Honestly this is causing me to lose all enjoyment for skyrim. Ever since 1.4 i just cannot play without annoying purple textures on clothes/hair or CONSTANT (and i mean like every couple mins) CTD. Unplayable. No idea what to do.

Hey Modders, So i was just wondering if it would be possible to create a mod that brings back the old oblivion style gameplay a bit more : When wielding a 2H weapon, be able to use spells through an alternate hotkey without needing to unequip the 2H itself, ie, you can still block and swing it, but by Eg. pressing 'Z' you will cast your selected spell (say fireball) with your left hand while holding your 2h in the right (probably easiest to accomplish by making the right use the 1h animation while casting the spell i'd imagine.) For say Firestorm that requires 2 hands, perhaps allow also for it to be hotkeyed without having to unequip any weapons? A final idea i had was when weilding 1 Handers without a shield, use the 2h animations and allow them to deal more damage eg. 50% more damage when weilding the 1h with 2 hands, and then use the hotkey approach above for spells. Yay/Nay? Possible/Impossible? Cheers to all the talented modders who read/appraise this, you make this game infinitely better than bethesda ever could with your great work !

right ugh i did it but in the priory undercroft, there is a kind of floating piece of ground with the same door to the undercoft on it any help would be greatly appreciated thanks :) o dear lord and the floor is flashing ! i swear i did nothing for this to happen !! EDIT: No worries i fixed it ! thank you so much for all the help it worked perfectly :D this was kinda fun, could anyone tell me how to get started if i wanted to do some basic mods? :D

i'm having a bit of trouble with the cell view window. i loaded the priory undercroft, but it's too small and when i try and enlarge the window it goes into the bottom left so it's impossible to see it all. i'm running 1080p on a 32 inch if resolution has anything to do with it?

hey all, wasn't really sure where to post this since it's not really tech support (i don't think?) but i was just posting to ask how on the PC one goes about item model swapping? I know, sad as I may sound, i'm a bit of an immersive roleplayer and i wear the armour of the crusader, but i have the eschutceon of chorrol because it is way better than the crusader's shield, but i'd love to be able to item swap them so i have the stats from the eschutceon of chorrol but the vfx of the crusader's shield. Does anyone know know how to go about doing this? Much obliged.

heh, i'm not talking about a singular weapon, i'm after a mod which will make all 2h's hang at the hip :)

if it retains the stats and traits of a 2h, ie damage range, speed, distance range, then i suppose it would do, though i'd still prefer it play like a proper 2h :/

Okay, so, I'll use this point as good reference. What you would want to do to the weapon is simple. Take a two handed weapon, open it's nif in nifskope, and click the little arrow next to NiNode, which will be center left in a fullscreen window. There will be a NiStringExtraData, which you'll see the NiS part of at least, and it will say as it's value BackWeapon. Change the value to SideWeapon, and it will display on the hip. Next thing is not so easy. It's out of my range, but I'd say you'd want to script it to have it where, upon drawing, it switches to the other BackWeapon model, the two handed one. Then, you will want the script to switch back to the SideWeapon model upon sheathing. If you want this done, I recommend asking fg109 for help. Finally, I do wish to point out real life figures that will help with the sheathing not clip. From my own extensive knowledge of melee weaponry of past times, I can tell you no real claymore is 50 1/2 inches, but more along the lines of 42-45 inches. The figures Mark described for length are that only reached by parade swords, flammershwerts, Highland Scottish swords (which are not claymores), and zweihanders. As well, no real sword of actual battle design would be 5-6 1/2 pounds in weight. Often even claymores were at most 3-4 pounds, at the higher weights. The only swords that go higher in terms of weigh are purely ceremonial, the largest of which are about 15 1/2 pounds. Mainly, it was for strike speed and better force:energy ratios. So, for a sword like Anduril, you are actually likely looking at about 35-37.5 inches in length and 2 pounds in weight. That not only makes it realistic, but as well, it makes it lighter and prevents clipping problems. thank you very much for the information, hopefully your detailed insight will prove helpful to any modder thinking of trying to achieve this :)

hence this thread :) i think if the angle at which they hang can be adjusted so it is more diagonal and less vertical, there would not be any issues whatsoever for slightly smaller characters (not including bosmer because, well they're tiny), though for regular sized characters and larger characters (altmers, humans, dark elves etc) they seem to hang fine as is

don't know why this didn't post before but i'll reply again: i thank you for you feedback and link Mark, and indeed I did try out the aforementioned Mod, and can confirm after taking a small trip to fyre light cave and trying it out on some nearby timber wolves and the like, it solves all the issues i'm looking to resolve. The length does not clip with the floor on the hip, it doesn't diagonally clip with the cloak due to the angle with which it is hanging (and therefore nor does ofc the scabbard clip in this way). it looks absolutely brilliant and drawing it from the sheathe is fluid and controlled, it does not look clunky or unrealistic. So this is definitely possible :) thank you for pointing me to that, it has proven that the this idea should work !

while I appreciate the feedback, I'm not particularly worried about realism in terms of weight and length (drawing and such as you pointed out) however, if the sword constantly clips through the floor due to length, what about an additional feature within the mod which makes 2h's smaller to fit (though not range smaller obviously, otherwise they'd be pretty useless weapons) Let me think ...... ok a good analagy for the look i'm going for would be Aragorn from LOTR in the films, he has a bigass claymore sheathed at the hip and he wears a cloak, that would be totally perfect if that sort of accord could be reached :)

Hello there ! I was just graciously posting this mod request in askance that maybe a generous and talented modder might be able to create a mod in which claymores are sheathed on the hip much like 1 handers? I saw the mod by Visman (i sent him a PM, though I don't know if he's active anymore) where he made 1 handers sheath on the back, and I also saw the mod which changes the 2h idle stance to the 1h, so I don't think it would be impossible, (though take my opinion with a grain of salt, it's near worthless due to my lack of knowledge in modding). Would scabbards for the 2h's be possible as well? I ask this, mainly because they look much cooler on the hip in my opinion, but mainly because i use the brilliant 'capesandcloaks' mod, and wearing the larger cloaks causes insidious clipping issues when sheathing 2h's on the back (they go right through it, it's horrible!) If anyone can help or accomplish this, I would be greatly indebted to them and deeply appreciative !

Hey there, i was just wondering if it is possible to create a mod which would make shields invisible? Or is there a way already? Would look really cool if you were tanking with just a 1h sword in one hand and the shield bashing animations became punches instead :) Much obliged to anyone who responds :)
