The Case of the Mysteriously Disappearing Workbench

Is there a reason you have SpringCleaningCompatabilityPatch.esp? I don't see SpringCleaning in your mod list. -
Fallout 4 weird lighting bug on guns
Justy311 replied to gmoneywalker's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I have one or two weapon skins, but this happens with all weapons even ones that are not retextured and I don't have any 'replace all' type textures for them. It's really strange. When I'm facing that specific direction there is a light showing. It's only in first person though, if I swap to third person I'm shadowed correctly, even if I hold shift and manually look around. Here you can see me in the same exact position in first and third person. There is the light shining through the darkness and onto my scope/silencer in first person but the shadows are full in third person. Sometimes it's a lot worse and the light is quite bright. This even happens indoors, which is really strange. -
Fallout 4 weird lighting bug on guns

A bit of a necro here, but this is pretty much the only thread/topic I find on Google. At this point a 'rollback' isn't much of an option, but I'm getting the same issue. There is a light on my character's weapon, the muzzle and the scope to be exact, when I'm facing southwest-ish. Doesn't matter if I'm inside a building, covered by shadows, the shadows just seem to vanish and there is a glow there exactly like the OP's video only with the scope getting light as well. -
Spoilers obviously (If the game can be spoiled at this point.) Lore Wise - If I recall correctly during Kellog's memories, you find out that The Institute ordered him to leave all the other cryopods turned off, other than your own. It's why there was a 'failure' and all the other people in the vault died. The Institute basically murdered them all, but manually turned yours back on, which Father later turns off to unfreeze you. Now, it's not really clear if they refreeze your spouse or not. So, it could potentially work. Though, I believe they were shot in the head. So, I'm not sure how much work could be done.... Though it does open up a possibility. What if your spouse was shot in the head, and frozen before dying. After all, people do survive some times, and if they were frozen it could help. But, what if the wound actually caused them to have amnesia, and the follower mod you're requesting actually has quest lines and dialogue as you raise affinity where they start to remember you, and eventually become your 'lover' again. Could be an interesting follower mod, and without the Synth angle and those weird grenades.

I've been looking for a retexture for the handmade rifle added in Nuka World. There is one on the Nexus, however, it also replaces the gang's paint jobs. I'd rather not have it replace those, just the default (non-painted) version. The way I see it, the paint jobs are kind of important for each gang, while the default wood isn't that big of a deal. If anyone can help me out, i'd appreciate it. I thought that I could just download the one on here and delete the paint textures, but the way this one is made it's a single texture that just replaces everything. So, no go there.

What are your favorite legendary armor perks?
Justy311 replied to lvhoang's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Armor; I'd have to say the 10% VATS reduction or the Freefall mod. Weapon; Explosive ammo. The Spray n Pray is a sexy beast, but finding it on other weapons is nice too. -
I know that they freed up the numpad for people who play the game left handed and what not, but I'd really like my numpad back to my favorites. Is there anyway for me to do this without a third party software? I checked the controls and it's not there. Might be a stupid thing to ask, but might as well ask it and see.

Sneaking gives white/greyish screen outline
Justy311 replied to Vexikuri's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
There are three things I can think of that'd cause this. 1. Night Person Perk's Night Vision while sneaking. 2. Chameleon legendary armor. Each time the stealth field activates it shows a glow then goes away. There is a mod to fix this, don't recall the name off the top of my head though. 3. Stealth boy effect from Power Armor. Pretty much the same thing as the Chameleon effect, since they're the same exact thing. Not sure if the mentioned mod removes it too or not. -
Okay... So, after testing and messing with things quite a bit, I managed to figure out how to get them to get out of the loop. Apparently extra food, water, and beds are kind of pointless. Have enough for your people. No need to go over. Then... make everyone else in the settlement a level 3 Clinic vendor. Apparently our settlers are all a bunch of chem addicts. I ended up with 24 settlers, 24 food, 60 water (just because I didn't see a reason to take out the purifiers), 4 Farmers, 1 Supply Line, 1 worthless chem head(Mamma Murphy), and the rest were in clinics. I even had to take people out of their original shops and put them into clinics. Apparently clinics are worth more than any other shop there is and any kind of resource. So there you go... turn your settlement into a doctor's village.

I've wanted this too... partly so that if I wanted to play an OP out of the vault character I could set my perks per level to 0 and not have to worry about accumulating perks that I'll never spend, or on the alternative playing with 2-3 perks per level instead of just 1. I get that there is no level limit and all that, but level 300ish for all perks seems like a bit much (and that's assuming it doesn't glitch and only let you spend 255 perk points). I've scanned the 'Game Settings' in FO4edit looking for a 'Perksperlevel' type heading, unfortunately I've come up empty. This may be one of those things that have to wait until the GECK or an updated FO4Edit come out.

You should be able to open the console, click on Cait, get her Ref ID and do Showlooksmenu refid 1 or something like that and alter the way she looks yourself. I haven't tested it out, but based on the way it's worded on the wiki and such... as long as it's a human you should be able to make them look how you want. Sounds... well.. you're on your own. XD

Actually, the number pad isn't disabled. The latest beta just made them independently re-mappable. Just remap you numbers from the number bar over to the pad and then you can use the bar for other stuff Oooh. Well that'll be great then. I might have to repatch and test it out. That was my only real complaint, other than the mod manager being all wonky and needing to stay read only again.

Yeah. I wouldn't care... but I'm trying to get the achievement. Logically I should have everything high enough that it climbs to the 100 point, but it just keeps looping. I've got plenty of other 'small' settlements that are around and stay around 80... Sanctuary is what I've built up to go for the Benevolent Leader achievement and it's driving me crazy.
-
It also disables the hidden mod menu on the launcher.... and in my game it disables the number pad... etc. I reverted back to the official patch and said to hell with the beta for now.
-
I'm not sure if that will be done without the CK, but in the meantime you could always open the console, click on your companion, and type additem x y where x = the ID of the ammo type and y = the number up to 999999 or so. Close enough to infinite. XD

I'd like to see a version of Bloody Mess that doesn't include the explosion. I'd prefer to see it turned into a dismemberment only type thing, where arms, legs, etc that are being targeted have a higher chance to become a mess (Like when head shots explode the head rather than knocking it off. etc), but I'd settle for a 'no mess' at all option. Now, I understand this would make the last perk 'When an enemy exploded there is a chance others will explode too' rather obsolete. In which case, maybe instead of having it do that just have it up the damage by another 5% So, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%.

The settlement data bug is frequent and random. It seems to affect everything from settler amounts to actual happiness. Visiting will set it to the right amounts, but as soon as you go farther away it bugs out again. Once bugged, I havn't been able to figure out a way to make the settlement not bugged. Yeah. I read that and as such I've been sitting in Sanctuary for a while. It hits 88 and then starts to decline again even while I'm standing there in the town. I just don't get it... It's such a pain. Maybe I'll try to focus on The Castle or something to get the achievement.
-
From what I've heard having at least one level 3 store helps increase happiness. So you could try that and see if it'll help get your happiness up higher. As for me... I'm level 50 and my Charisma is at 10, I haven't found the bobble head yet. (which will set it to 11) Maybe I need to just put the other 5 there? People have stopped coming to the beacon... but I have other settlements where I can send people there. I've also made sure to pull all my companions out of Sanctuary just to be sure. Mama Murphy is still there too, not sure if she's causing issues or not. As for Elliot, It's a known issue that if you don't return to the settlement regularly that the game gets confused. Sometimes it'll say you have 0 settlers, sometimes the beds will not register, etc. Just go to your settlement regularly (Like every 2 or 3 days in game if you can) so it doesn't mess up and it should help you increase your happiness. I'm not sure how you have 31 settlers... unless your companions are there also. As they have no effect on the happiness/cap (I think), even though they can help do work. 11 the cap for 'base charisma' and of course you can increase it a bit with gear... but 31 does seem a little high. XD

I'm not sure what's going on here or if there is some kind of bug or something... But I have 15 settlers in Sanctuary right now. I have 6 level 3 stores, one of each type. Located in an enclosed building to protect them from rain etc. (Not that I think that really matters but I did it just in case.) I have 30 food, Mutfruit mostly but also some corn and melons. I have 66 water, mostly in the form of purifiers out in the nearby water but a few water pumps near each house too. I have 28 beds, a few in custom created buildings so I know the have a floor and a roof while the rest are in the original buildings (which should be fine.) I have 110 defense, quite a few non-powered turrets and a few missile launching turrets. I have 1 supply line running out of Sanctuary and 3 running into Sanctuary. I have 50 power, though power is said to have no effect on happiness. My happiness reaches 88, and then declines back down to 78. Over and over in a loop and I have no idea why. By everything I've seen in the game and even some things I've read here and there while experiencing this problem... I should have no problem getting to 100 happiness. Everything is in over abundance. These bastards want for nothing... so does anyone have any idea why it's stuck in this loop or anything I should do to break it?

Yeah. I know there are a lot of things to factor in and I some how doubt I'll be getting something top of the line. I'm going to ask for the GTX 970 and hope for the best, but I've also given her the two recommended cards from the Fallout 4 requirements and the older GTX 660 that was mentioned here too. It should be enough options that she can find something... or at least enough options that someone at the store can help her find something. We'll see. I appreciate all the help.

http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04079597 This would be my current PC. Which might not be the best out there, but considering most things I get are gifts... I can't complain about it. The video card came with it in a bundle deal if I remember correctly, but either way there are the specs I currently have. It all comes down to the simple fact I'm asking for a present and a new computer again this year might be a bit much. Which is why I'm asking for a graphics card instead. 300 is actually a high estimate but I'm hoping that some of those in that price range hit a sale on Black Friday or close too it. I'll definitely keep the GTX 970 on the list. It's a bit more than I want to ask for, but not enough it should break the bank. Who knows, maybe my mother in law will be nice and chip in for once... doubt it... but a guy can hope!

I agree that unbreakable would probably be a bit much, but people can play their own way. I wouldn't mind seeing a 'slower degradation' mod though, similar to the Fusion Core drain mod. One that lets people customize how quickly their armor gets damaged... could even do something like changing the 'armor health' mod into something with various levels of strength so it also requires the mod slot for some balance.

I'm not sure if it works or not, but there is a 'bDisableAllGore=0" in the .ini. Maybe just try setting that to 1? It's worth a shot. There is also 'bBloodSplatterEnabled=1', which I assume can be turned off by setting it to 0 and that should keep the blood off your camera.

I'm kind of tired of only getting 15-30 frames per second on medium settings. I've tried a few of the 'performance boost' tweaks but none of them really fit for me, so I'm asking for a new video card for Christmas. Right now I have an AMD Radeon HD 8670D, which obviously came with the computer. I'm looking for something that can run Fallout 4, doesn't have to be on Ultra or anything, just something that can handle it smoothly and be able to run some future games as well. Preferably something under 300 dollars, or something that'll be on sale on Black Friday. I've looked around here and there myself, but I seem to have expensive taste and the ones I like are all 500+ dollars. So, I'm looking for a few options. Hints I can drop my wife that wont break the Christmas budget... since we have more people to buy for than just me!

There have been a number of black retextures, but no one has seemed to touch the metal armor. If at all possible, I'd love to see a black retexture with less or no rust for all types (normal, sturdy, heavy) and all mods.
