  1. Hmm, well... buying a new rig for just 1 game is something strange, isn't it? (For 2 games... maybe :P hehe just kidding) However, my last upgrade was about 2 months ago and I'm satisfied with the current set. So, I won't buy new stuff (a new cpu 4example) - not even 4 the really nice TES-series. - And no, a SSD is no option in the near future. (long-term stability&price per GB) WEI //cpu OC for testing purposes Heaven 2.5 //catalyst 11.1 or 11.2 / quality @Carah - I doubt that you will need more than 4GB for a decent Skyrim-experience. In case if I'm wrong, then read this after 11.11.2011 @Sketchy77 Shame on you ;) _frost_
  2. A decent psu is an important investment. Brands are as Illiad86 said a possibility to get a good psu, but it shouldn't be the only criterion. Even companies like Samsung, Asus, LG, Sony have crappy stuff in their assortment from time to time. And it's of course the same with psu-manufacturer. I'm using this here cause of good reviews although it's not well known - even here in Germany (their low-cost-section is not really good lol). http://www.lc-power.de/index.php?id=251&L=1 Regarding DDR3-1600&Phenom. You can have phenome... well.. nice ;) results with that combination. HAF 932 is a nice case, well the only point of criticism is that cheesy card-holder-thing. BUT - it's quite ok, even if you have a large gpu or much stuff installed. http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/8963/caser.jpg better quality=> http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/5812/cased.jpg At the bottom is my previous gpu as size comparison - good old HD5770 :). _frost_
  3. Hmm just keep in mind - the GT 240 has only ~50% performance of a HD 5770. I think it's a bad choice if you want to save 30€.(cheapest offer) _frost_
  4. Thandal, you know - the amount of disagreement vs agreement here, is not representative for the whole community. It's not a thread against advertising on this site, in general. However, an anonimous voting among all members regarding this specific subject would lead to a very funny result ;). _frost_
  5. I don't use OBGE but I can try, we'll see. Regards _frost_
  6. I'll check it out. Have the same cards but not full flashed to 6970, just shaders unlocked. _frost_ Result: It works. I can't see any problems regarding AntiAliasing. I removed the second card, just to be sure. Same result. You may try the driver from the card-package or hmm I have to think about it.
  7. Very nice work Illiad86!
  8. Hehehe - I know, what I'm doing ;]. _frost_ P.S. the names 4 the buttons are "Startup" and "Services"
  9. If you're using windows7 then just click the "Start"-button and type the word "msconfig" in the search-field-thing (I don't know the right word for it (search field area? ;)). Start the msconfig-program by pressing enter/return. Click the button with the name "system start" or something like that. Then you can select the apps you want to disable or not. Just check or uncheck them on the left side. The button next to "system start", on the left is also helpful to deactivate unnecessary processes, but it's too difficult for me to explain it in English. And it's too risky to try it, cause it contains important stuff for the proper function of the os itself. So it's better not to change these settings if you don't know what you're doing exactly. Windows xp has something similar if I remember right. _frost_
  10. Enter your bios and set your new card as primary graphics device (or something like that). Disable the internal/onboard graphics-card and don't forget: The only cable should be the one from your new gpu to your display. Save the settings&reboot. _frost_
  11. The 5770 is still a good choice if you don't want to spend too much for a gpu. _frost_
  12. You can use this instead: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23254 I think it's the same.
  13. Try this: http://tesnexus.com/...le.php?id=27649 Regards _frost_ No that wasnt it i don't think :( I know it's on here somewhere but I just can't remember the name of it, like the bars it added were all sorts of different colors and it could be used with different UI mods :( You mentioned the things which are on the sample picture of the mod. I'm sorry if the different colour-bars differ from your expected c_bars :P. Alternative ==> This nice mod from - surprise surprise - theNiceOne ;) http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34905 _frost_
  14. Try this: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27649 Regards _frost_
