  1. @Rabbit51.... She is better than I could have hoped (or in your case hopped) for as a V1.00. Just take your time and listen to the dialogue. As usual in Oblivion Vilja you are often not the master of the conversation or maybe not even included but if you listen in back story and clues are often included. Wonderful MOD.
  2. you may need the subs on or voices up or sound effects down. That part of the quest is... you find the other girl Vilja and girl speak you get a note to deliver Vilja and friend stay behind for a private conversation. Companion Vilja is a very wordy MOD 4000 lines of dialogue so it is best to stand close to the speaking NPC's for a few seconds after your click your line to get the bottle. Did you get to hear about the large Nord thinking he is growing a donkey tail? it may be useful info later that could be missed if you just clicked on get bottle and run off. That info may be useless or make you life easier later on. Just one of several lines that may or may not have clues in one of your "small things"
  3. MY CK is also borked. I am so annoyed at how often this happens to various members of my family over many different games am tempted to UNsteam all our Steam games and just get the updates elseware all seem to be available within 24h with a google search. The big plus about this would be get just the updates you want and install them when you want preferably after creating a system restore point. Then duff patches like this could be cleaned away as if they never existed. Just how mad is it that you have to consider Piratiseing a Legally purchased game just to be able to keep it working as you want. @ sydney666 I must say assuming that all people without the latest patch are pirates is just a tad off the mark. It is only the people that were stupid enough me included, to get this latest patch are not able to mod at this time. I just wish I was one of your pirates then at least I would still be able to do my thing with the CK.
  4. Not really a need for a mod if is still works the same way as in Oblivion with the gold value of worn/equipped items 0= naked 1 of more dold = dressed. So a simple silver ring equipped will do it. Even naked people wear jewellery  You could make a Mod to make an flat flesh coloured ring for truly naked look, but that could work out to be quite a bit of work for anything to be published. An "own use only" Mod could be fairly easy as you would need only to match you characters skin colour and type.
  5. Save then load that save. Is a good general fix for any stalled quest. For specific help try http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim Faster than waiting for a reply or Google can often throw up fixes that you can't find either here or there.
  6. One thing nobody else has picked up on. The patches are all 200Meg plus. I did a fresh install recently and the patched version is about 1.2Gig plus larger than the original install and by the time my favourite mods were installed I am now at 12.4 Gig for the game. So in reality with a modem connection at "44K on a good day" maximum download speed is 3m6s per 1MB. On a modem just to patch the game would mean a minimum of 1.2Gig = about 1250Meg times 3m 6s fastest possible. The absolute minimum download time just to patch the game is going to be 64h 40m. (3875m) My modem internet service provider used to cost 1p per Min. So the cost of just the patching the game is £38.75 minimum.
  7. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I'm a long term fan of Vilja she made me stay in Oblivion long after I lost interest in the main game.
  8. As a stealthy archer myself I can't see the problem with taking your companion/s with you up to the cave crypt etc. entrance and getting the to wait outside. Then when your ar-se gets handed to you on a plate witch it will do often if you go lightly armoured and you use mods like skyre and have the difficulty set high. Then you can bring in the heavy mob to help out. Walking around outside alone is next to impossible in some parts of MY Skyrim with frequent multi attacks on fast travel. For example when I left Skyrim for today I thought I would just fast travel to the next cave and kill the master vampire next time using entering the cave as a convient save point. Yeah so double Warebears and a skeever instantly attack from the ground and double dragons in the sky, dead before I could do anything. My companions took the flack while I RAN AWAY so I could live long enough to get my bow out and poison the arrow. For some companions are required mine are meat shields and pack mules as needed. . For my next play through it will be much gentler as Vilja will be my friend and companion. IF she is anything like the Oblivion Vilja it will be a pleasure to be her follower at times. The standard Skyrim followers are like cardboard cut outs in comparison. Obviously I will have to DE-MOD my game with parts of SkyRe all of Monster and Civil Unrest etc. removed.
  9. Vilja will be here very soon. Emma has said she expects to release it at the end of October ( that's NOW). Just a few bugs to sort out according to the last post I read. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/172080-companion-vilja/page__st__5480 I read the info on page 549
  10. The Nexus site is a fantastic place to get new mods but....... Yes I am mostly talking about FIX IT mods. Just how on earth are we mean't to know what mods are obsolete due to new patched etc. In an ideal world if the obsolete Mod author hasn't taken his mod then it could be flagged as NOT REQUIRED as of patch XYZ or this Mod is now part of XYZ. I use a lot of mods but just wonder how many of my old uploads are now just bloating my system.
  11. Vilja in Skyrim any day now. I love chatty companion mods especially when two companions start talking to each other and ignore the player. That just seems so real at times. Some of you will know what I mean 2 girls chatting and the bloke just sitting there and buying the drinks  Revenge could be sweet though as when Vilja said "I'm off to bed now" and you had emptied her pyjama bag... :D Now that's role playing
  12. I had the same "bug" once but you can just pay the 1000 fine. It doesn't happen every time either. So well worth paying if the quests bugs you.
  13. Sorry for the double post. Cat problem  with mouse.
  14. It can be a good base camp for most of the game. So well worth the trouble .
  15. The Vampire cure Quest should be available to you now.
  16. Snowmen have 2 eyes and a carrot for a nose, ice trolls have 3 eyes and NO carrot. Simplezz :D BTW curved swords do exist in Skyrim get on the right boat and you can get one.
  17. If I could have only 1 mod then it would have to be Vilja as a companion. She is light-years ahead of the Skyrim companions. That said the above list included a lot of my other favorites.
  18. No disrespect to anybody but it is the modders that did 99.99% of the work in making this possible at all.
  19. Defragging is not the best answer in all situations on a modern PC and can cause performance problems. This may seem a bit weird but for best performance you should NEVER delete anything or defrag until absolutely needed. ..........
  20. Just read this entire thread with some wry smiles. The TOS seem to make it impossible for any one person or group to make money except Steam/Valve. In short.... . They OWN your Mod the moment you submit it. IF they decide to alter, charge or just bury it you have no rights. IF they decide to sell it UNCHANGED then skimmed off from the top goes all the costs (shared between all modders ?) of their legitimate costs...you know the score.....Offices cars lunches etc. Better stop now...I feel a rant coming on.
  21. Even just mark the roads on the existing 3D map.
  22. Really enjoyed that. 1950's "B" movie trailer style.
  23. There are several 1000's of bugs in the game. Maybe it is now time to fully patch your game to save more grief.
  24. I just don't understand what is wrong here. Same as others it is worth the gold just to be able to see your own horse, if you travel in a group.
