  1. I made a part where the player could join the Nightingales after they have destroyed the Thieves Guild with my mod (I need to implement this yet but first I have to solve this issue). I succesfully duplicated the Trinity Restored quest (and deleted the dialogue lines about Mercer still living and Brynjolf's dialogue lines, I even edited some dialogue lines which were contradicting to the situation (eg. "both" and "two others" were only you joined the Nightingale order), tested even if this didn't caused problems with the vanilla TG storyline (which you can still play even if you have installed my mod) and didn't find any issues whatsoever (the minor issues I encountered I fixed succesfully). After the duplicated Trinity Restored quest "Hunted by Shadows", quest TG09 triggers (I did set Brynjolf to optional and allow dead) and also here are no problems at all. You can play the quest all the way to the scene with Nocturnal and can finish the quest by talking to Karliah. But then when the scene should start between Gallus and Karliah the quest TG09Post doesn't trigger (I've done the same thing with this quest as I did with the TG09 which worked : set Brynjolf to optional and allow dead, I can't find any conditions that block the start of this quest so this is a complete mystery to me). The stage 200 of the quest TG09 sets TG09Post to stage 10, but when I type the command : Player.sqs TG09Post and try even manually setting stage 10 by Setstage TG09Post 10, the stage list of TG09Post looks like this : Stage 0 : 0 Stage 10 : 0 Stage 20 : 0 Stage 30 : 0 Stage 200 : 0 I did check for alias fill errors, by setting all aliases of this quest to optional and I get the same result. Only when playing the whole TG quest the TG09Post quest triggers (checked with my other character), which is strange because there are no conditions that block the triggering of TG09Post and I've checked the Use Info and no other TG scripts or quest than TG09 (which works) are linking to TG09Post. I even checked the source scripts of this quest. Any ideas?

This what I have as temporally text for Mercer Frey's journal (I'll delete the Gollum/Smeagol references in the final version) - Day 1 - I've been member of the Thieves Guild quite some time now. It's time that someone stood up and take the leadership of this guild. I volunteered, as did Gallus. I must say that there is something between Karliah and Gallus, is it love? No, they seem too seperated for that. Maybe they are planning a plot against me? No, Karliah wouldn't do that to me after everything I've done for her. But Gallus, he sure is capable and he too wants too lead the Thieves Guild. I'm sure to keep an eye on him. - Day 35 - Turns out the secrecy was nothing to worry about. They've asked me to join a secret order, called the Nightingales. We serve Nocturnal, patron of the thieves, in return for one of three powers : the Nightingale Strife, the Nightingale Subterfuge or the Shadowcloak of Nocturnal power. Imagine how powerfull I would be if I had all three powers, but no Nocturnal doesn't allow us to have more than one power. "It's Nocturnal's way of maintaining balance." or that kind of nonsense. We could be the mightest thieves in all of Tamriel. I need to blackmail Nocturnal but with what? - Day 49 - I've found it, the source of Nocturnal's powers. It's a kind of key, looks like it's made out of skeleton bones. I'm sure that this key holds more power that the Nightingale powers alone. A legend says that it is the only lockpick which will fit in any door and will never break. I need to have that key. - Day 64 - Turns out, the key is on Gallus. I need to find a way to isolate him and take the key of his dead imperial body. My precious, soon you will be mine. Gollum, gollum, gollum, ... . - Day 147 - I found a way how to seperate the two fat hobbits. I will take away what is most precious for them, a set of falmer eyes made out of pure crystal. I've staged a robbery and I'll send Karliah back to retrieve it from some bandits and I will lure Gallus to a secret location. Then I will strike. - Day 189 - I found a ideal location, Snow Veil Sanctum, a excluded place somewhere in Winterhold. If I'm lucky, I don't have to make my hands dirty. "They" will do it for me. - Day 196 - It's not the right time yet, we are too busy with a important heist job. I found a place where to hide the Eyes of the Falmer, the place were it belongs, Irkngthand. She will be sure to be crushed by the Dwemer Automatons or sliced by the falmer who live there. - Day 213 - I've executed the robbery. Now I need to find the alibi, to hide them. In the meantime I've send Karliah to Irkngthand, she will never survive it there on her own. - Day 236 - I'm running low on time. I need to execute part two of my plan. I've decided to keep the Eyes of the Falmer as a souvenir. I will hide them where no one can find it. - Day 264 - The time is right. I haven't heard from Karliah in over a month now, she must be dead and soon we will be together, my precious. - Day 265 - I invited Gallus to come over to the Snowveil Sanctum today. That fool walked right into my ambush. I took the Skeleton Key of his corps and stole the content of the Thieves Guild's vault. I've hidden the Skeleton Key where I've found it : on Gallus' corps in the Snowveil Sanctum protected by traps and draugr. I'll retrieve it later on, when I'm sure that Karliah is dead. Should anyone find it, he or she should get the blame for the robbery of the vault and Gallus' death and then I will be long gone. Hahahahaha... .
  3. @jet4751 : I'm currently implementing the Karliah bit, It's almost finished but I need to test it properly first before releasing it. I think you didn't understood the Brynjolf optional bit, if you don't set him to optional the quest won't fire (because the quest considers him an essential element for the quest), this won't bring Brynjolf back to life. I did choose for "by Nocturnal's grace, I will defeat you" dialogue line. The part of Brynjolf selling elixers I can't do because he's normally dead if you have played the Destroy the Thieves Guild quest, :laugh:. I was thinking explaining everything in Mercer Frey's Journal (which you will have to read to start the quest) about the Nightingales and Karliah and Gallus, the Skeleton Key + the death of Gallus so that you won't noticed that you have missed something when suddently playing the TG09 quest. I'm happy to report that the fix for the Goldenglow Estate works (including secret tunnel), but this somehow needs playing the Destroy the Thieves Guild quest again or maybe you need to kill Maven first (I don't know why, I did set it on the stage where you have to report back to Mjoll). @kromey : This is what I'm hoping to implement. I need to find a way maybe to after you have finished the quest TG09 you can go to the Nightingale Hall and receive the Nightingale armor. But I can't use the Trinity Restore quest for this because It would seem weird as Brynjolf, Gallus and Mercer Frey is dead so there is no trinitiy. If someone has a good suggestion what to place in Mercer Frey's journal, please let me know.
  4. I have tried to put a little sketch together with the voice lines Karliah has, It has been difficult because Karliah has more voice lines for when you have joined the Nightingales. You're right about the Trinity (therefore the quest where you do join the Nightingales during the Thieves Guild questline is called Trinity restored), but I've one problem with it : First there was Gallus, Karliah and Mercer Frey, Gallus got killed by Mercer Frey so there is only Karliah and Mercer Frey left but then you and Brynjolf join the Nightingales which makes the total of 4 Nightingales (You, Brynjolf, Karliah and Mercer Frey). I do going to follow your advice (I didn't taged the mod lore-friendly to throw it away for some suggestions of users) and leave the Nightingales idea to let it be as it is or only let Karliah (and maybe Nocturnal) come after the player (this is still lore-friendly but still unlogical as I doubt that the ghosts of the former Nightingales will attack you as you restored the peace in the Nightingales order (by killing Mercer Frey) and so you took revenge on Gallus dead. This is not a easy task, you have pissed off the Nightingales order too much to join them (by killing the Thieves Guild, Noctural is the patron of the Thieves) but you have helped them (by killing Mercer Frey) too much to be hostile towards you as well). I think I will leave it as it is unless someone could come with an idea which is lore-friendly and logical at the same time.
  6. @kryptopyr : My thoughts exactly, I wanted to make the Nightingales destroyable as well (because of the logical consequences after you have destroyed the Thieves Guild : either Karliah leaves you alone or she will hunt you down because she works in the name of the Nightingales with Noctural (the Patron of the thieves) as moral leader) but I received numerous suggestions from players who want to join them after destroying the Thieves Guild. This is not entirely lore-unfriendly as you did what you would do in the end of the Thieves Guild quest : kill Mercer Frey but you did killed another Nightingale Brynjolf. My idea was to make a compromise between completely lore-friendly and the wishes of the majority of the users : you only can join the Nightingales if you earn their trust and respect again. @Zephyr Kronos : Where does it state that there can only be three nightingales? Okay, maybe the 300 (did you catch the reference to the movie '300'? Immortals?) nightingales are a bit too much and the shadow child was a joke, maybe ten or something (although 300 Nightingales would make an epic fight)?
  7. As you all may know, I've made a mod that allows the player to destroy the Thieves Guild and kill/exile Maven Black-Briar. As a few people suggested they want to do something about the Nightingales as well. I did work out a base concept but I want to hear what your suggestions are. This is the base concept I've come up with : - The player will be greeted by Karliah (don't know how to do this but hey I managed quite a bit, so this wouldn't be so hard to make) and she congratulates you for killing Mercer Frey but she is angry at you at the same time for killing Brynjolf (maybe she had a secret relationship with him and had a shadow child, like in the Game of Thrones), so she makes you an offer, leave the Nightingales alone and (maybe, I don't know how to do this exactly) earn their respect again or be brought down by the shadow legion of the Nightingales (insert epic fight here =P, maybe a level based number of Nightingales ninjas, if your about level 80, maybe 300 ninjas called the Immortals =P). IF you survive the fight, Karliah runs away to the Twilight Sepulcher but leaving bread crumbs (a key, don't walk in the light, ...) laying around and if you reach the bottom of this ruin, there is an epic boss battle between the ghost of Nocturnal with Karliah against you, if you win this fight you find a note on Karliah's body with the location of the skeleton key and the optional ritual you can perform to gain one of Nocturnal's powers. And guess where this key is : yes in the Snow Veil Sanctum... .

Had this problem too with the See You Sleep By Madmole mod, just disable this mod temporally in the mods menu (under powers) and save, disable the esp through restart skyrim and sleep in a bed fixes this problem. This problem generally occurs if you have a mod installed which alters the players sleep procedure.

The thieves guild are not Robin Hood types at all if you play the radiant quests (Vex's shill jobs), you know what I'm talking about : they plant "evidence" that you stole on a innocent person who is framed to be either be arrested or killed by the guards. Even the first quest A Change Arrangement is all about this principle of framing Brand-Shei for personal gain, they are just as evil as the Dark Brotherhood (who you can destroy) but you can't do anything about the Thieves Guild without a mod like mine (link in my signature).

Jarl Laila Law-Giver is exiled in Windhelm by the CWGovernment quest which controls where the Jarls are exiled (I know because I've made a mod that allows you to destroy the Thieves Guild and kill/exile Maven Black-Briar after which Jarl Laila Law-Giver returns, link in my signature), their are two markers one for the Imperial siding jarls (like Balgruuf, Igmund,...) in the Blue Palace in Solitude and one for Stormcloak siding jarls (Jarl Laila Law-Giver but not Korir) in the Palace of the Kings. Hopes this clarifies things for you.
  11. That's the reason I've made this mod :wink:. Does anyone know how to make this mod more popular, I've tried to contact Ka3m0n (to include this mod in the GEMS series) + I did contact a lot of video reviewers, but they seem all oblivious to my request. This mod is great, once you understand what it does and how it works. I put a lot of my time in it and I expected people to appreciate this mod. I've tried to reach the hot files section (I nearly succeeded) but I don't understand how a mod is eligible for this section but the criteria seems to adapt itself (in the past you could get your mod in the hot files section if you had 35 endorsements and 500 downloads, around december it was around 50 endorsements and 1000 downloads, what this mod has but now it seems that you need 60 endorsements and over 1200 downloads, I don't understand a bit of it).
  12. @Allannaa, this video was more to show what the new features are in version 1.1. This mod adds first of all a quest similar to Destroy the Dark Brotherhood, but with Mjoll as questgiver instead of Commander Maro (as in the WIP). There are some hidden gems as well : Delvin turns into a ghost upon death so the ghost of Delvin can finish Delvin's part in the Dark Brotherhood questline (trade amulet for letter of credit and repair the Dawnstar sanctuary), Valentina (= a new NPC) can finish/start the quest No stones unturned, there are guard dialogue lines similar when you have destroyed the Dark Brotherhood. I did make a video featuring the final version of the mod in its totality (combined with the video above), you find this video below (it's more clear than to watch the changes of version 1.1 alone). On the first page of this thread (second post) you can find a video of the WIP and compare what has changed. This mod has not been finished yet, not by a long shot : I keep receiving suggestions about making it possible for the player to join the Nightingales (I might do this, if I managed to get this sorted). If you need more info, I gladly refer you to the modpage and don't hesitate to PM if you have more questions. About the Season Unending requirement (this is a real requirement as stated below) and the Civil war (this is more an advice, I can't prevent you killing her if you don't have finished the Civil War on the Imperial side but I do not recommend this), you notice that there is a letter in the Black-Briar Manor, if you haven't captured Odahviing (and thus get passed the Season Unending quest), this letter will not be there and so you can't kill Maven but you can still do the rest of the quest (what's shown in the video below), this is to prevent the player ending up with no jarl at all when killing Maven before either capturing Riften on the Imperial side or trading Riften for Markarth in the Season Unending quest.   16. I'm deleting the poll, because it's released anyway. I think i'm going to take Mjoll as new questgiver (due the incompatibility of Commander Maro with the db questline).
  17. @NaomeShade : you can't create new dialogues (let alone duplicate existing ones (as they don't have the same path as the original)) so you have to unpack the Skyrim - Voices.bsa with BSAopt (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/247) and place it and rename it like it is displayed in the response form. Lipsyncing is another problem, as the one from the creation kit isn't great so you have to do it manually (I don't know how to do this either). It's easier to start fresh and with voice acting. Or you can do this like mans1ay3r edit the dialogues with other dialogues (like I did).

  19. @NaomeShade : good idea, about Mjoll being the questgiver (does she have dialogue lines that will explain the mission?). About the Stones of Barenziah, they are not useless after destroying the thieves guild. Valentina becomes the questgiver for the No stones unturned, so you can sell the completed crown to her (the quest still keeps progressing but with her as questgiver instead of vex). The reward is negotiable ofcourse (if you find it too little gold for all the things you have being into, I can raise it).

I need some help with making Valentina a follower, to do this I need to fill the default follower commands with Vex's reponses (as Vex and Valentina shares the same voicetype, this voicetype is very limited so you have to think outside the box). Here are my suggestions (first the name of the shared dialogue line, followed by the text in brackets is the line she says and the last bit is optional commentary (displayed in bold). Have you got other suggestions, please feel free to post them, but beware it must be a dialogue line vex uses or I can't use it, some of the suggestions are interchangeable, meaning they might fit better with a other follower command). Dismiss = TGRVexGuildMasterDecline01 (Suit yourself. You're the boss.) TGDoneQuitVex01 (Fine. Next time, save me the trouble and pass on it from the beginning.) Wait here = TGRVexDecline06 (Look, if you just want to sit around the Flagon all day getting drunk, that's your business. Just quit wasting my time.) Made some important progress, I've tested the TGCrown quest (I had to add markers to the Stones of Barenziah, I might not include this in the final version because despite I've done it differently than toadime (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9385, he uses GetDisabled != 1.00 which he runs on the Quest Alias : TGCrownGemActivatorAlias, and I use GetInContainer == 0.00 with the playerref as function info which I run on the TGCrownGemInventory itself), I don't want to get in any trouble) and it works (even the individual quest objectives) except for 3 little things : 1) Can't seem to make the Quest objective pointer point to Vex or Valentina (Maybe need to use other conditions) 2) Can't make Valentina a follower after the TGCrown quest (Will never happen due lack of follower dialogue lines in her voicetype (femaleuniquevex), can't change the voicetype either (with a script or command)) (tried to add lines and failed) 3) Need to rework the quest's log entries because they mention Vex and the Thieves Guild even if you did the quest for Valentina (might pull this off with conditions, maybe not) I'll update this thread with any progress I've made on fixing these 3 bugs/problems Let me know what you think and keep voting Edit : Quest Log entries seems to work fine with conditions. Note : If you side with Valentina you will not gain the Prowler's Profit perk (but instead you'll recieve 3000 gold). The Quest objective pointer to Vex/Valentina doesn't work, did it work on the original No Stone Unturned quest?
  23. Some bad news folks, I was creating a new NPC (alternate questgiver for the No Stone Unturned quest) but the "destroy the thieves guild" quest kinda broke. I replaced the scripts/esp with the previous version (this was a version before I made the video) and it was fixed. I found the problem (a quest alias which the game couldn't fill and therefore the quest couldn't have started), but I had to make a few steps back in progress (Guards dialogue lines were not added, several bugs needs fixing,...). I was trying to make a variable quest alias (for the quest objectives and quest stage description) but the alias itself wouldn't fill (so I got [...] instead of the alias name), but I've abandoned this idea. I created seperate quest objectives but ingame they aren't recogizned, so I need a few more days to get this sorted. Some Screenshots (Valentina (Mjoll's sister) is the new NPC, first (quest is still running) and second (quest is finished) picture are of Mjoll's house) It seems a majority of the voters want to have this mod released after I have finished the alternate questgiver for the No stone unturned quest. Please keep voting and replying to keep this thread alive.
  24. Well I do want Maro as the quest giver but still want a quest giver for the stone quests so I should actually cancel my vote since I don't want it to be released as it is and I don't want a new quest giver for Maro :P but want the stone quest giver. Oh, now I see. My mistake, sorry.
  25. @ littleork : did you by any chance voted "Create a new questgiver + questhandler for the No Stone Unturned quest before releasing this mod (need voice actors to do this)" while choosing "Commander Maro, do not change". If you want Commander Maro to remain the questgiver, you must choose: "Release it like it's featured in the video" as option to the first question. @AnkhAscendant: I'm a musician :laugh: (see profile picture : i'm holding an electric guitar, my previous avatar was a white jackson KE-3 with EMG's, looked a lot like mine except I have the pinstriped version), that's why i'm not 100% happy with the modified guard dialogue lines, but I did my best searching the right sound. And yes, Vex has a unique voice : femaleuniquevex is her voicetype.
