I have no desire to play an MMO of any sort and that includes co-op team play.

Thanks for asking this question. After many years I recently started a new game and wouldn't you know that same thing happened to me somewhere north of Ald Ruhn. I'm thinking I caught the blight from a diseased nix hound. Not knowing what to do I used the Option of Last Resort, re-loaded a previous saved game (I save frequently). Now when it happens again I'll be equiped with better options.

Will Steam Workshop split the modding community?
macole replied to LostLEGION's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Me thinks you made a good choice. -
I was starting to think favorably toward Steam and of buying Skyrim but after reading through this thread I think I'll wait awhile longer.

Said it once, will say it agian, Skyrim, looks great, less filling."

MGSO and Tamriel Rebuilt and Eyefinity
macole replied to Gimpylung's topic in Morrowind's Discussion
Wow, I'm speachless! Very impressive. Thanks -
I use the MGSO 2 and it does make Morrowind look good but I wouldn't call it a new version. It is a compilation or collection of existing mods neatly packaged together that save you some time and effort of downloading and installing them yourself. Read the install sheet carefully and you'll have little problem installing it. After a fresh install of Morrowind and MGSO you'll have a mod list of about 62 mods along wit a few usefull utilities e.g. MLOX, MGE XE and 4GB Patch. Install Wrye Mash and you're all set to go. If you have been playing and modding Morrrowind you may find that you already have installed many of the mods used to compile MGSO.

No. Changing file names won't do anything, or infact may cause problems. You either change the ini as stated in the first two posts (which is 100% SAFE) or you unpack the HD texture pack's bsas and delete its esps (which leaves you with gbs worth of loose files). Not a problem for as I have two 1TB HDDs but couldn't you just re-pack the BSA without the .esp files?

Wyre Bash, I am sure is a great tool for those who understand it's outdated and wierd ways. I recently came across cobl. At first I avoided this mod as I thought this was a mod coded in the very first computer language called COBOL! I was wrong, I love the mod cobl, but it requires you to create a bash patch with most of the stuff it contains! It is awkward, confusing and a general pain in the arse to install and get up and running. Why bother when you have OBMM! To install something in Wyre Bash goes something like this! Go to the local baker, buy a loaf and cut off the end piece, save that for later! Next buy a leek, as the game will not progress without one! Go back and load "Vegetables must prevail" mod,esp . Add this and god knows what else into a bashed patch and ignite it with petrol! Who the hell can be bothered with all this tripe! Best Wishes Zapata935 I'm using COBL without having Wrye Bash and it seems to be working fine. Also have OOO and MMM running without using Wrye Bash. Takes some work but they do alright. FCOM looks like it might be too much though. Installed Wrye Bash once sometime ago but never could get it to start-up. Always one error after another. Now that the game is running fairly well with 240 mods I don't want to start all over again just to play with the standalone Wrye Bash.

Flash and PR sells but i knew that going in. Didn't I? What has disappointed me more than anything else is that once reliable reviewers and magazines have turned into nothing more than paid infomercials. My release rating would be somewhere between 8.5 and 9 due to an abysmal PC UI and massive day one patch.

Bloodmoon Funniest thing you've heard an NPC say?
macole replied to Dullahan's topic in Morrowind's Lore
Oh my, I remember none of these. Actually I thought the Bosmer greeting and "Someone is watching me" line came from Oblivion. That does it, I'm going to reload Morrowind and give it another go. -
No, it wasn't the same thing at all. The Morrowind CS disk shipped with the game while the Oblivion version was available for download at time of release. I still have my original boxed copy of Morrowind from 2003 (UPC093155116306) and the CS disc is included. For Morrowind there was no download, no waiting. The way it should be.

You're wrong. For Skyrim, it's called the Creation Kit. For Fallout, it was called the GECK. If you think it's still called the Creation Set for Skyrim, you might want to email Bethesda and correct them on that. ;) Keep in mind that Skryim operates on a modified* engine than Oblivion's. Fixed that for ya. Same engine only modified to require Steam

Hentai Mania 1&2 made me think of Akavir. Skyrim could do with some of that, IMO.

Since the days of Daggerfall I've always played through each game first as an Altmer mage of the Psijic order claiming to be the last of the Ayleid. My only other race has been a Bosmer; a sneaky thief in Morrowind and heavy armored battlemage. I know a hundred ways to cook a steak. Know what I mean brothers? After reading the Fall of the Snow Prince I wanted to play as a Falmer but the Falmer of Skyrim just aren't appealing.

Just curious, right after you pickup the amulet as you are leaving and reach the top of the stairs were you apprached by a mage who attempts to take the amulet away from you? You must fight him before you leave the fort. yes I fight the mage (kalthar was his name if i recall) and defeated him of course :) is when I meet Dagail after that thats the problem start. Heard of this years ago. Most situations had to do with not allowing Klathor to talk to you and attack you first before killing him. After killing Klathor your quest log should update with" I've defeated Kalthar, who was attempting to manipulate Dagail. I need to give her this information immediately." If your log does not update correctly you can open the console and use setstage command to force complete the stage or you can force complete the quest also. One other thing this bug is fixed by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch. You can find the patch here http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296. Download and install it. it will fix a lot of stuff.

What is your least favorite thing about Skyrim.
macole replied to KennethKarl's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
There were only three or four of them, repeated ad nauseam. And they got old pretty quickly. Funny, I never tired of the Oblivion gates. But I keep reading post on how bad and repetitive they are from so many people that I often wonder why do I enjoy them so much, strange. -
Sorry to disappoint but the Bosmer do pratice ritual cannibalism according to the Green Pact. You can check here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Bosmer and here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bosmer. The Dwemer all vanished at the same moment in time. One minute they are here and the next minute poof they're all gone. Stargate experiment gone haywire.

This is the way I look at the races; Bosmer: Followers of the Green Pact, religiously carnivorous and practitioners of cannibalistic rituals the Bosmer most obviously represent the Celtic Druid culture of north western Europe prior to the Roman conquest. Altmer: A definite Northern Asia Chinese/Japanese cultural influence. Dunmer: No doubt the Dunmer represent Persian and Sassanid empires of the middle east circa 500 BC to 200 AD Redguard: Migrating from the sunken western continent of Yokuda and not being of the same stock as Nords, Bretons and Imperials I always looked at the Redguard as possibly being a Phoenician/Trojan/Carthage culture. The following are all related to one and other as descendants of the Nedes; Imperials: Greco/Roman culture easily. Nords; Obvious Nordic and Germanic cultures. Bretons: Romanized Britain and Gaul The Beast Races; Khajiit: With up to 20 known variants of the Khajiit race ranging from almost Elven Ohmes-raht to larger species such as the Senche and the Cathay-Raht governed by a dictatorial republic/confederacy in Elswery, I see them as a north and south American Indian cultural composite Argonian: Quite possibly the greatest influence would come from dense jungle rainforest cultures of south eastern Asia from India through Thailand and on to Bali

Why people shouldn't complain about all of the bugs.
macole replied to Exquisit's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
This lame excuse for shoddy workmanship is repeated over and over again and I'm tired of hearing it. Let's say you have a job, try using that excuse for poor performance. You're not going to keep your job very long that's for sure. Look at the some of the bugs found in Skyrim, the flying saber cat bug for example. I know for sure it was in Oblivion too. How long ago was that, six years. When the same bugs appear game after game I tend to be very disappointed and become irritated when referred to as an idiot because I voice my opinion. Three or four bugs is three or four too many for the price paid. -
Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is a mod that can be found in the TESNexus. It is very good as it makes the game more challenging and adds several quests and other things. You should checkout the top 100 mod list. You may want to looki into getting the Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) and BOSS to help with mod load order.

Oblivion NOOB seeks advice for character build type
macole replied to Xenobuzz's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Second, I've been carrying around the Debaser for quite awhile, but I've no clue how to recharge the enchantments, or even how to employ them in combat To recharge weapons you can either pay a mage at any of the mages guild halls to do it, use a filled soul gem or use a varla stone. Varla stones found in Ayleid ruins are the most economical method. One varla stone will recharge all magical items in your inventory. To help with your questing if you're not opposed to enchanted weapons I would suggest a mod like Dalls_Valeria. Some may say the scimitars and big tulwar may be a bit op but hey I like em. Besides can you help it if you just happen to find a couple of scimitars dropped by some merchants who were brutally attacked on the Talos Bridge few days ago. -
It's been awhile but from what I remember they become available in certain caves and ruins during the Vampire Cure quest. Just remember to sleep or hide inside cave during the day. And if you're running OOO do not equip Light of Dawn if you are a vampire. If you're not running OOO, get it. It is a must have mod.

Avoid the Imperial City quest Order of the Virtuous Blood. I never failed to get infected with vampirism when completing Order of the Virtuous Blood. At end of the quest after you sell some vampire dust guy tells you "oh, be careful handling vampire dust, it can infect you". Next thing you know your having bad dreams. Good thing is you do the Cure Vampire quest and you become immune. I'm pretty sure that is so.
