance. I had mine at 75, changing it to 100 made it run noticeably smoother.
  7. Not a great help, but I'm getting this too, maybe a wait of about 3 or 4 minutes on the loading screen in my case, enough to see 3 to 5 lore messages appear, whereas with a vanilla un-modded setup I'd only ever see one. (The mods are very much worth it though, game looks gorgeous). I think there's some mod to get rid of loading screens, hopefully someone will know.
  8. I'm new to this, but I think how you installed them might help ... did you use a mod manager? Also, did you install them all at once, & did you use Loot/Boss to sort load order? When you say they don't work, I doubt skyui would show for all of them - I've just installed (5 mins ago) immersive weapons & immersive armor, only immersive armor shows in the MCM of skyui, to check if immersive weapons are on I had to go to a crafting station to see if the new weapons were craftable. Incidentally, it took one ctd & about 5 minutes waiting for immersive armor to appear in skyui's MCM - probably because I'm getting impatient & installed 4 mods at once, before loading the game to check they're working :)
  9. Nice one. I used Wyrebash to check it, & that helped me fix it - it had descriptions of each installed esp, that helped me disable all bar one for WIC & one for COS, & has left the crafting menu with only one black fur cloak, one blue one, one green one, etc. All seems well now, thanks again. Ian.
  10. Hi all, I'm having problems with these 3 mods, found the installation process/instructions very confusing. The problem is mainly that on the tanning rack under misc I get multiple options for every single cloak ... it was 3 entries for fur cloak black to start with, after logging out & back in, it's now up to 6. The same is true of all the cloak varieties. What I did, probably wrongly, is to install WIC cloaks main file using NMM, then install the WIC Complete Crafting Overhaul compatible version using NMM. I said "yes" to allow NMM to overwrite the WIC cloaks with the cloaks from the CCO version. Then I deactivated the original WIC cloaks main file. I did the same with the Cloaks of Skyrim files. Loot is giving warning messages about only using one WICCloaks esp & the same for the Cloaks of Skyrim ESP, in each case it's giving these warnings on 3 different esps. For WIC Cloaks, they're esps called 1nivWICCloaks.esp, 1nivWICCloaksNoGuards.esp & 1nivWICCloaksCRAFT.esp. For Cloaks of Skyrim, they're Cloaks.esp, Cloaks - No Imperial.esp, & Cloaks - Player Only.esp. NMM shows only 2 esps active ... 1 for Cloaks of Skyrim, the other for WIC Cloaks, both are the CCO compatible versions. I suspect I should have installed each mod one at a time & entered the game, saved, & logged out, rather than doing what I did do. The WIC Cloaks FAQ does say, I see now, Q: Why are there three crafting recipes of the same cloak? A: You installed all the .esp at once, you need to only have ONE main plugin at a time. What should I do to correct this? Un-equip my cloak in game, save, deactivate them all, go back in game, save. Try activating them one at a time with a game save in between?
  11. Got it, & done it, thanks - initial results were a bit odd though  First off, after putting in that folder & ini file I got into the game & had an immediate ctd. I then tried again, got into game (Bannered Mare loaded), immediate ctd again. I then checked the skse_steam_loader.log file in the skse folder in Users/Ian/documents/MyGames/Skyrim/SKSE, & found it matched what you'd posted EXCEPT the OnHook: thread value remained at 7568. I edited that to 25908, & the game then loaded normally - except to exit the Bannered Mare I had to first pick the lock (!) I've run about in game a bit, all seems well, maybe a bit lower fps. No repetition of having to pick the lock to exit an inn, & no ctds. If you've any info about what that OnHook thread value relates to, that would be great. Ian.
  12. Congrats Zemikeclark, good to know, & thanks again Camaro. One question about doing this though, I've no SKSE folder at all in my steamapps/common/skyrim/data folder. I certainly do have SKSE running though, the SKSE folder is in Users/Ian/Documents/Mygames/Skyrim. Weirdly, the skse_steam_ loader_log in that folder does include the line config path = C:\GAMES\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data\SKSE\skse.ini Should I create a SKSE folder in the Skyrim data folder & just create the text doc in there on its own, or is something else needed/missing? Ian.
  13. No idea, sorry, but like you I doubt it.. The randomness of the problem ... plus the way it happened on exiting/entering buildings so presumably having to load new textures etc ... makes me think the memory problem is the culprit. Let me know how it goes.
  14. Additional, back to the OP, I started a thread specifically about SKSE & SSME, just got a very good reply from camaro_69_327 - basically it looks very much like SKSE does NOT do the job on it's own, & you & (possibly I) need to edit a certain SKSE ini file. The thread is here http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2017629-ssme-skse-random-ctds-does-skse-counter-the-memory-problem/ I'm not applying that fix myself yet as I'm in the process of completely reinstalling everything, plus am using an ENB now, but please let me/us know here if it does work for you. Ian.
  15. Excellent, thanks. I'm checking my skse steam loader log now, & it's the same as what you quote EXCEPT it completely lacks overriding memory pool sizesdefault heap = 768MB (effective 512MB if not preloading animations)<<<block 1scrap heap = 256MB<<<Block 2 PLUS the onHoook value is 8992 not 22884. Now, I've very little idea what that really does/means, but it looks sort of crucial & it also looks very much as though anyone believing having SKSE installed is enough, is well, going to be disappointed. Personally, I'm going to favourite this thread & press on with my current batch of mods/games as I've also just put in an ENB & hope it'll be ok - the moment I start to get random CTTDs though, I'm going to amend that SKSE steam loader log file - thanks again. Ian.
  16. Hi all, I've gone for a reinstall of the game & am now in the long long process of installing mods, due to random CTDs with my previous mod/game setup. These were particularly on exiting/entering taverns, sometimes on running through a city after exiting a tavern, & less rarely whilst running through a dungeon or the countryside. One likely culprit I thought was that 4gb memory allocation problem, but I didn't install SSME due to something I heard or read saying I'd already covered that with something else, SKSE I think, & part of the page at the SSME page at http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50305/? says If you're using the new build of SKSE that has support for changing the memory allocation values, you don't need SSME. I had the latest SKSE. On the other hand, when I look in my Skyrim folder, at the inis, I don't see anything similar to the SSME log file ... there's no SKSE ini log file, & none of the other inis have similar entries to what SSME adds : parsing INI file address 004BD832 patched from 6086290F to 6086110F address 00687E89 patched from 00000200 to 00000300 address 00A4E6BF validated as 10000000 parsing finished Does anyone know anything about this? Now, I've only been playing/installing mods for about 3 weeks, plus I had not cleaned anything with TESedit in my previous game/mod setup - so whether my CTDs really were due to the 4gb problem or not I cannot know. I would like to try to get to the bottom of this SSME/SKSE/4GB memory problem though, reinstalling the game & mods & testing them out is a lot of work (worth it though).
  17. I was having the same problem as yourself, & am currently in the very long process of reinstalling the game & reinstalling a lot of mods. What I'm doing, is going for a different graphics setup. This time I'm using an ENB, I've got it installed & running very nicely & it looks fantastic, smooth - & no CTDs. Mind you, I've only played for an hour or so of testing, & have yet to install a crapload of game mods on top. With my previous game/mod setup, I was getting random crashes repeatedly on entering or exiting buildings (taverns mostly), occasionally when running through cities shortly after exiting buidlings, & only very rarely at other times. It was always random though ... so if I just kept on trying to exit/enter the building, I would get in, after 2 or 3 attempts at worst. Sometimes I would be able to play for 30 minutes or longer without problem, normally wghilst running through countryside or through a dungeon. My first suspect was that memory problem, but I also thought that would be sorted out by having SKSE installed (as I do, along with BOSS/LOOT & NMM) & that SSME page linked earlier says "If you're using the new build of SKSE that has support for changing the memory allocation values, you don't need SSME." Maybe SKSE does not install it after it all? There is one thing I didn't do with my previous game/mod setup - & that was to use TESEdit to clean the files where reported as dirty by LOOT/BOSS. If you have't done that - then that would be worth trying, I wish I'd tried it myself before uninstalling, though I'm happy I've now got the ENB setup. Good luck.
  18. Hi all, I've been playing about 3 weeks, am on my 3rd attempt at getting mods installed & working, this third one being after a complete uninstall & reinstall of the game. I've got the visuals very well sorted out (thank you You Tube ENB installation video!), but have a lot of others to install. I know some mods specifically want to be installed before others, but generally speaking, should I install all my animation mods before my audio mods before my NPC mods before my follower mods? What part of the game, audio, graphics, animations, additional content (like added armours, clothing & weapons) should be modded first? Thanks - & thanks to all the modders. Ian.
