  1. Those things that hang around trees? There are many in "warm" areas (so not around dawnstar :P).
  2. Not entirely true. If i grab a body, it gets grabbed where my mouse cursor is. Like the arm or head. The same with stuff like a broom or books. But it doesnt really matter, its still a pain to place them like you want. It took my 5 minutes (!) just to place some of those nord-claws (for the riddle doors) on a table ... just to come by some time later and they were everywhere, but not on the table.
  3. I found heavy dragonbone around level 45, so it can drop (but incredible rare, ~150 hours and just one drop). The only think ive never seen droping is deadric stuff.
  4. I would do this. Two-handed weapons have a longer-reach than their single-handed counterparts. And if you have a bow, then you're laughing. This is classic. What's the best two handed strategy? Use a bow! All kidding aside, I know about the height trick, but as mentioned it's more of an exploit than a tactic. And besides, at least one of those Silverhands is not shy about switching to a bow himself. Perhaps shouts combined with some time-between-shouts reduction buffs? My meager Whirlwind gave a couple of nice seconds where the Silverhands were out of balance. I just realized, even though the export tool didn't transfer certain traits of my character (like shouts), there should be no reason they can't added manually. *facepalm* That will make a difference. Not really. Many people manage it to complete this questline withhout dragons triggered. Means no shouts. You dont need to rush in headlessly and expect managing to kill them all. You dont need to use exploits or anything like that and a retreat to recover yourself isnt a shame. And trying to keep beeing out of hitrange isnt a exploit. As long as you dont abuse their pathfinding. Another variant: Go into that area and leave it again. They will still be at that level, even if you come back with some levels more. At least i think so.
  5. Argonian. Who needs mainstream races that we got like 39487934 times in other rpgs already.
  6. You can use some sort of hit and run tactics. NPC got a limitet hitrange and you can forcast their hits. So its possible to hit and dodge all their blows. You still need to care about the others, of course. Additionaly you coud exploit the stupid AI. Get yourself of a high point (on a rock or even just a table) and shot them with arrows. They will just run wired around and thats it. Depending on what youre fighting, it works with meleeattacks also.
  7. I got yesterday instakilled with 90% health left on my lvl 4 character on master from this guy that uses just his bare hands on the way to the thief guild ... :D
  8. Yes, but that removes all active effects. Aou have at least to reequip all your items. Dont know how are permanent active effects handeled. Oh, and you really shoudnt change anything else than the features and name of your character. No race change and no gender change. It will break the game.
  9. The only annoying bugs i encountered is a not working labyrinth (german version, no idea if they ever go to fix it) and my inventory got a shitload of questitems i dont need anymore and cant remove ... Some minor bugs also, but they arent worth mentioning. Except of that, i never got a remarkable problem that didnt fixed itsself with a reload.
  10. Take the deadly dragons hard mode mod on master and you will have some sort of challenge. At least till you got 3 resistance sets against ice, fire and lightning. Oh, and Alduin probaly wipes the floor with you.
  11. Theres a book ingame where they describe what they want. And it really soundet like some sort of genocide. But dont ask me where it was, found it on my first character and i didnt played him in weeks, so i cant really remember. But probaly in the Thalmor embassy. I really want a "Back to Morrowind" addon now :(. Revenge for the slavery! Btw, iam not that much into the lore, but ive just read on a wiki, that the Thalmor think, they are some sort of the saviors, because they managed it to defend their land against the oblivion gates. But the Argonians did that too easily (so ive read) and they dont respect them? :D
  12. Leveling items isnt a great idea either. You just rush every item you want and dont have to switch anymore because you always have the best gear? Great idea, a lot of the motivation to play gone. Why you guys think, so few RPGs use a system like that? Also, if you woud make the "normal" items stronger or nerf the craftingskills everyone will whining about useless crafting skills ... Its incredible hard to balance natural drops, fixed drops and crafting system all together and i doubt that any mod will fix that withhout a real big overhaul of the whole system. Have fun waiting for months till the first real overhauls will show up. Some sort of fully fixed loot will probaly work, but how you want to realize that in a game, where u can go everywhere, every time? Except if you also fix the levels of enemys depending on areas, but that will get incredible frustrating ... and also A LOT of work. And eventually it destroys much of the sandbox-part of the game.
  13. Played a full destruction mage on master till around lvl 40. Its only hard at the beginning till you get some magicka regeneration. If you want the "lamermode" skill only destruction and enchanting to 100 (enchanting as soon as possible, destruction comes fast enough after that) and enchant yourself 4 items with -25% cost on destructionspells. Have fun spamming dualspells with 100% staggeringchance. There isnt any NPC ingame that got some sort of stagger immunity as far as i remember. The only things that can kill you are a bunch of bandits or a mage that onehits you. But its pretty boring, reskilled to something else soon after. Oh, and i woud recommend to start and finish the mages academy quest as soon as possible. Its pretty easy except of the endboss (no, not the crazy guy, that isnt a endboss at all -_-). You will get some powerfull magicka reggen stuff. Just get a strong companion and equip him or her with some magic defence. I personally trained blacksmithing (didnt powerlvled it) from the start too, so i coud equip a companion soon with dwarfen stuff. She actually twohittet ... everything. On Master. Except dragons and high hitpoints stuff, of course. I put most of my lvl up points into Health (You will need it ...) and lvled mostly Destruction, Enchanting and Blacksmithing with a bit Summoning and Restoration. Thats it. Was enough in Vanilla on Master from 1 to ~40. Of course i used Light Armor as soon as i coud enchant it with usefull enchants. The only problem is, that you will die a lot early on (later not, dont know why so many people got problems there, staggering lightings while kiting ftw) and you later end up with too low mana to use high lvl spells of other schools. edit: Oh, and i played a Argonian. Min/maxing in Vanilla? Really? edit2: Btw, using enchanting to get 2 spellschools to zero manacost isnt cheating or anything. Its boring as hell, yes, but cheating? It isnt even abusing the game mechanics. Also you shoud consider that mages scale somewhat poorly. I reskilled into sword & board melee fighter (coudnt reskill magicka, so i endet up with low health and stamina) and withhout using alchemy i kill everything with like 2 hits on master at lvl 50 while they cant really hurt me. The only problem are dragons, but iam using the deadly dragons mod.
  14. Hm, maybe you get later, after you did Boethias first quest, another one. But if i think about it, it feels more like that this quest is just wrong. Why isnt there even a name? The Jarl of Solitude is probaly the only one that doesnt change in the game. And maybe shes essential (she plays a role in the civil war and mainquest, depending on your choices), but iam too lazy to try that out now.
  15. Codunt buy it at first too. Did some small quests in riften (like the quests for the both argonians), startet the skooma quest and did the meeting at high hrotgar (gave riften to the imperials). After that i coud buy it withhout becoming jarl first. edit: oh, and i startet the thief guild quests. But just the first one.
  16. Do you use the deadly dragon mod (harder dragons, you mentioned something like that in your first post)? It actually adds new items ...
  17. Does heavy armor give mages any mentionable downside? If not: Deadra Heavy Armor enchantet with 2x -25% of your 2 most used magic schools and a ring + amulett with the same enchants. done. If you dont want Heavy Armor take Dragonbone. The other parts of your gear can be enchantet to your liking. Of course you need smithing and enchanting at 100 for it. And it breaks the game (At least the Vanilla game).
  18. Just do the mainquest till near the end and just do all those other quests. I got instantly bored with my first character also after i finished the mainquest, with my actual one iam above lvl 50 and didnt finished the mainquest yet. Didnt even really startet the DB or Thiefsguild quests ... but slowly it gets a bit repetitive because most quests just need you to run into some dungeon till the end, kill the boss/get a item and run back to the questgiver. Boring after a while. I really expectet more from the quests (why bethesda isnt learning from mistakes?). Had to do a full respec (from mage into fighter) to keep myself interestet. But hey, at least its one of the few games the past years, that i played longer than like 2 days ... ok, 3 games exactly. Dragon Age, League of Legends and Skyrim. Cant wait for the CK. Oh, and get the deadly dragon mod (hard version). Alduin will probaly wipe the floor with you.
  19. I personally tought that the College quest is better. Just a bit short but unlike Oblivion you just dont run motivationless from dungeon to dungeon. At least you got some sort of a better overall story ... ok not much better, but better. And its presentation is better. At least a bit (I didnt even cared about that endboss of the mages guild, cant even remember its name).
  20. Imperials tried to kill me? Well, every day someone tries to kill my PC. But Stormcloacs are racists and Ulfric is just trying to be nice to someone else than a nord if he thinks he gets something of it. Iam a argonian and they dont even let "my" people into their city and pay them like crap. Why shoud i join them? O.o Btw, funny part. At the meeting at High Hrotgar, be on the side of the imperials. Ulfric is talking to you like he thinks your a nord. pretty funny.
  21. Someone mentioned, that you coud do a quest as Altmer withhout problem because you are a Altmer. Unlike every other Race that has to fight. But stuff like that is rare, if your lucky you get some lines depending on your race and thats it.
  22. Considering that the settlement of New Vegas has everything to do with how FO1 and FO2 ended im not so sure that you're right. The issue isn't so much that the outcomes in FO1 and 2 didn't affect the world, its more in that only one outcome became canon. This is something of a running theme with FO games, though it may change, we don't really know. TES games, however, skirt by the issue by giving you the illusion of choice, but really only giving you a single outcome. The exception, of course, is Daggerfall, and the creation of the 'Warp In the West' and the associated Dragon Break was nothing short of genious, but if they were to have a Dragon Break every time there was a choice in the game, it would seem like time was unraveling. On Dragon Break is awesome. Two, eh. Three is too much, and more is just absurd. The Civil War is pushing it, and Beth is going to have to decide who wins, one way or another, and is going to piss off those who sided with the others. Its a dangerous line. The same can be said for Paarthunax and the Blades. If Paarth dies, his supporters will be upset. If he doesn't, the Blades dies out, and ceases to become a storytelling resource (And they've pretty much always been at the core of the stories). When dealing with continious story telling, too much choice isn't nessessarily a good thing. I do agree though, the range of voice acting and conversational choice in NV was vastly superior to Skyrim. Even if they just put in conversational choices which are for flavor, rather than trying to throw quest info at you, it would be an improvement. Guess Bethesda is just going the way they did with the last few TES games: They just take every outcome possible and mixmatch it into something no one expectet. Oh, and Parthurnaxx wont be back in any other TES game, because hes killable. Unlike the blades. If were unlucky he doesnt even gets mentioned in any book. And the Civil War will probaly not have a winner either way. If you end the questline (doesnt matter which one), you just kill the Leader, but the war itsself keeps going on. I bet, in a TES6, the books will tell, that both leaders died and something else happened after that. Like the Thalmor attacked or whatever.
  23. And the people still talking about immersion ... :D
  24. Did u look at the place where you found her first? Or the place she is used to be if you didnt marry her? If you dont talk to your wife right after the ceremony, she goes to her place.
