No, but I tried using the texture from it, but they are set up completely differently so it didn't work. (And even if his dog tag is nice in itself, it doesn't actually work as a neck seam concealer, which is the main idea of my mod, so I can't switch to it.) I'll message him. For anyone knowledgeable with texturing, I'd guess it's a 5 minute job. EDIT: I messaged dragbody as he is the author of Drags Seam Concealers in the first place and seems to make textures as well.

I'm updating my mod Distributed Necklaces and Chains for Fallout 3 so it will add necklaces and chains to males as well as females. For that, I'm using the resources in Drags Seam Concealers, which uses vanilla textures from Fallout New Vegas. This is fine for several of the pendants as Fallout 3 has the same textures, but the Dog Tags uses textures from the Dog tag fist, which doesn't exist in Fallout 3. So I'm wondering if someone is willing to make a dog tag texture for the mesh? You'd get proper credits of course. It's my favorite necklace from the set (together with the Skull Pendant) so I'd really like to have it included. I could upload the mesh and/or textures separately if it helps.

Here it is: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21225/? I wouldn't have been able to make it without pixelhate helping out with NifSkope, so cheers to him. I didn't even know that you could add collision with it - I thought you'd need a 3D program for that. But NifSkope is very powerful - wonderful app.

Thanks for the info and the link. Seems a bit complex, but I'll give it a shot.

OK, so far so good, although I'll have to tweak the entire tower a bit. My current issue is that the havok for the resulting tower is still connected to the first metro ticket I started out with, so the tower sinks through the table a bit (until it connects with the havok for that card I guess) - and it also behaves oddly when moved, sinking almost completely through surfaces when upside down etc: Here's how it looks in NifSkope Can I redraw the havok so it's like the actual form of my tower?
-
Right, thanks! I guess my main issue is that I use NifSkope a couple of hours with years apart - so I basically never learn anything. The same with the GECK. I start over from scratch each time I do anything. I had actually never noticed the metro ticket tower in the Olney Powerworks during my earlier playthroughs. It will make for a nice little souvenir in the player home. I also noticed a smoking Garden Gnome there - might mash it as well.

Thanks. I saw that, but it mentions NiTriShape, which I don't have in my version of NifSkope. The closest I come is NiTriStrips. I'll try following it, but using NiTriStrips rather than NiTriShape. EDIT: Yes, that seems to be it. Thanks!

This is a bit annoying as I did almost exactly what I want to do now a year ago, when I combined nifs to make my Chess Set, but now I've forgot how I did it and I can't find any tutorial that seems fitting (well, I can find tutorials, but none that seems to work for what I want to do. (For instance, the NifSkope/Working With Nifs 101 : Copy and Paste part of the tutorials on SourceForge doesn't exist.) Basically, I want to rebuild this tower of Metro Tickets with an 8-Ball on the top, so combining a bunch of metro tickets plus an 8-ball and then mash them together into a single nif. Anyone who can recommend a tutorial for this?

Help with NifSkope - turning a static into havoked clutter
Arkngt replied to Arkngt's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
That worked like a charm. Many thanks, I would never have figured it out on my own. EDIT: I've released it as Pickable and Placeable Ashtray with Cigar. -
So I'm trying to turn the static mesh ashtray03smoke.nif, which is an ashtray with a cigar emitting smoke, to an item that you can pick up and place, much like the ordinary ashtray. So far I've managed to change it from static to clutter etc. with NifSkope, but I'm pretty much stuck with an edited version that has the havok/collision box detached from the ashtray itself, which makes placing it all but impossible. Also, while it seems to be possible to place it on the floor or the bed in the Megaton Home, it seems to sink through the table when placing it there. In short, it's kind of messed up and I'm not sure what to edit. Basically, I've tried mimicking the ordinary ashtray mesh as much as possible - and I've also tried following the tips in this (and the linked) thread. Anyone who knows the basics of NifSkope and can help me out?

In response to post #18358244. OK, thanks.

Should I post about my issue in another section and, if so, in which one? It would be nice to have it fixed as it makes the plugin names so messy.

In response to post #18305589. I don't think my browser has anything to do with it as this is downloads via NMM, but I'm using Chrome. I just checked and I have the same issue with Firefox. Check the picture in my earlier post for lots of different archives with this issue. Two examples: Jaxonz%20Droppable%20Statics-57756-0-1.zip Realistic%20Clouds%202K-56137-1-1.7z

In response to post #18280794. I'm only playing Skyrim ATM, so no idea about other games. It started happening August 28:th. Before that it had never happened - after that it happens with almost all downloads, but not all. Using NMM 0.52.1. Here's a screenshot of the download folder: http://i.imgur.com/gPZgJAo.jpg

Not sure where to put this question, but I have an issue with NMM downloads since a while, namely that most downloaded archives get a lot of added %20 signs. It can look like this: Reproccer%20Patches%20SkyRe%20%20%20-48629-2-5-1.7z

It's the boot meshes in the mageapprentice folder rather.

In response to post #11418124. "i really wonder why the nexus doesnt go to "supporters only"-modus operandi. after all, no "leechers", reduced costs and so on and so on... why not?" Because that would mean that it would cost money to download mods, which isn't allowed.

More fixes: Wiki, download history, favourites games, profiles
Arkngt replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
You should have the option to continue using NMM the old way. As it is I won't update beyond 0.46 for the foreseeable future as I'm not interested in having different profiles and surely don't want NMM to uninstall or reinstall everything. -
Scheduled down-time on all sites Monday, 2nd December 2013

Honestly, I'll be happily surprised if Nexus ever runs as it should during my lifetime. -
Not sure if this is the correct thread so sorry if not. I have to say that I find the 30 sec video ad when downloading files insufferable. It's even in German to make it as annoying as only possible. Anyway, I don't want to go into a discussion about the need for ads etc., as this is so glaringly annoying that it's beyond debate IMO. It's exactly the kind of stuff that makes me avoid sites in the first place if at all possible. Personally I'm going to move my mod to TES Alliance as I feel embarrassed to be involved even indirectly with a site that uses such ads.

Great feedback. Really makes me want to bother with reporting stuff in the future.

I noticed that the meshes in HGEC more revealing standard armor for OOO have absolute paths, which means they won't find the textures for almost any user. While making a post about it I noticed that slashes are removed when making a post, i.e. you can't describe a path, such as c:\installs\oblivion\data\textures\armor\wornsteel\m\cuirass.dds in this case. Instead it becomes: c:installsobliviondata exturesarmorwornsteelmcuirass.dds. This seems like a bad idea to me as it's very useful to be able to do so for trouble shooting issues, reports on faulty paths, missing resources etc. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30623 Also, when trying to give the file a thumbs down, as it doesn't work w/o fixing the meshes with NifScope, that didn't work either. Clicking on Submit (with an option selected of course) doesn't do anything at all. This with Chrome.
