Hm, my voice in the game would be a little weird. I think for me personally, the lines I would use are not those that your main character uses. I would also probably have a lot of "um's" and "uh's" in my audio file lol. Especially when the NPCs want you to make a decision.

spoiler So what is Flemeth? Really?
Chiramu replied to danscott84's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
It would be nice if Flemeth became a character like Reaver has in Fable 3; where they are antagonists, but they are not the main enemy. I don't think I would like it if Flemeth suddenly turned around an became the final boss, that would be weird. As for what I think she is, she is another fictional villain I guess. A villain whose personal goals don't go against the goals of the main character in the story, but hinder the main characters' progress. I would've killed Flemeth if Morrigan didn't treat me like some hired goon and tell me to kill Flemeth. I'm the main character, and I'm not gonna play a thug to beat up guys who are annoying Morrigan >.>. Maybe Flemeth should have some books written about her for before the release of Dragon Age 2? Like how she got her new body and whatnot. Anyone wanna take up the challenge? -
ME>DA>ME2>DA2: Perspectives...
Chiramu replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Just a minor correction: KoTOR2 was not developed by BioWare. It was developed by Obsidian Entertainment. It has Bioware's name on it too though, and they are making the Star Wars: The Old Republic which is after the KOTOR series. They did a lot of work on the KOTOR series. -
I didn't really understand this thread until I read everyone's comments; but now I understand it I can give another answer to the question. I play the game sort of how I am like in real life; but I also act on how I imagine my PC would act. I sort of design a character to have their own personality, and I choose different options depending on who I am playing. Like my Dalish, I didn't want Zathrien to die, cause she is a Dalish too and understands their plight. So she ended up doing the "evil" course by killing the werewolves. Most of the options are very black and white, which I think is bad. I personally end up playing my characters in a bit of a gray area, because that is how real life is. Although, when I first started playing, I just did EVERYTHING good. One thing I really dislike in DA though is Morrigan's personal quest, it makes it sound like you're some little lackey doing her dirty work :<. And for that reason, I always let Flemeth go, because I don't like playing a tool.

ME>DA>ME2>DA2: Perspectives...
Chiramu replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
You can only be one human in ME(2) as well but it is still a great experience. You should try those games. They are truly great. Maybe I should, still I will never forget KOTOR2 :/. -
ME>DA>ME2>DA2: Perspectives...
Chiramu replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Strange how ME2 is better than the first one; the KOTOR games are the opposite. Bioware didn't even complete KOTOR2 :< and they cut out a whole lot of story, so your ending is so unfulfilling (and I liked it so much too :<). I haven't played either of the ME games, I feel they will be exactly like DA. But I don't know how DA2 will turn out, I am not overconfident with it. I think from my experience of KOTOR2, my faith in Bioware of making a great game no matter what, is shaken. So I am quite scared as to how DA2 will be. It is quite disappointing how you can only play Human, especially after the first one, where they give you many choices for your origins. -
I was just wondering if someone could make a mod that makes Sten's sword a stronger weapon. I like the idea of him using it for the final battle, but at the final battle it's really quite weak in comparison to the other two-handers you can get. What say you?

Elves Need a Little Help
Chiramu replied to tinylewtgriffon's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
The elves shorter than humans makes the Dragon Age elves unique. All the previous encounters with elves they have always been tall and fair, just think The Lord of the Rings. Well I do like the Dragon Age elves because they are quite different, and it would be a very big shame if they were the same as all the other elves in the fantasy stories :/. -
The problem with this, though interesting. It might get a bit tedious. Because you are walking towards Ostagar, you are likely to be following the road, you might be attacked by bandits, but most of the time you would be just ...walking. I think the transition from the completion of the origin story - to - Ostagar is a good one. No doubt the writers at Bioware probably thought of something like this, but they probably couldn't write an interesting way to put it in the game. I think it would work FINE in a written story or comic book, but when you play through it as a game, it is totally different.

I like imagining Howe is a Scar voice from The Lion King. I like imagining him with a drawling and sarcastic voice. The big nose of Mr Burns does suit Howe though.

Well Fable 3 just recently came out and it's great. As are the costume designs. My favourite designs are the ones given to the prostitutes in Fable 3, particularly for the men Image. I was wondering if anyone else thought the costumes of these guys are absolutely hilarious, it would be so funny to see them on the males of the party! Oh if only they had dialogue to say what they think of these costumes. Anyway, if anyone thinks it's possible to model some Fable 3 costumes into the Dragon Age game that would be great. We could buy them off of some vendor somewhere. Like from the brothel in Denerim or something ;P.

I wasn't talking about the game of WoW, I was merely giving an example a modder could look to to make something like this request possible. It takes a lot of time to make something like this FAIR. You can surely make it outrageously powerful, but who would play their character seriously if they had something like that. You need to use your brain to think about how to make it fair at all stages of gameplay. And it can be produced for Dragon Age and still keep everything fair and fun. YOU LOOK AT REFERENCES AND SEE HOW OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DONE IT.

15 bucks, and the heirloom gear you pay with game money so it's not an additional fee. Game money is free.
-
'cuz you know, automagically increasing stats on your gear instead of having to find/buy/win the better stuff later on isn't "cheating"... :whistling: For a good example of this armour just look at the Heirloom gear that you can buy in World of Warcraft. Is this considered "cheating"? Blizzard doesn't think so, otherwise they would get rid of the Heirloom items from the game.

spoiler Emotional / "RP feeling" quests!
Chiramu replied to Oddmaster's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I have to disagree with that summation because I can play a conflicted and confused underachiever that regularly makes questionable decisions; one that is neither an anal pore nor the effete holier than thou twit. I regularly offer Lily my condolences for being Jowan's lady-friend, suggest to Alistair that wearing a dress and dancing down the darkspawn line is a good idea or that he should let the darkspawn know they are in the wrong place. I've also asked him if he knows how to write and inquired if his mother is a 5 letter word for a female dog. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I always go for the punch line or take the opportunity to be the smart-a**. True you do get some jokes, but they are limited. There are plenty more that you can say sarcastically but the NPCs ALWAYS take it seriously (and get upset), even if you click on it laughing and there's no choice afterwards to say you were joking >.>. -
spoiler Emotional / "RP feeling" quests!
Chiramu replied to Oddmaster's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
For me I don't really feel any of the Dragon Age game is very RP-ish to me. Because I don't want my character to be a stern, serious and fearless character; in the broodmother's lair I would be scared SHITLESS, and so should my character be. It is disappointing how limited the game has been made because of the dialogue. Because of the way it's been written you can only play a complete a**hole, or a goodie-too-shoes. And in either personality your character is still serious and stern. I'll feel like it's role-playing when I can play a character who can joke around and be stupid, a little bit of a scaredy cat and who has a personal quest to kill the Archdemon (but then that's why I'm writing a fancomic lolz). -
Any archery improvement mods?
Chiramu replied to jdaw2552's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I find Archery best with Warrior (I LOVE my warrior Archer), you need strength and dexterity for it. Rogue archer is so weak. -
Cammen's Lament Alternative SPOILERS
Chiramu replied to manlyMAN0890's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Wouldn't new dialogue for Cammen need to be recorded? That would be a bit hard considering he has already been cast and voiced, unless the modder can employ an experienced voice actor to work for free lol. -
I'm not a psychology student, I just studied Classics.

The only thing I hate about the Dwarven main quest is the Deep Roads.
-
I think it's actually funnier in Fable 2, where the developers actually write a "tooltip" commenting about how so many people sound the same lol. Though it is not uncommon for places to re-use voice actors, Blizzard does it too, and comedy shows re-use their actors to fill up roles, ie Monty Python :P. Edit: (slipped my mind last time) Look at Mel Blanc, voiced pretty much all of Looney Tunes (I don't remember if he did every character or if there might have been some other actors) but I'm pretty sure he was the famous "man of a 100 voices"(don't remember if that quote is right sorry).

Defiantly XD I like your style of thinking :D Can't wait to see Alistair in a GOWN!
