  1. I think I first heard the term "Good on you" spoken by Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Who was a British character, but was written by American writers and played by an American actor. Other than that, I've also heard it used by a distinctly Australian shark in the movie Finding Nemo. But I've also heard it used by other people here in the US. They may have picked it up from one of the above sources, I dunno.
  2. Got a name for any of the more feminine walk animations? Because I hate the way my toon walks. Doesn't need to be slinky or sexy, just needs to look like she's NOT about to stalk over to a chair, flip it around and straddle it.
  3. If you bothered to read back, instead of immediately going on the defensive, you would notice I HAD been participating in the discussion, happily so, answering the question that was originally posed up UNTIL the point at which Stardusk decided to turn this thread into yet another platform from which to regurgitate the same tired rants. If there's any rudeness here, it's in the fact that Stardusk asked for opinions, and then rather than discussing those opinions, used the discussion as a soapbox from which to pontificate wiith his utterly unoriginal diatribes.
  4. elooocin, have you seen how many threads Stardusk has started his/herself on this first page of the spoiler section alone, and how many of them discuss Alistair and/or Loghain and how many of them devolve into the "Alistair sucks/Loghain rocks"? The very least she/he could do would be to confine it to one thread. Furthermore, I am certain that if she/he had looked through the threads either here or at the Bioware Social site, she/he would have found plenty of threads with the same exact theme. There would have been no need to create more. Finally, it's been done to death. It's tired. Even those of us who haven't been playing the game very long are over. it.
  5. I would be very interested in seeing something like this for Alistair, because honestly, the fact that they re-cycled the same cutscene that is used for the male PC (who may or may not be involved with Morrigan) just doesn't work for me. It doesn't strike the right attitude of reluctance. I can see using the same cutscene for Alistair and Loghain, and MAYBE for a male PC who is not involved with Morrigan, but that cutscene should have a distinctly different feel from the one used for a PC who is involved with Morrigan.
  6. Do we really need another round of "Alistair suxxors!/Loghain roxxors!" trolling? I mean, seriously.
  7. Yes, but as I understand it, the Dwarf noble has already been falsely accused of someone else's crime by the actual criminal himself once. Loghain doing it a second time just might be enough to make my future Dwarf completely disinclined to spare him. She might even take vicarious revenge on Bhelen using him.
  8. You mean aside from the fact that he besmirched my name and that of my order and made me an outlaw accused of the crime he himself committed? Well, when I play a Cousland, I kill him because he was in league with Howe, who slaughtered my family and slandered them as traitors. When I play an elf, I kill him because he was permitting the Tevinters to round up elves and ship them off as slaves. When I play a mage, I kill him because he was in league with Uldrick who was responsible for the disaster in the Tower. I haven't gotten around to playing a dwarf yet. Maybe if he doesn't do anything to exceed the egregious first point I made about him besmirching my name and making me an outlaw, I might see my way clear to sparing him. Given what I understand of what the dwarf noble goes through in their origin, however, that first point alone may be one too many.
  9. Okay, still struggling a bit with this. I don't know why, but these tangled files are confusing me; I'm not normally this dense. Here's what I downloaded: Gatekisses Full Manual ZDF_Addons_174a Morrigan_Restoration_Patch_v109_Manual Combined Romance Scenes (ZDF Already Installed version) I THINK I've got it mostly worked out, but unless I missed it in one of the MANY MANY readme files involved in these various mods, I can't see this issue addresed: party_events.dlb and party_events.dlg (dated 5/6/2010 in Morrigan Restoration Patch and 4/15/2010 in Gatekiss_Full) Which do I keep? There are also epilogue slideshow files in both the Morrigan Restoration Patch and Combined Romance Scenes. I just chose the latter for now, since I don't intend to romance Morrigan right away.
  10. Okay, I'm going through and starting some fresh playthroughs. I'm starting several characters, a few of each sex, one from each origin, and they will be conducting different romances. Instead of changing my mods depending on the character I am playing, I want to have all the stuff I needed installed and done with. I've been following the ZDF/Gatekiss/Combined Romance Scenes mods with great interest since they're taking such troubles to make them all compatible with one another. But at this point, there are so many addons and variations with the mods that I'm not entirely certain what all I should be downloading, as they've become rather tangled. Here's what I want: *All the Alistair changes, including the optional stuff (I'm planning to stick with game-canon in regards to which characters are het or bisexual and romance them accordingly) *most of the ZDF optional files for Shale/Riordan/Cauthrien (don't need the Spanish translation) *All the Morrigan fixes I want the kiss at the gates IF the kisses have been tightened up so that the toons actually make contact; the "nuzzling" thing I was seeing in the videos just isn't working for me. So, lemme test my understanding here: If I download ZDF_For_Morrigan_Fix_Pack I shouldn't have to ALSO download Gatekiss, correct? Assuming I download ZDF_For_Morrigan_Fix_Pack I do still have to download the Morrigan Restoration Patch? Combined Romance Scenes (the ZDF compatible version) will also be compatible with both of these? Then I have to download the rest of the ZDF optional files separately on top of these three? Dialogue Tweaks on top of it all? Y/N Am I missing anything, or do I have anything wrong? (Please tell me when all you fine folk are done with your respective projects that you're going to compile an "All In One" fix pack, please?)
  11. And once again we come back to the fact that in war, bad things happen. The necessary act is not always the "right" act. Both Riordan and Levi Dryden from the Soldier's Keep DLC make a point of emphasizing that, to quote Levi, "The Wardens do what they must." I'm not nearly so upset over the killing of Ser Jory to protect the secrecy of the Joining as I am the lack of continuity of that act to Awakening where apparently the details of the Joining are so well known they become public banter and the ceremony itself is administered by a non-Warden.
  12. The "Custom Bodies and Erotic Cutscenes" project offered a lot of promise of adaptable cutscenes--basically, when initiating sex, JackFuzz was adding in dialogue choices that would take you to different scenes, and depending on which one you chose, it would changing which partner would be in the superior position and whatnot. He wasn't taking it all the way, just allowing for minor variations in the cutscenes depending on the choice of the PC. However, if someone really wanted to create an more extensive library of "flavorful" cutscenes, the same principle could be applied. When dealing with the companion/in-camp scenes, It wouldn't even require any dialogue from the companions. Instead of just having the, "want to join me in my tent?" or "let's go to bed" options, you would have a menu of choices. For (highly exaggerated) example: 1) Hold me (initiates sweet, cuddling by the campfire scene) 2) On your knees, cur! (initiates PC dominant S&M scene) 3) Take me, you beast! (initiates PC submissive scene) 4) Want to try something a little...different? (initiates threesome with Dog--I kid, I kid!) As to the scene with Duncan, yeah, the fic was just an example, of course any dialogue used would be depending on rehashing to voiceover lines already in the game, which would limit things a bit. But the scene itself, anything could go.
  13. And what's the censoring thing about? There's nothing in Lehcar's post that was censorship-worthy.
  14. Well, it would add an interesting element. The sex in DAO is exceptionally vanilla, even using BSC. Duncan gives off "take charge" vibe that could be...interesting.
  15. In a nutshell, I want what is described in this fanfic in the game. Not word for word, of course, but that's the general principle. (Warning: very NSFW) For those of you not willing to read the fic, as a human noble female (and, I'm given to understand, a female mage) you can ask Duncan to come to your room to continue your "talk" and he turns you down. It would be kinda nifty if he didn't, or if you could talk him into it after his initial refusal.
  16. Does anyone know the approximate distances or travel time to and from various locations in Ferelden? For example, in the human noble origin, how long would the trip be from Highever to Ostagar? I can't seem to find a legend for the travel map in game.
  17. Not even remotely related to the proposed mod, but am I alone in the fact that learning that Howe was voiced by Tim Curry suddenly made me feel much more badass for having killed him?
  18. I've got Winter Forge installed, but I haven't actually used it and I'm most of the way through my playthrough. I'm finding the whole thing with tracking down recipes and hunting down materials on vendors to be daunting. I just want to upgrade the damn armor so that my Warden Commander gear isn't Tier 3 when fighting the archdemon, not take on a whole new tradeskill. Grrr... (at WF, not you, Darkwolfe) As for the second problem, I think I found the answer. When using skills where there are four tiers of the same skill (like pickpocketing, or poison making or whatever) you have to drag the icon from the FIRST tier down to your bar, not from the other tiers.
  19. 1) I see references here and there about selling armor to a merchant to upgrade it...presumably to the next tier? How does this work? I've tried just about everything I can think of and it still doesn't seem to get upgraded. 2) How do you get skills or talents onto your hotbar? I'm doing some shuffling of my skills, and a skill that I THOUGHT I wouldn't need on my (and so I dragged it off and removed it) it ends up I need after all. How do I get that back on my bar? I try dragging it from my skills window onto my bar, but that doesn't work, which is weird because I could swear I've done it successfully in the past. Any clue why I am unable to do this?
  20. Brokenergy, I'm not sure what it is that the OP was talking about that you think is a bug, but everything she is describing is correct behavior for the character, and ADP won't change it.
  21. Actually, Alistair tries to bring the subject of an heir up with a human noble as well, so it is of concern. But the human noble can pretty much brush the issue aside since there are no other strikes against her. And, honestly, I am not sure what happens if, as a human noble, you choose another conversation option other than "Well, it won't be for lack of trying." I may try it on my current play-through and see if he breaks up with her after all. The fact is, he's an illegitimate son, raised as a commoner. As far as he knows, he's the son of a scullery maid, and the truth would be worse if anyone ever actually found out. His reign is on VERY shaky ground. If he were to marry an elf, or a mage, it would make his reign just that much less stable. If he added the lack of an heir on top of that instability, his reign would almost certainly collapse. Alistair's not a jerk for tending to political realities. YOU made him king; you have to accept that he's got to start making decisions AS KING.
  22. Yep. Sorry, but without a mod, elves can't be queen, nor mages. However, if what you are after is his cameo scene in Awakening, the scene for a mistress is pretty much the same as the scene for the queen, minus a couple times where he refers to you as his wife.
