  1. I want to redesign Ulfric Stormcloak's face, but I don't want to make it so that I can't get the old face back once I've made the mod. This is more a mod for other people who might want a different appearance facially for Ulfric, personally I like the vanilla look, but it's fun for me to change it for others. What I'm worried about is that once I've changed it, I won't be able to get it back to the way it was for my personal playthroughs. My idea is just to duplicate the Ulfric file, edit it, upload the mod, and then delete it from my CK so I still have the vanilla Ulfric appearance, is this likely to work?
  2. Can someone make a tutorial on adding dialogue to NPCs? I can't get my head around it at all.
  3. I've learned how to make an NPC and place him/her in the gameworld, but I can't seem to find any detailed guides/information on how to create that NPC so he/she is a follower? Does anyone have any information on how to do this? I've got my character in-game, specifically in the Dragon Bridge Tavern, but right now he's just a generic NPC and I can't find any tutorials on how to make him a fully fledged follower? PS: I'm also not sure how to keep a character in one place instead of them moving about in their location? What I've done is place my character so that he's looking at a specific object, I needed him to so that his dialogue can explain why, but he just keeps walking about?
  4. Ok thanks for that, I'll try and get started. EDIT Modding is complicated...
  5. Alright literally what I want to do is make a group of bandits that are part of a new clan, inspired by ancient Celts, that can appear randomly throughout the player's travels and attack them. My inspiration comes from the Forsworn, but I wanted a more Celtic looking bandit faction, members of which would have a Braveheart 'William Wallace' style look to them (warpaint and all). I'm completely new to modding so I suppose this might be seen as jumping the gun, but I thought of the mod so I might as well try and make it instead of trying to think of something more simple. If anyone can point me to specific links and pages that cover creating new world factions, creating looks for them, and explaining how to randomize their locations/appearances in-game, I'd be really greatful. I'm looking myself through the wiki of course, but help is really appreciated! http://techreport.com/r.x/2011q4/skrim-wallace-feature2.jpg
  6. My biggest drive in modding would be to create more creatures and monsters for Skyrim, such as goblins, different werebeasts, different deer models for new species, etc.... Now the recent developer mod video showed what 'we can do in the CK' and demonstrated the creations of the team essentially to inspire us to create our own mods in a similar way. What struck me most were the goblins, the werebear and the vampire 'overlord' models, those are exactly the type of things I want to learn how to create, but my question is whether or not it is possible? The tutorials on the wiki don't seem to cover how to create new creatures using the CK, and I'm not even sure at the moment whether the CK allows us to do these type of things...
  7. I agree, there is no 'ending' to Skyrim, you simply exhaust every quest and location to the point where there aren't any more to find. The main quest doesn't give closure because the whole point is that you're meant to continue on and basically just complete quests given by modders or in future DLCs. I think most people just expect some sort of closure at the end of the main quest, but there isn't really, you're just left standing on the throat of the world and left to think 'Well...guess I'll go back down the mountain then...'. Oblivion was the same, you won the battle against Merunes Dagon, and then you're meant to go back into the world and carry on exploring (usually what little there is left to explore). It's not a bad thing, it's just reality, they couldn't make unlimited quests, that are proper voice acted quests with real plots, so instead they leave it open, sure there's probably not much left to do by for most people, especially on their first playthrough, but it's better than a Fallout ending where you literally are DONE and you have to re-load to do anything else.
  8. Thanks for the info LadyAubrie.
  9. I just loaded it up and I have no idea what I'm looking at... It's probably easy to use, but I've never modded before and I have no idea where to look for help.
  10. Yeah...but it's all relative in-game, Khajit are banned from towns, yes, but they're not hanging from trees outside of Whiterun either.
  11. Honestly I'm not sure myself... I know a lot of people are saying just to download some mods and do another playthrough, but I just can't face doing that again, I have literally explored every location and completed every quest I care to complete in the game, this is all on my first and only playthrough. I know some can, but I personally just can't stand the idea of doing everything all over again when I know exactly what dialogue is going to be said and exactly what is going to happen. I also feel like starting over again just makes everything I've done with my character pointless, I've gotten pretty attached, despite not giving him any backstory. I'm waiting for quest mods basically...
  12. I've shared some ideas I have on the blog. :)
  13. I've read the backstory section on the site and it all sounds amazing, I especially love the factions, the idea of more barbaric wild nords sounds really interesting. The only help I can give for this mod would be voice acting, so when the time comes you can count me in to help if you wish.
  14. The Thalmor are obnoxious tools....but they're our obnoxious tools...
  15. When looking at the Alik'r agents during the quest found in Whiterun, I noticed a distinct lack of 'diversity' in their group, they were all Redguards bizarrely, which is amazing I know since they come from Hammerfell, so I wasn't that miffed when I saw that the Stormcloaks were made up of Nords, it made sense seeing as they're in Skyrim... I imagine the Argonian cities in Blackmarch and their armies in Morrowind aren't exactly overrun with men and elves either... I just couldn't help seeing the Empire as having run it's course, I didn't like the fact that the Dark Elves and Argonians were confined to different quarters, but a united front is needed to stop the Thalmor, in my opinion, and it never looked like the Empire was going to provide that front with all their running in circles, so Ulfric and the Stormcloaks could at least keep a simple dogma to their cause.
  16. Are you playing outside? It's cold but I've got the central heating on so it's all good.
  17. Clearly this is Mrs Stormcloak.... http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/8/82/Galmar_Stone-Fist.png
  18. Well we have jets, tanks, missiles and an all manner of things that go boom, so I think we'd be good!
  19. I use this one because I'm not a fan of the vanilla green face paint that obscures most of her face... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=7200 For my part, I was simply curious as to why all the love for Aela over other NPCs?
  20. What exactly is this facination with Aela? I couldn't stand her and I was rolling my eyes at every butch macho thing that came out of her mouth...
  21. As a proud Nord of Skyrim in-game....this sums up my thoughts on inter-racial marriage to Elves and Beast men... :armscrossed: 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8jmRFZQyUI#t=0m37s
  22. I think most people know and love the Stormcloak officer outfit, it's rough, it's viking...ish and it's what we imagine the Stormcloaks as looking like. The regular Stormcloak soldiers on the other hand are just awful! I don't know who's idea it was at Bethesda to make the entire Stormcloak army just a retexture of the hold guards, but it was terrible. I hate fighting or joining an army comprised mostly of just clones, it really takes me out of the game, I want to see the faces of the Stormcloak army, I want to feel like I'm not fighting a faceless mass of blue drones. :geek: Lately I've been seeing mods coming out that retexture the guards of holds to give an individual look for them, as well as allowing you to see their faces, and it's really made me enjoy the game just that little bit more, what I'm hoping is that the same can be done to the Stormcloaks and enable then to have an army that is unique and has character, as opposed to the vanilla army of guards it has now. http://images.uesp.net/thumb/2/21/Stormcloak-soldier.png/180px-Stormcloak-soldier.png Bleh! Not a fan of the blue colour. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_7Ep9cihw6vc/TP0-CG6clnI/AAAAAAAABrA/vFYiOaICsJI/s1600/viking%2Bdrawing.jpg  ...or maybe even... http://www.thekidswindow.co.uk/images/CMScontent/Image/8(1).jpg
