  1. If I can't play my fiddle while Skyrim burns, I'll consider their new engine kind of a failure :( Even if my indifference at some point means my guy will pass the point of no return and the world will be doomed, he'll be killed and unable to continue robbing and beating people up  . If they threaten to blow up the world if I don't do their little quest, they'd better bring some C4, and that dragon dude that eats worlds too. "Failure is always an option!" :P
  2. I think you're right, especially because of that whole civil warry thing going on, with a dead king, everyone scrambles for the throne. No more Skyrimperial Legion (not sure if that's lore friendly, but u get the point) soldiers all over the place. Roads would actually be dangerous, and people would travel in groups if they travelled at all. Opens the world up for a whole new set of escortey quests too. I also believe bounties should be just that, a price on your head, if it's big enough, word'll get around, but no one'll attack the huge nord who stole an apple. Only murders n' robbing caravans etc. should get your bounty up and around. Also how do they always magically know when I'm breaking/ have broken the law, some sorta Oblivion CSI, cuz that would be a cool guild, but probably wouldn't fit in in Skyrim.ALSO bounty hunting as a job, forgot this. That'd be sweet!
  3. I hope they just find a way to make it interesting. Like maybe at any location on the path to your fast travel destination, it dumps you off in a heavy blizzard, or under attack. In Skyrim fast travel should definitely be weather permitting. No fast travelling in a blizzard, if u really need get out, pack up, and trek your way through the storm, making fires and shelters and killing stuff. Maybe a quest when you're stuck in a village under heavy storm, requires you to fight something(can you imagine a better time for an all-out vampire attack on a town, dark multiday storm?! :woot: ) or flee through the storm. There'd better be blizzards in Skyrim, or you might as well be in Florida with a few inches of snow on the ground. 8) Also rivers and lakes should freeze seasonally or year round, and falling through could be another one of those fast travelly interrupting events. All this would still keep the convenience of fast travel, but make it more plausible, dangerous, and definitely less repetitive.
  4. and slow hypothermia approaching? well no problem, lets dig here a campspot put up some tents and fire. mmm cozy, then to hunt deer in nearby forest and feast in the moonlight. ahah well I think they will make hunting profitable in TESV Fast travel would totally nerf that, so maybe make it possible for fast travel to fail, and dump you like halfway there in a blizzard. Now that'd be hardcore.
  5. Today I woke up snowed in, and I wanna see some pictures of this "dynamic snow" stuff. Will it actually make travel in a blizzard impossible, will you need snowshoes, except magical people, who could just melt it or do some kinda "walk on snow" spell. Also I wanna ski , have snowballs, and maybe a dungeon that's like tunnels in the snow, or at least some kinda monster tunneling in the snow after you, just saw tremors
  6. Since you're in Skyrim, I believe outdoors survival should be part of the hardcore mode. You'll probably die if you "wait" for a few hours in a heavy blizzard. I think woodcutting will probably have constructing some sort of makeshift shelters or even your own house. I also hope you get to design your own house, and like expand it and stuff.
  7. I've seen it written in stoneon several official websites.Unless they fold or roll it back, it's a sure thing right now
  8. I think he meant " Could die", I'm pretty sure he said something along the lines of "we recorded everyone saying this, saying that, and dying." I think he meant there won't be a linear plotline like in oblivion, and your actions really sway the outcome, not just like fallout sway, where you either do something, or have someone else do the same thing, then it ends, but a real choice, where you can choose charge in and save the day, or watch the world fall apart. Maybe there'll actually be common sensey ways to fail the main quest.I remember in Oblivion I just kept attacking the emperor in the dungeon, and constantly fighting with all the unkillable npcs in the main quest, and only found like 2-3 places where I can actually fail the main quest, and that only resulted in a popup saying "[name here] has died, there is no hope now." What if I want Dagonpocalypse or dragons to eat the world, what if.....
  9. I'm really looking forward to seeing their new dynamic falling snow! I mean, can you track people in light snow, and how much will accumulate, it'd be kinda cool trekking through 2-3 feet of snow in a blizzard looking for shelter. If my best snow hopes come true(lotso snow, not just snow piling up on branches and rocks, but real accumulation) there'll probably be skis or snowshoes.Or snowmobiles and a "walk on snow" spell. Those'd be cool too. :turned:
  10. Didn't u also hear about the Spiders? They actually have webs n' stuff. They let it slip, something about the havoc physics of someone trying to get out of a web. Also havoc physics.Nice. I wanna see more bout the new skills though, bet they'll release them one at a time.
  11. My definite first choice would be a giant spider! that would be just freaking epic! Even if he didn't follow me around he could guard my treasures in my basement and I'd always find tons of skeletons in his webs. Also I could ride him around like a horse. I wanted giant spiders when info about fallout3 came out, and I finally got them. Don't know who'd voice act for spiders though, but maybe it'll just be dialogue boxes.
  12. [ this will sound a little weird but. i always loved the smell of opening a brand new game case. it felt right. Downloading from the internet doesn't have the same feeling.] I know and I bought a game in the box, enjoyed the smell, but when I installed it autolinked to steam :wallbash: , and now no longer is playable due to major bugging, well technically playable for 3-5 minutes in windowed mode before crashes.2K told me it's steam's problem over tech support, and steam, well, they don't tell me ANYTHING :verymad: Bethesda will do well to avoid them in the future, steams smudged reputation might rub onto them if they collaborate for Skyrim. If we all whine about steam someone might hear.
  13. I could not agree with you more, I also extend your ideas, and say that I should never play a game through to the same end 2 times. With their new world shaping engine based on you and emphasis on randomization should make many slightly and vastly different endings possible, like what if I'm out cooking soup  or cutting down trees  or smithing my own weapons, and news about the town under attack never reaches me in time. Also, what if I'm just an evil maniac, why would anyone even turn to me for help. The world would be up a creek, and world destruction might be a damper on playing after MQ completion, but I like options. In each game, looking back after the completion, I should remember"that time that town got wiped out, or I swooped in just in time." or "that time I was nice and helped rebuild said town, or not"
  14. I wonder if the new skills, (woodcutting, blacksmithing, etc..) will be like new core skills, that would cover the gap since Morrowwind.I hope u can build ur own houses w/ woodcutting, or at least expand.I wanna a wilderness hut over my evil cave basement that I all design and build :) . I hope finally good houses will be achievable and customizable, but not through Construction set or DLCs, but w/ lots of player $ and effort.
  15. I'm afraid you're right. Steam takes good games and just.... meh. The only game that has worked without a content deleting, game crippling, lose all my progressing failures on steam is Mafia 2, all other games: won't go to fullscreen and crash randomly, Civ 5, Won't do multiplayer ,CoD MW2, or just break like once a week, everything else.Only if Steam majorly gets their act together in the next 11 months will I buy a steamed Skyrim, and by that I mean, 1. a help line that doesn't just end up in a message in Washington saying "no tech support", or 2. If they eventually get around to answering my emails or open tech issues, after their prewritten autosent response didn't help (is ur computer on?, is the game installed?, try all these again indefinitely before contacting us etc...) :wallbash: , they just didn't get back to me! :verymad: If steam were my neighbors I would light my poop on fire on their doorstep. Thats how bad they are. I hope my smileys drove home my rant's point, steam SUCKSSS, and with the distributive property, Steam(games on steam)= Sucky games  Bethesda please keep away from steam, just stick with the smaller direct download companies who can still hear the customer.
  16. Since it's vikingy probably a wide variety of axes and shields, big shield smashing axes, and maybe some throwing axes too, and since there's wood cutting , probably normal axes too.Going out on a limb, maybe a bow that shoots axes?hint hint bethesda
  17. When it comes to modding, remember, "the modder knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to fix or remove, but when there is nothing left to add." As long as the game and it's mods lack something, anything really, no matter how superfluous or superficial, massive or mundane, smart or incredibly stupid, that I want at all, and I'm still part time employed when this goes down, I will use mods no matter how much you beg me not to, and if there's no cars or electric guitars in the final release they leave me no other option.
  18. I left three BIG things out in my very BIG paragraph. I wanna ski and dive on sunken ships and play pipe organ like I do in real life, bcuz skis have been around since like 3000 B.C, organ since like 200 A.D., and sunken treasure, well, since the invention of water.
  19. High elf or catman who does spells, but has a humble side, and shoots and stabs people too. Also depending on feasibility, he'll live in his own lil' shack in the woods that he builds and pillage and raid.
  20. With all the snow probably snow related mods, I'm rootin for skiing.
  21. I really hope they do something w/ player houses. I saw woodcrafting and thought: Wooden armor? NO, wooden weapons? Maybe like a staff or something, but HOUSES n' furniture?! probably. If u can't flat out build ur own haus ich hope you can do something pretty close, like expand or renovate. Also I wanna ski in Skyrim, it would be like the best way to get down a mountain fast
  22. WAY more voice actors.Seriously, not just 1 or 2 per race, they don't need to be actors, just take people off the streets to do it, or even put some in by yourselves, have the staff do it .I'm tired of the eolquent peasants, blatant repitition of conversation by the same guy(but different NPC). Add some random faces too, tired of people looking the same, even if you have to randomize, I'd rather have some wierd lookin' peasants than the status quo. Maybe also just random nameless city dwellers, make the cities look like cities instead of just walled towns of 20-50 people.Add a little medieval urban sprawl. Crowds in the market, at commute times. Even at high noon Oblivion cities are kinda like ghost towns, save the scheduled commuter or, meh, guards. I hope the new engine comes with all new detection, It's impossible to play as stealth assassins when you have to drop your enemy in one hit or duke it out with them when they pinpoint your location in that dark crevice after the first shot. Some kinda custimization options when it comes to houses, like what if I want that satanicy necronomicon basement in my winter home, not Anvil. Maybe make some contractors for expanding/renovating, if you can't build up anymore, dig down, make lairs possible through hard work and lots of $, not buyable DLCs. Allow player to designate a place in the world as his hideout, when I first played, I dumped all my loot in a hard to access abandoned fort tower, and a week later when all my things were gone I was like WTF. Do something with bodies upon cell respawns, and maybe dragging bodies to conceal crimes. If I slaughter people out in the woods, there'd better be bones there for a while. When all the towns guards chase me to my basement, and they all die, I don't want them to just randomly disappear, or sit there indefinitely, maybe turn to skeletons?Add some real treasure, like bars of precious metals(gold, silver, maybe Iron n' copper), DUBLOONS, more diverse jewelry and trinkets, and more diverse jewels. I wanna emerald as big as my hand for my crown(maybe if I can't do it myself, some kinda jewel crafters I can contract).look to Oscuro for some suggestions. As others have said, scaling and leveling, it should all be configurable in some kinda menu, some just want a casual game, but some megalomaniacs(me included) out there want to eventually be god, if I worked my way to level 30 I want to twist the world to my every whim, and if anyone stands in my way, they'd better be godly too, not just the local guards who've leveled with me, or the crazyass magical superbeasts that now roam every inch of the wild just because I'm so powerful.Something with bounties, like if I'm wanted in one town, maybe that spreads around to other towns after a week or so, unless I'm very heinous. Some lesser things, like shoplifting or brawling shouldn't transfer at all. Different dungeon interiors, Seriously, looking in the construction set just reaffirms this, more than 2 or 3 "Caveentrance" or "Caveslope".Even different colors or vibes would solve like 90% of this problem. Upon clearing out caves or ruins, maybe live there? Cave entrances aren't all just the same door? Actual functioning mines to own or mess with, make them pay for protection or invest in them. Since Skyrim is cold, this is less of a problem, but when I just sorta leave my meat and fruit lying around it stays fresh? What if I want to eat rotten meat and moldy bread? Cool and surreal at first, but without question its one of the easiest things to change. If I'm a powerful mage, I shouldn't need a fancy altar that takes all my money if I want to enchant or make spells, this should be based on skill. Every faction should be somewhat joinable, what if I just wanna be a bandit or necromancer while the world falls apart. Which brings me to my final point, non linear main quest. If the fate of the world is in my hands, I should be able to accidently drop it along the way with a bad decision, or , if I'm feeling evil, just crush it with my powerful little fingers. Different endings, not all good. If I F-up bad enough it should destroy the world, and if I excel, the opposite of world destruction. This is the extremely condensed version of all the things I want from Skyrim, kind of a wishlist. If you toughed it out and read the whole thing, congratulations, now you should say something about it.
  23. Like what OOO did, add some actual treasury stuff to the game, no leveling, diversity in different areas. Since in Skyrim, definitely skiing! SKIING!
  24. K. First, I think the Oblivion Mod Manager should suit all of your needs. An overhaul covers about every category except managers and boosts/fixes.I think OOO literally installs itself at this point, and that should keep you entertained for a long time to come.
  25. I've found a perfect spot for a little shantytown, -53, 2, that whole coastal area, flat enough, isolated, kind of a little bay. That's where I put a pirate camp in my lil' mod. I don't think anyone's put anything there except for me.
